Bastion, after his long walk across the village from his flower shop, finally made it to the gates of the village. It wasn't much of a gate, more of a crevice than a gate but when you build a gate in the crevice you get a rather successful village huh? His sister Ayame had told him to meet her here, she also mentioned going to get someone else so maybe she wouldn't be there right away, he hoped to see her again though. He mostly hoped he'd actually be able to see her, when she stopped by he didn't really get to see her, he just heard her, his bad vision not really allowing him to see her, even though he knew she was coming already. There were a few chakra signatures around the gate, mostly just civilians, but there was one or two rather big chakra, one that was almost pitch black, and rained around the persons body like lightning. It was rather interesting but he didn't know the man, or what he looked like so he decided not to bother him about it, Bastion wasn't much of a talker. Little did he know that man would be one of his partners.

Theodin was stil standing around near the gates waiting for Ayame, Bast, and anyone else she might've decided to bring along on the mission. After a while, He noticed a guy walking up to the crevice that he didn't recognize, but was wearing a headband. Walking up to the guy, Theodin decided to introduce himself, "Hey, you must be a new shinobi, I'm Theodin. Did Ayame tell you to meet her at the gate?" Getting closer , the young jounin saw that the new guy was blind, and couldn't help but wonder why his mom might've picked a blind genin for this mission...

The soft thud of boots in the sand would greet the ears of those at the Gates. Bast approached calmly in white robes with a dark blue hem and her hair tied up behind her head. She appeared to be fully equipped for battle, though this time she lacked the Kage's hat that she usually wore. Without saying anything, she leaned up against a shaded part of the Crevice and took a swig of tea from her flask.
There wasn’t much around the gate that he could really see, just the few chakra auras, some sand at his feet, and whatever was a few feet in front of him. He stood next to the gate, waiting for little more than a minute before the black chakra aura he had seen started walking towards him. Bastion could also see the chakra of who he knew was the Kazekage, but she was fairly far away and Bastion didn’t want to bother her. When the black chakra approached him and spoke he could tell the voice was from a boy, who was asking him if his sister had told him to go there. “Oh yes, I am new, sadly… Sorry, I’m Bastion, Bastion Yamanaka, and yes I was asked to come to the gate, I’m sorry if I kept anyone waiting. I had a few remedial tasks to complete around my shop before I came.” Bastion said, his voice was calm and confident, yet soft and welcoming.

Ayame and Daichi walked up to the gates and looked at those that were already there. She was going on a mission with Bast.....this was slightly strange."Well almost everyone is here. As soon as Kaori and Aika show up I can fill you guys in on what we are doing."She was slightly nervous with Bast standing right there and only hoped that she was doing what she needed. Daichi went straight to Bast and lay in the cool sand near her feet. He kept his head up and watched the sands beyond the gate, he was ready to go. He'd never been to Konoha before so he was kind of excited.

Kaori and Nova both nearly drew up short when they saw Bast, the Kage, at the gate, but without her hat or the actual Kage robes. What had been going on while she was training with Knives? She shook her head as Nova huffed and trotted to the crevice and stopped near all the others, Theodin, Bast, Daichi, Ayame and a male she had never encountered before, wait was he blind? Kaori shook her head, so very confused, but she would keep her mouth shut, "Sorry It took us a so long." She said as Nova came to a complete stop and let her get off of her back. Nova walked over and sat near Daichi, near enough, in fact, to practically be pressed against the wolf's side. Kaori shook her head and smiled slightly, it was nice to see her partner finding a friend, canine though he was, neither of them had really cared for others before, but it was soothing in a way now. "But we're here now, what is the mission?" She asked as she started going through her pouches to make sure she had everything she might need.

As always the light jingles announced Aika's arrival as she walked up behind Ayame and Kaori. "Lots of tamers today. Tracking group?" She asked the two as she moved up next to them honestly curious. She hadnt been in the field in a while and wanted to know what to expect, needing to shake the rust off.

Smiling slightly as the new genin apologized , he said “No worries, man, you didn’t keep anyone waiting. Nice to meet you, Bastion.” When he noticed other people showing up, he looked around. He didn’t bother Bast since she seemed to prefer hanging out in the shade. As Ayame approached, he said quickly, “Hey mom, er, sorry, Lady Kage, I’m still getting used to the change, I guess…” Theodin scratched the back of his head, slightly embarrassed. As Kaori and Aika joined the group, Theo turned back to Ayame, “Whoa, big group for this mission, should be interesting.”

