Rae smiled at Lucind before looking back down at Max, to have the world suddenly disappear into blackness beyond pitch and emotions so raw and overwhelming that she wouldn't have been able to put a name to them even if she had a thought of her own at the time...
The knife slipped out of numb fingers to thud into the wood of the bar top as Maximos moved to take what Sun had offered so willingly a moment ago. The problem with connecting yourself to someone else was that when things went wrong they went very wrong...
It was all over in a matter of moments, Max rushed out again and now Hono did act, although it was likely that no one would ever realize why as she darted in to yank Rae off the bar before they both disappeared, “Be back in a bit…” only a forgotten knife quivering in the bar top left to say they had been there only a moment before.

" I did give fair warning." That was quite a spectacle! Damion had thought Maximos had buried any such tendancies far beneath the calm gentlemanly exterior. Glad to see the man wasn't a robot after all. He was safely out of the way of the mans recent departure, halfway between him and Anuksu, and so he got to watch everything. " Some people get to have all the fun." He muttered sarcastically under his breath, knowing that it might come back to bite him in the a** if the wrong people heard him.
In either event, he'd turn back towards Anuksu, shaking his head alittle and shrugging. Better leave that to those that could deal with it, right? Or atleast wait until Maximos returned of his own accord. He'd resume walking towards the Vampire in amoment though, fishing around in his right pocket for something. " Hello Vampire. I'm afraid I've forgotten your name, and you lack mine."
He wasn't loud, nor did he try to be insulting, but he gave off the impression of one who wouldn't try and lead you astray, of being as bluntly honest as a baseball bat to the head.

This was the sort of thing that was somewhat uncommon, even by Gaia's (or, hell, the Firebrand's) standards. After the spectacle had taken place and Maximos had tore off, a gruff voice floated up from somewhere behind Sunstrike.
"Ach. Seh... yeh be needah ah Ban'-Ahd fer'aht?"
Watts' monotone voice and matter-of-fact way of speaking probably wasn't welcome right now. Meanwhile, the rest of the staff was busy trying to keep people under control. Needless to say, many free meals were given.
Others meals were lost.
Cleanup, aisle 5.

The commotion at the bar instantly drew Anuksu's full attention. Something clearly wasn't right.
Don't TOUCH ME!
Had he heard that right? Surely that really wasn't Maximos, for the way evryone seemed to speak of him he was a rather good natured being.
Then, as Maximos tore towards the door and caught eyes with Anuksu it clicked.
"Those teeth... those eyes... YOU!! Oh this is just too precious."
Anuksu's eyes were full or recognition, he had seen that face once before... and it hadn't ended well. This was indeed too precious, to think that kind old Maximos was posessed by such an entity. How the mighty have fallen. Unable to hold it in any longer, Anuksu let out a roar of laughter at seeing such an old... aquaintance.
He managed to stop his laughing as soon as Damoin made it over to his table. He looked up at him and smiled. Anuksu was now in a VERY good mood.
"Hello to you too, have a seat friend. My name is Anuksu, and I didn't exactly catch yours either with all the gunfire going off and such. What brings you to my table on this fine day?"

Madison had now blinked three times in a row, she had seen something like that before. Now the real question was anyone going to run after him? And for that matter, depending on fast they did run, would they be fast enough to catch up to him. The rabbit only remained still as she watched the commotion continue.
"...What happened?" The rabbit wasn't entirelly sure of the situation, maybe the mysterious darker man who had fled was paranoid or somehting. But she was pretty sure that it was the same as always. But from what Madison had recalled from this man, at least on what she could relate him too, this seemed rather usual. However, her judgement had changed considering that everyone else seemed to have a different opinion due to their behaviors.

And it's entirely possible that Scarker would have tried the fish and chips... if someone who just had didn't loose it all over his back. The wondrous thing about a good leather coat was that it didn't absorb such nastiness, so cleaning that with a flick of energy was simple. His hair on the other hand... Well, nothing a good shower wouldn't cure.
But first, there was an injury to attend to. The mage kinda understood what just happened - he was too naive to understand the distinction between people and animals and had seen wolves at work - but what he noticed immediately was...
"Well, that looks like it smarts a little."
His magesight was again cannibalized, this time to create a spell. His hands started to glow white as he approached Sunstrike. If he wasn't kept from coming into contact with the wound, the spell would start rebuilding the lost tissue. The spell also had a wonderful numbing side effect that would numb the surrounding area so that, rather than an agonizing pain of half-formed tissue, he would just feel a steady ache.
The spell would take a few minutes to do its work though, so how about some light conversation! (All this assuming that his offer to help wasn't turned away.)
"Tell me, was that a plan gone wrong, or did we just see something go horribly wrong on purpose?"

