"I'm fine.. just... fine." her voice sounded strained as she tore her gaze away from the happy couple and looked up at Felix's kind face. She forced a smile.
"Th.. thank you."
A few issues of the Gory Gazette were dropped onto their table by an over eager Iris Clops who pressed a copy into Jewels' hands.
"Hot off the presses!" She looked around, then at Felix, frowning a little. "Say.... where IS our Scream King?"
Jewels shrugged. "I haven't seen him."
"Oh dear, well if I see him, i'll be sure to send him your way. Have a great night... your majesty!" Iris grinned, curtseyed and rushed off to distribute more papers.
Jewels shook her head, bewildered... then she looked down and read the headline.
"oh... goodness... "

Demona looked at Jewels, she instinctively held onto Kai's arm. "Dude, haven't you ever gone to Deadtention before?" she shrugged "its not all that bad really, I get some good Z's in there." She looked worried. "Do you think Jewels hates me?"

Ascreama returned from the refreshments table feeling satisfied. She had emergency snacks in her purse, just in case. The blob pulled out a chair next to Meme and her friends and slurped on her Pepscream.
"Oh glob.." Ascreama pulled the chair in, staring at the large picture on the front on one of the newspapers that had appeared on the table in her absence, "What's that about?" She looked up to Jewels, who simply blinked at the paper in her hands.

Ronan looked at the paper himself.
"Isn't Marceline dating Rorrim?" He asked, frowning in bafflement. Maybe he'd misunderstood, but he was pretty certain that was the case.
Jewels shook her head.
"That... reporter... noneofthisistrue!" She looked close to tears, pacing backward and forward as she tried to think of how to fix this misunderstanding.

Wringing her hands, Jewels continued to pace and mutter to herself. Then she stopped.
"We have to get rid of these papers... before he arrives and she... she sees."
A purple haired troll ghoul stepped forward and rested a hand on Jewels' shoulder.
"Hey.. calm down. We'll sort this out. Get Iris to write a retraction right?"
Jewels nodded hesitantly, sniffing a little. "You... aren'tsupposedtobethe..levelheaded one..."
Bridget the troll ghoul smiled softly. "First time for everything."
"But.. whatdoIdo???" Jewels chewed her lip. How could she stop this rumour mill from building? "I... I should tell them. Hextthem, explain.. so when they arrive... "

Sally pulled her attention away from Shad and.. his date, and looked at Jewels. She glanced down at the article and tilted her head.
"Love...?" She looked up at Jewels. She didn't really understand the whole "love" thing, but it didn't seem Jewels felt that way towards Rory. They both seemed uncomfortable, really. She shook her head "It's all a huge misunderstanding. Surely no one believes it." she tilted her head. Well, she couldn't believe it anyway.

He took the paper from her hands and read the large headline, LOVE AT FIRST FRIGHT. "Um, Jewels? What's this about?" he asked in confusion. If she was smooching on Rorrim, and he was dating Marceline, then why did Tori ask him to go with Jewels if she already had a boo? As he thought, he saw she began to worry and tear up, uh oh. He had to do something. "Hey, hey, it's okay," he said to relax her. So it was a rumor? Man, the school had a weird way of operating things.

Jewels looked up at Felix, nodding jerkily as she carefully dabbed at her eyes. She didn't want to smear her makeup.
"s. should I make an announcement? What do I do? Gossipspreadsaroundthisschool likeaplague... " She shook her head. "I have to find Iris."
She rushed off into the crowd to find that cyclops.

She smiled and curtsied, walking with him to the punch station. She got two cups, and poured them both some punch. Or... Whatever that red liquid was. She shuttered at the thought and handed him his cup. Awkward silence."So uh... How are you?"

Motthew nodded a thanks as he took the punch and took a drink. He blinked. It was very sweet, but wasn't exactly what he expected. He rubbed his head and looked at her. "Uh, good. Yeah." He said. There was another awkward silence as they stood there. Why was it suddenly so weird? "Are uh, you having fun?" He asked.

Willow simply listened to what was going on, not wanting to interrupt anyone. A rumor was going around now? Maybe...but she wasn't sure what she should do. Homeschooling meant no rumors to spread, for the most part.
Seeing Jewels rush off to find someone named 'Iris' made her a bit worried, "Um...Hopefully this rumor doesn't get out of hand.''

She frowned a little, staring at the ground. "Honestly, not really. I believe my date has a thing for that clown ghoul. It seemed so much easier for him to compliment her than it was to me..." She sighed. Why was everything so complicated?
