Hedoro
Hedoro gathered up the mock exams she'd put together, hopefully they'd be difficult enough to give Tamao a challenge. Getting to her feet, she set the exams on an empty part of the desk, face down so Tamao couldn't peek at them before test time. She shook her head when Tamao asked if she needed to do anything else, and began to get ready for bed. It didn't take long, all she had to do was change and hop in bed. Tamao had already done so, so she turned the light off before crawling under the covers, and told Tamao good night. The night went relatively peacefully, and quickly as well. Only a handful of hours later, dawn had broken, faint sunlight was starting to creep into the room. Hedoro woke up fairly early, considering how late she'd gone to sleep. Sitting up, she looked around for a moment, seeing if anything had changed. Books and papers were where they'd been left, her clothes were hanging over the back of the chair, and Tamao was in her own bed. Everything looked right, so she got up and got dressed. Tamao was still asleep, so she decided to go for a quick run before class began.

Tamao
Tamao awoke slowly, she was still tired from only sleeping for about half of what she normally did. But she had to get up, she didn't dare be late at this crucial stage of her academy stay. So she slowly sat up and rubbed her eyes a little before wincing as she put her feet on the cold floor. Now more awake thanks to that particular shock, she looked around, but didn't see Hedoro anywhere. Had she stepped out for a while? Hopefully she'd be back before class began. She hurriedly washed up, and got dressed, tossing her other clothes in the hamper. She'd have to do laundry soon, although she didn't want to take time away from her studying even for as short a period as that. If she ended up failing, or even if Hedoro ended up failing, she'd hate to think that even that hour might have made a difference. She spent some time combing her hair as she ran through what all she wanted to accomplish today. The day after tomorrow was the exams, so they were running low on time. There was still so much they'd have to know, there wasn't any time to goof around.

Hedoro
Hedoro came to a stop, she'd been running for a decent stretch of time. There wasn't much point in it, except that running sometimes helped her think. She strolled back to her dorm room to get ready for classes, maybe have something to eat beforehand. When she opened the door, she found Tamao still inside, combing her hair. Closing the door, she asked if they should get something for breakfast, and was answered with a definite yes. It seemed Tamao was pretty hungry for it being so early in the morning. So the two of them got ready and set out. They grabbed all of their stuff for classes, so they wouldn't have to stop back at their room after eating. They went into the cafeteria, got some food, and sat down, enjoying one of their last meals before the big exam. It seemed quite a few of the students were getting nervous about the looming exam, and were doing anything they could to either study like crazy, or take their mind off the whole matter. Hedoro ate in silence, as did Tamao, and the two finished only a short while later. After dropping off their dishes, they left the cafeteria and headed for their classroom.

Oni-Chan "Now, the first thing a smart kunoichi should do is to master the arts of her clan..." said Mitsuko as she thought of ways to continue this topic. "Now I am aware that you are of the aburame clan, and you specialize in manipulating the parasetic destruction beetles, am I correct? Because this trait is unique to you, you should try using it for a variety of purposes....what would you do if a taijutsu user attacked you with a spinning kick? how would you use your special trait to counter that?" After she said that, Mitsuko made a kagebunshin and it did a normal kick right at Kiater. (feel free to train in the techniques of the academy by yourself...I'll be here giving you hints for what comes later on. You train and I talk) whee ((I'm not sure if this Guild uses Dice or anything. sweatdrop )) Kiater listened to her Sensei silently but thuroly ((Sp.?)), answering her questions. "Yes, I'm apart of the Aburame Clan and yes, I specialize in manipulating parasetic destruction beetles", Kiater answered to her Sensei as she asked the questions. The next question her Sensei asked, Kiater didn't reply because she would just show her what she would do. She wants me to use my insects to evade the kick when I could just block it?, Kiater thought and created three quick seals with her hands raised in front of her while the kick was comming at her. Kikai Bunshin No Jutsu. I guess I'll use my insects then, she thought as her Sensei's kick hit her insect clone and it smashed into the ground. The beetles scattered then came right back to Kiater, who was standing about ten feet behind the clone. The insects ran to her anckles and up to the inside of her skin.

Tamao
The two arrived in the classroom, and walked in. Class didn't start for a few minutes yet, but it looked like all of the students were already ready for class to begin. Even though class hadn't started yet, none of the students were gossiping or goofing around; no, it looked like they were all hard at work. After Tamao sat down, she looked up at the board and saw why. Their instructor had written a note on the board, telling the class it was free study today, and if anyone had questions they could go ahead and ask him. He was busy lounging at his desk in the corner, flipping through the newspaper. Tamao glanced over at Hedoro, and asked if they should use this chance to take their first shot at each other's exams. Quietly, of course, so she didn;t disturb the others. Hedoro seemed to think about the idea for a moment, then nodded. Luckily, Tamao had brought the exams along with all of her other things, so they were ready to go. She handed the first test she'd made to Hedoro, and took the one she was given. Setting it down on her desk, she went right to work.