Sunstrike was still staring at the door as Scarker came towards him. His original plan had been for Hono to help him out, but of course, she'd been too excited in the wake of the bar and then the apparent distress of Max to stick around.
Bonds of debt tended to run along links.
Sun'd have to face up to what he'd done by himself, and he wasn't entirely certain he'd get a good reception. Damion spoke as if it were something that could have been avoided. The pale man, Anuksu, took it for a laugh, there was something...similar there, a recollection that wasn't quite his own.
"No, " He finally spoke, answering Scarkers question first. "It looks like it does, but to be fair, I think there's a lot of nerve damage. Plus, I drank enough to down a horse." Still. Sun was pointedly not looking at it, at least not til he grabbed a cold wrist and actually met the other man's healing with a handshake. Things started connecting, and the bloodflow cauterized at a rapid rate, knitting faster then would be normal.
"I'll have to take a lot of responsibility for that, I apologise," This to the dwarf and everyone else's questions. "But there wasn't anything....I could feel it coming you see."
Hunger. Sunstrike was a runner, he'd never been a predator, even as a god he was a coward, prey for the darker things in the universe. But that gave you some insight into what was hunting you, especially if you knew you were tasty.
Before, Sun would have been on the fast track to a hidey hole. But there wasn't time enough to run now, and Sun needed Max alive and, disturbingly enough, healthy. Just...not necessarily in the way Maximos had wanted.
People would have been very wrong if they thought Max had been the brutal one in that situation. That look, that scream, should have been the truth of it. The red head had just coldly forced the shadow to defy every one of his many walls, with something as easy as a small slice of skin.
Coldly sacrificed not only his arm, but the remnants of Max's, and maybe even Hono's, sanity in order to further a cause.
He wriggled his fingers as feeling came back. Pins and needles.
"I'll still need that raw stuff, and, if you've got them candy, sweets, a small bag. And this, filled with the strongest paint remover you call alcohol in the place." Something silver flashed, and the dwarf caught it. A flask, fairly plain, but embellished a bit at the cap.
"There was purpose. Now. I'm gonna go duct tape over what's left, so we can get moving. There are reports of activity all over, but there may be some quite close to home."
It was terse, and Sun would be very sorry later for being so, but he'd carefully take what he'd ordered, the meat was laid out in a wrapper, the candy, boiled sweets, were shoved into a bag, which then went into a pocket, and then the flask which was strapped into a pocket against his calf.
"Sorry about your clothes..."
He stared at the man in front of the door without speaking. Tiny in comparison, with a literal doggy bag of meat in one hand, smelling of alcohol and the left over blood; yet with a quiet authority that said...politely...that he'd just had his arm ripped apart, put back together again, and would like a quick quiet word with the person that had done the first of those two things.

The fact that someone was either brave... or foolish enough to follow what he knew as the destroyet brought even more amusement to Anuksu. If this man was going after Maximos with meat and candy, Anuksu would be dissapointed if he didn't see how things turned out. Looking over to Damion, he was forced to appologize, sounding all heroic.
"I'm dreadfully sorry, but our time must be cut short. There happens to be a monster much worse than myself on the loose right now, and this I cannot allow. Excuse me."
He leapt up from his seat, and gracefully strode across the bar, making sure not to step in any of the reproduced lunches, and headed for Sunstrike. His approach was not threatening in any manner, and was certainly not that of a predator approaching his prey. He had been forced to learn this, for one didn't always want to scare the fish away. Once he found himself behind the man, he spoke in his soft completely honest tone.
"Pardon me my good sir. I understand that you are not familair with me, but there are more urgent matters at hand. Know only that am Anuksu, and that I am a benefactor in this matter, for I understand your reasoning for your will to catch up with the shadow, and do not wish for your pursuit to meet any roadblocks. May I help you out of this establishment?"
He smiled at sunstrike, his fangs showing ever so slightly above his lower lip. If there was ever a time to appear the hero, this was it. And such moments do indeed have their uses.

Things seemed to happen so quickly.
Katie had just nodded to Sunstrike when he introduced himself.
"Hi, my name is Katie-"
And then Maximos was awake, latching onto Sun's arm with fervor. She was about to step in and try to pull the man off, except Sun was saying not to move. She would do just that. It was like watching a wild animal. The worst thing to do was immediately react.
It was a good thing she hadn't reacted. Maximos let go of Sun's arm and stormed off.
Katie didn't know exactly what Maximos was, but it was obvious that he needed to feed off of flesh and blood. At least that's what she was gathering. He didn't come across as the vampire type, but maybe he was and she'd missed that along the way.
To answer Madison's question.
"I-I don't know."
Why was she suddenly staring at Madison? It had to be the bunny ears. They were so...fluffy.
She blinked and glanced towards the door where Sun had moved. A rather large man was blocking it, but he didn't scare her. She was taller, by eight inches. The way he was blocking the door he brought an air about himself. It was as though he was commanding they all stay locked within the bar. It annoyed her.
D=<
She walked over to the door, standing next to Sun, looking down at the man at the door. Her hands came to her hips, fingers sprayed. It was her signature look. It meant she was annoyed.
"Is there a problem?"
She wasn't a minute too late. It seemed the vampire wanted a piece of the action. He was a sneaky one.
"Watch blood breath around Maximos."
She quickly stated to Sunstrike. If Sun had glanced her way he'd note the untrusting look she had in her eyes. The Vampire boy was up to something that revolved around Maximos. She was almost quite sure of this. She had been quite sure of this the moment he appeared in the Dead Forest with them.

Deitric stood a few feet away while some stranger blocked the door to the tavern.
So he waited off near where his bike was to see what happened.

" No insult taken, and remember that I am Damion, as I will remember your name." The earth elemental offered as Anuksu moved off to help Sunstrike, sighing alittle as he finally located what he had been looking for, pulling out a small emerald from his pocket. " Well...I suppose whatever work I had here is over with....."
Now was time to leave? Now was time to leave. And since everyone looked pretty undecided about what to do with this, Damion would solve the problem." M'gonna owe them a chair...." He grumbled before scooping up the seat that Anuksu had vacated, starting forward through the people slowly before rearing back with the chair and throwing it, as hard as possible, at the behemoth blocking his way.
" It's rude to stand in doorways." He grumbled, chasing the chair, keeping close to the flying object, thouigh he was somewhat restrained by people being in the way and such. Would someone likely be pissed at him? Yeah, most likely, but not as pissed as the man whose food he just stepped in, a salad Damion thought, as he hopped up on a table for the final jump, leaping in the air with his knees tucked in and his body tilted back somewhat.
