"You and me both." Van said placing a kiss on Mala's cheek as they walked and he put an arm around her shoulders.
((Hrmm...I've got a leetle idea for a leetle plot twist for Mala and Van, but I'm not sure how to do it...))
"I do, but not like that." Riley said simply. "I'd rather wait for if and when I get a girlfriend to be happy like that."

Alek kept holding her, with the patience a century brought.
Angel looked at him shyly, some of her lust MAYBE leaking into her voice, just a little as she murmured, "Um, I could be your girlfriend, if you want..."

Riley seemed to deadpan. "Uh, thanks, I think, but I'm afraid I'll have to pass..." he said awkwardly. Thank god Mala and Van weren't around to see this. "For one thing I barely know you..."

After a while, Ceri stopped crying. She let go, and wiped her eyes. "For the gods, why am I crying?" she asked herself a little loudly. She sniffled. "That's not what a leader needs to do..."

At the manliest, innermost core of his soul, he did honestly want to say yes, as any man would when it came to sex. Especially considering that Riley was twenty three and still a virgin, even when Van offered to get him a prostitute for his twenty first birthday. Shame Riley had been raised by goody-two shoes Mala for sixteen years previously. Stupid morals. "I....appreciate the offer, I think, but I think I'll have to politely decline...."

"Well, you wanted food...this seems to be the go-to place..." Van said as they turned a corner, finding a seemingly endless street lined with restaurant after restaurant.
"I'd really feel better about saying yes if we actually knew each other better. Until then, it's a no. We barely met two days ago." Riley said.

Riley sighed, not prepared to deal with this situation at all. "Snuggling and bed time story or sex. One or the other but not both." he said firmly, regretting his words almost right away as he had a good feeling he knew the answer.
((I get the distinct feeling Riley's about to lose his virginity. XD ))