Bastion gave the man, Theodin, that was speaking to him a warm smile as he told him there was no problems and that it was nice to meet him, at this point some more chakra auras had made themselves visible to him, apparently they had a rather large group, and allot of four legged creatures, which slightly bothered him. He was slightly afraid of animals, after growing up with so many, it was an extremely weird fear. Then once the man walked off, going over to the aura he knew to be his sisters he called her a few names, "Mom" and "Lady Kage" were two big ones... but that was something he would have to ask his "sister" about later. Bastion turned his body to the large group of people, keeping his distance from them, he was merely invited he didn't plan on intruding too much into their business or their group. If he was wanted he would be invited over to them, right? His hand raised slightly to wave at the new aura's, that of a rosy pink, and another purple aura around he, he didn't know many of those people personally, maybe he'd seen one or two of them before on the streets... well not seen, but saw their auras more likely.

Ayame shook her head at Theodin and gave a small smile. It was going to take some getting used to to her as well."Ok so here's the deal. Earlier I heard some of the villagers talking about how Konoha had it's borders locked down. I want to find out why and also speak to the Hokage about our little visitor from Kiri trying to form an alliance. I only asked all of you because the only mission you three have been on is the evac at Saraswati."She said looking to Theodin, Aika, Kaori, and Nova."Lady Bast hasn't been out of the village in a while and I am sure she is ready to get out at least for a little bit and cause some ruckus. This will be Bastion's first mission, and it will get some experience for all of you. Be wary though and always be prepared for anything. James, Knives, Daichi and I were ambushed not very far from the gates when I was a genin and we were coming back from the chunnin exams. Stay on your toes."She then looked around and put her hands on her hips, "Any questions?"

Theodin stood listening to Ayame explain what they were going to be doing, as well as why she picked who she did. He nodded as she warned about the dangers, citing her own past experience being attacked not far from the gates. When she asked if they had any questions, Theodin noded again, "Sounds straightforward to me." He then checked his kunai and shuriken, making sure they were within easy reach, as well as adjusting his swords and flak jacket, just to be sure he was ready if a situation got serious.

Bastion stood at the back of the herd of shinobi and just listened at his sister, or well the Kage spoke. He was a part of the group now, and it seemed like a fairly simple mission, then again it's not everyday when a Kage and a former Kage step out of their villages. For all they knew this could be a very rough, long, and hard journey. Surely someone would have heard about this and want to attempt to pick off the Kages on their journey to a new village. There was no reason to worry though, they would be surrounded by well trained, highly educated shinobi, and him. Plus if anyone even attempted to get near them Bastion would be able to tell, being a sensor had some major perks to it. Besides the what if's, there were no real questions, at least that he had. Hopefully his sister had he whole plan figured out. Bastion checked in his bag to see if he had everything that would be needed, flower petals, multiple assorted things to throw that have blades on them, and few snacks from his home. After ensuring he had most if not all of his stuff, he looked up at Ayame and nodded softly to her, he still hardly knew any of his partners in this mission.
"See so much..."

Bast enjoyed some of the confused looks she got from passersby and some of the others who had shown up, but contributed nothing to their conversation. She nodded along to Ayame's explanation calmly, and offered an addendum at the end of it:
"Konoha still thinks I'm the Kazekage, rather than Ayame. I'm entirely content to leave them with that impression until a later date. If they're planning an invasion, it would be better for me to be their target, after all. On the subject of the border lock down, our information seems to suggest that the Kyuubi might be on a rampage."
She stepped out of the shade and joined the rest of the group, taking a swig of tea as she did so. The desert was unforgiving, but that was why they had settled there; the heat was less an obstacle and more an added defense.

Ayame nodded,"Most think when villages are in a transition of power they are weak and will strike as Lady Bast said. Let them continue to believe that, Lady Bast is our Kage. Stay in protective formation around her, we are her guard as she travels so as not to draw attention. Bastion keep your senses open at all times watching for anything. Daichi and I can hear and smell miles away as an added bonus."Ayame made sure her katana was secure on her back and adjusted the bracer on her right arm."Alright everyone in formation and stay alert." Ayame would let everyone get into formation then they would head out of the gates and towards Konoha.