Hedoro
Hedoro took the test that Tamao handed her, and handed one of the oens she'd written up to her. Moving some of her things off of her desk, she jumped right into the exam. Looking over the questions, she had to take it slow. A lot of the questions were pretty in-depth, would the real exam be like that? She wasn't sure, so better plan on it just to be safe. She began filling in the answers as best she could, skipping the ones she wasn't sure on so she could come back to later. It was a fairly lengthy test, even just doing the questions that she immediately knew the answers to was taking awhile. But she didn't let that dissuade her, she had known it would be pretty lengthy. So she kept at it, writing down more and more of the answers. Some she had to guess at, others she was pretty sure she was wrong about, and some she was actually confident in how she handled them. As the day neared it's middle, she drew to a close. There were only two or three difficult questions left, so she tried to concentrate, and put the last answers down in a blaze of inspiration. Hopefully she'd be right about them; she'd find out soon enough.

Tamao
Looking over the test she'd been given, Tamao smiled. Not because it was too easy, in fact it looked pretty difficult. The fact that Hedoro had chosen questions like these was a good sign, it showed she understood what made a good question. And if that was true, then maybe she'd do okay on the real thing coming soon. But enough thinking about that, she had a test to work on. Tamao started immediately, filling in the answers as she figured them out. She didn't skip the ones that she didn't know, she stuck with them until she felt confident in her answers. Maybe not the best system in terms of saving time, but then again she didn't want to rush and risk messing something up. Even with the extra time her test needed, she was going at a decent clip, she'd be done before too much longer. Finally, she set her pencil down, she'd finished it. There had been quite a few difficult questions on the exam, she couldn't say for sure how she had done. She glanced over at Hedoro, who was still hard at work, and smiled. Waiting patiently for her to finish, she thought about the answers she'd put down, wondering if they were as complete as she should have.

Hedoro
Hedoro stared at the last question, it was a lot more difficult than she had thought. The first answer that had come to her had seemed right, but at the last moment she found an error in what she had thought, and had to re-do it. Better to find the mistake now, rather than get the question wrong later. So she hadn't put her first instinct down, instead she was spending more time thinking about it. Finally, she came up with her answer. She wasn't very confident in it, but it had been the best she'd been able to think of, hopefully she'd at least not be too far off. Leaning back in her chair, she put her pencil away, andlooked to see if Tamao had already finished. Of course she had. Now that the both of them had finished their exams, it was time to exchange and grade them, see how each other had done. She pulled out her answer sheet and looked over the test Tamao had taken, circling the right answers, putting a check next to the ones she'd messed up. She hadn't been positive about it before, but now she knew for sure. Tamao was smart! Most of the questions were right, there weren't very many that were wrong at all. By the time she'd finished, Tamao had only missed about one in fifteen, a very good score.

Tamao
Tamao read through the answers that Hedoro had supplied for the test she'd made. Some were wrong, some were right, and she was marking them as she found them. Overall, Hedoro had done a little better than Tamao had hoped. If her score stayed the same as it was now, she was getting about four out of five questions right. That should really be enough to pass, the generally acknowledged limit was anything less than seven out of ten right was considered a failure. With that, she marked the last question, and tallied up the totals. She had put an even hundred questions on the exam, and Hedoro had gotten eighty-two right, and eighteen wrong. That seemed plenty good to pass, now they could move on to just getting her subjects a little more streamlined, so she'd be better prepared for the sort of questions they might be faced with. Some of the ones she'd gotten wrong had only been wrong because she hadn't put enough information, so she'd help Hedoro with that. A little practice in basic test-taking, and she'd be all set. Hopefully they could pass together. Even if they didn't stay together afterwards, at least they could pass together.

Hedoro
Hedoro handed Tamao's test back to her, and looked over her own results. She'd missed that one? That one had been right after all? Her results were a bit odd, compared to what she had thought she would have gotten. But she had still done better than she had expected, she had been worried about getting more than a quarter of the questions wrong. Luckily she'd done better than that, it gave her a good boost to her confidence. There was still some time in the day, but she was kind of wiped out from that test, she just wanted to relax for a little bit. It was a little too early for lunch, so she had no choice but to stay where she was, and get whatever rest she could. It actually wasn't as bad as she thought, her chair wasn't too uncomfortable. She chatted quietly with Tamao for a little bit, as they compared grades and asked questions about what they'd gotten wrong. Even while she was resting she was doing something to try to help her chances of surviving the upcoming exam. At this rate, she'd hopefully have nothing to worry about, she'd be a real ninja, and able to travel the villages, learning from the masters to become even more popular.

