"Yeah it does!" He leaned foward. "Now for some details. How many explosions? Were they big explosions? If you could have done it over again would you?"

"One nuclear bomb, I think, and it was kind of a messup on our part, but yeah, it was absolutely beautiful, and I'd probably have done it again if I could." Minerva grinned. "Always wanted to go out with a bang myself."

"With activities like shooting off nukes, I don't think you'll have to worry too much about that."

Ruby St.Claire
Ruby paused in her tracks, and looked at the massive red and black vehicle. The shiny exterior, washed and cleaned with obsessive care, reflected her image like a mirror. She still wore the silvery silk from Sahira's world. It made her eyes look more silver than gray, which made her smile, she always thought her gray eyes looked too drab and washed out. She had once spent a week praying they would turn cornflower blue.

Ruby walked up to the bus, if she wanted a place free of refugees, a place she could step away for a little while, it was here. But she also wanted to run, she wanted to run away and never come back. She was faced with a decision that was tearing at her piece by piece.

It all came down to whether she still loved him or not. She wasn't sure for a moment, and was afraid to think about it, afraid of the answer.

She stood there for five minutes, trying to decide whether to stay with Arch, or leave him.

Ruby turned around and started walking away from the bus.

Ten steps away she stopped, and turned back. Ruby quietly slipped into the bus, her decision made.

Arch was lying on the bed, asleep. The chest was sitting open, the padlock sitting in it, closed, but with the key still in it.
He had a piece of paper crumpled in his hands as he laid there, sprawled as if he had been sitting.

Alloran took Sahira to the infirmary, which was surprisingly empty, given so many people sustaining so few injuries over the travel. The Chief went with them, watching over Sahira as the doctors moved around her, trying to do whatever the hell it is they do.

Ruby quietly over stepped the chest, though there was a tug of curiosity as she saw it lying open. She ignored it and sat on the bed next to Arch. She brushed back the hair from his face and gave his cheek a soft kiss, while attempting to slip the crumpled piece of paper away.

He made a generic noise in his sleep, shifting, the hand with the paper moving a little bit further away. He stayed sleeping. His hair was more mussed than usual as he moved about, his face looked red, as if he had been rubbing it.

The doctors did all that could be done for her immediate injuries, although she was left with a temporary hearing loss. The head doctor left her with a pad of paper, a pen, instructions to take it easy for a week, and a cherry flavored lollipop. Sahira gave the doctor a grumpy glare, and swatted the nurse away from her arm, as the woman tried to insert a needle for an IV. IV's always freaked Sahira out, and she wasn't going to take one easily, whether it was advisable or not.

"Hold still! You need the damn fluids." The nurse yelled at Sahira, who caught the gist of it by reading her lips. Sahira however disagreed and decked the red lollipop at the nurses's head, cathing her in the eye, and then tried to make a run for it.

The nurse however was an ice super, and Sahira soon found her hands frozen to the bed, while the Nurse with well practiced accuracy, stabbed her with the needle and inserted the IV. The nurse picked up Sahira's pad of paper and pen, and quickly wrote. "Now unless you want to pull the needle out, which will cause unbelievable pain, then sit down, and quit complaining!" She dropped the pad of paper and pen on Sahira's lap, and the ice quickly dissolved, leaving a slightly wet, slightly cold, and slightly grumpy cat scowling from the hospital bed.

A small smile crossed Ruby's lips at the new challenge. She was curious, horribly curious, and the small details of his face and mussed hair, hadn't passed her by. She leaned over him to reach the paper and the hand, carefully finding her balance so she didn't fall on top of him and wake him up. She brushed her fingers against the back of his hand trying to get it to relax and loosen. "Come on, sugar, you know you wanna give it up." She whispered. She wasn't too concerned about her touch and presence waking him, she'd slept with him long enough that his subconscious shouldn't find her close proximity anything unusual.

"Yeah, you'd think that." Minerva gave a semi-bitter smile and didn't say anymore.

"Ra, let the damn doctors take care of you." The Chief said, walking in. He had a pad of paper, on it having written "How are you?"

~ ~ ~

Her hand found his, and it quickly relaxed at her touch, releasing the piece of paper received from the Angels.

Ruby slipped the paper away and sat back. She uncrumpled it and began to read, taking in the prophecy with quick eyes. She read it a few more times, then folded it, and tucked it away. She knew what it was, but didn't entirely understand what it meant.

She looked down at Arch, with a long quiet sigh. "Tied up with prophecies, war, an' whatever else gets tossed into your hands, hmm sugar?" She brushed her hand against his cheek, "an' to think I almost left you today." She watched him sleep, with a small smile, grateful he had been asleep when she had been right outside the bus making her decision. If he hadn't, the emotional signature would have been blaring for him to read.

"Why don't you ever share, sug? I wouldn't feel so cut off from you if you'd share." She frowned, but moved back to kiss him light as a ghost.

Sahira turned her scowl on the chief. She scribbled something on her pad, then took a deep breath, scratched out the swearing, and wrote down a simple "I'm fine, how about you?"

As an afterthought she quickly wrote out. "I saved a lollipop for you, but it attacked the nurse. If you still want it, it's on the floor."

((Why is Sahira writing notes? She's deaf, not mute...))