Tamao
Tamao looked over how she'd did, about what she had thought. A few of the questions she knew she would get wrong, and she had. There were a few others that she had thought she would have gotten, but didn't quite understand why until after asking Hedoro about it. They compared grades and questions, and explained to each other why each question that had been marked wrong had been marked wrong. Now that they'd been corrected, hopefully it'd make the real test that much easier. As they talked, time passed, and lunch snuck up on them without them even noticing. When it was meal time, the instructor dismissed the class, but said that anyone who wanted to could come back to the classroom after lunch to continue where they'd left off. Otherwise class was dismissed for the day. Tamao talked it over with Hedoro, and they decided that they'd go get something to eat, have a nice leisurely lunch, then come back and take another test. After that, they could decide the rest later. So they got up and left the room with the rest of the class, to get something to eat, to replenish their energy and continue studying.

Hedoro
Hedoro made her way down the stairs and out of the building, across the campus and into the cafeteria. Getting in line after Tamao, they waited for the people ahead of them to finish and then got their trays. Grabbing something to eat and drink, they made their way to the same table they'd used that morning, which was now much more occupied than it had been earlier. Some of Tamao's friends were there, but they looked absolutely listless. Hedoro wondered what had happened, but didn't pry. It was none of her business, after all. She sat down and glanced over at Tamao, wondering if she was going to ask the others what was going on. She did, and one of the others managed to mutter something to the effect of 'killer exam'. They couldn't be brought to say anything else, it was a wonder they'd even made it to the cafeteria at all as wiped out as they all looked. Tamao, always the caretaker, tried to get some of them to drink or eat something, and after a long moment, some of them started to look a little better. Still downright exhausted, but not as bad as before. Maybe now that they were fully conscious, they could say what the matter was?

Tamao
Tamao spent quite a bit of time getting her friends back to the realm of the living, whatever had happened to them, it had been pretty rough. Finally, they looked like they'd be alright, so she stopped her ministrations and tried to get one of them to tell her what had happened. But for some reason none of them would, were they scared that whatever it was would happen to her as well? She kept trying to get them to tell her what happened, but none of them would say anything. Finally she gave up, and returned to her lunch. Even though she'd given up on getting them to tell her, she still kept an eye on them. They all looked exhausted, both mentally and physically, like they'd been through hell. But even though they looked worn out and broken, there was a certain something in their eyes, it could be relief? She didn't know what would cause something like that, but figured if they wouldn't tell her that she probably wouldn't be able to figure it out on her own. Continuing to eat, she chatted a little with Hedoro, to plan out the rest of their day. Back to the classroom after this, and get another practice test in, then another one tonight, or maybe two if they went fast enough.

Hedoro
After they worked out their plan, Hedoro saw no reason to waste time, so she finished her meal in short order. Normally she'd have to be secretive about eating in front of other people, but each and every person at the table with the exception of her and Tamao had their face directed firmly at nothing. She could probably dance naked on the table and they wouldn't notice. Not like she'd do that, though. After finishing her meal, she waited for Tamao to do the same, then suggested they take a little walk, get some fresh air on the way back to class. Tamao agreed, so they dropped their dishes off and went outside, taking the scenic route around the entirety of the campus. As they walked, she thought about what could have done that to the other students. Nothing came to mind, but suddenly she had the sinking feeling that something similar would happen to them if they weren't careful. She didn't think anyone dangerous had snuck on the grounds, but more like something associated with the exams would prove more dangerous than they were thinking. They'd have to be careful.

Tamao
Their walk took them the long way around the campus, giving them plenty of time to think. Tamao didn't know what had happened to her friends, she just hoped they'd be okay. She'd done what she could, they would have to fend for themselves for the time being. If nothing else, they could see the academy's medic-nin apprentice, and find out if something was wrong. She hoped they'd do that, or at least go to their rooms and get lots of rest so they weren't so wiped out before the exams even started. By now they'd nearly finished their circuit of the grounds, so they turned off the path they were following and headed towards the classroom. Once there, they saw that virtually all of the class had done the same, looked like everyone was serious about preparing for the exams. They took their seats, and immediately prepared for their second round of practice exams. They exchanged papers, and started filling in the answers. Maybe it was the walk, or maybe it was intentional, but this test seemed a little easier than the first one. Tamao made good time, none of the questions seemed quite as tricky as the first test's. She would still probably get some questions wrong, but she felt good about how she'd do overall.
