Kai closed his eyes also, knowing he wouldn't get any sleep. He had too much on his mind.
Where am I? wondered before smirking at the absurdity of the statement. He opened his eyes and examined the burn on his palm, flexing his hand slowly. What if the other me doesn't want to go back to the way we were?

Boris stopped outside of Taki's door in a brief moment of uncertainty before he strengthened his resolve. I have to do this. For Rei. I can;t let anyone get in the way of the future.
He slammed open the door and stepped inside, looking around the room quickly, taking stock of what was happening.

Sonia looked up at Kai and froze. "Kia..." She said slowly. "Who the hell is that?"
She continued to look at Kai in absolute horror silently. She had observed the surgical team constructing this boys face. Kia couldn't have known that it was an imposter.
Kai, oblivious to this put Fayina down gently and remained at her level, pointing to Bryan's back. "See? He's right over there."
He looked up and called to get Bryan's attention. "Bryan! Kisa's here to see you!" He said, hoping Bryan wouldn't ruin the delicate reign Fayina's learnt personality had over her true one.
Fayina bit her lip and began to walk over to Bryan, head down and studying the floor.

Bryan turned his head around to look at Kai. "Kisa?" what's he playing at now...
He looked over at Fayina and raised an eyebrow at the unusual behaviour. Ok, what happened to her?
"Kisa?" he asked quietly.
Kia looked at Sonia. "That is Kai," she turned to study Kai, "But i'm not sure which one he is. He's either number 1 or number 2. If i have to say one thing about this place, it's that they have some damn fine plastic surgeons. Can re-create anybody."
She smiled before turning back to Kevin. "So, where's the other two...shouldn't Taki be with both of them?"
Kevin blinked before scratching his head, "Well, they said they had some other important business they needed to attend to..umm..urgently."
Kia raised an eyebrow. "Taki? Takin care of important business?"
Kevin nodded before laughing nervously, "Yep, that's what he said."
"in other words, he got him self hurt and he doesn't want you to tell me."
kevin slumped. "Yes, pretty much."
Kia shook her head, "Ok then...how bad?"
"Umm, " Kevin looked around the room.

Taki's eyes snapped open and he sat up quickly, much to the protest of his shoulder.
His eyes snapped closed as he winced, trying not yell out. He opened them slowly to give Boris a glare, tightening the hold on his blade.

"s**t!" Kai said loudly, standing up, eyes wide.
Boris looked at Kai and indicated for him to move over beside Taki with his head, pointing his gun directly at the dark-haired Russian. "You know it's not nice to shout obscenities at people." He told Kai reproachfully.
"You know, it's not very nice to point guns at people." Kai replied, his hand slowly reaching into his pocket.
Boris noticed the movement and scowled, turning the gun to face Kai and firing directly beside the bluenette's head. "Whatever you're reaching for, don't." He ordered before he turning back to Taki.
Kai, having just received the shock of his life, stayed silent, his face almost white.
"Now Taki, Why can't you just die?" He asked. "Honestly, is it really that hard for you?"

"I'm the second one." Kai told Sonia, noticing Brooklyn. "s**t! What happened?" He demanded, walking quickly over to stand beside Tala.
Sonia frowned and continued to watch Kai warily, it wasn't natural to have dealings with a clone. His very existence was just wrong
Fayina ignored all of them and looked up at her 'brother'. "Ni-san?" She asked before looking down again at the floor in a gesture uncanny to Bryan's sister's. "Are you angry at me?" She asked.

Bryan looked at Fayina warily before looking up at Kai and back again. "Umm..no. Why would i be angry at you?"
Tala looked up at Kai and shrugged. "He's fine really, a little sleep deprivation never killed anyone."
He thought about that for a moment. "At least i don't think it has killed anyone yet." he shook his head. "He's just a little exhausted, that's all."
He turned his blue eyes to look at Kia and Kevin. Kia had her arms folded and watched as Kevin seemed to be explaining a lot of things. Her eyes widened with every new thing Kevin was saying.
"What's happening over there?" Tala asked Kai, "Kia doesn't look too happy."

Taki's knuckles turned white as he gripped the handle of his blade. He narrowed his eyes at Boris.
Doesn't look like i'm going to get out of this one...
"You seem to be making a habit of Killing people, Balcov," he started, knowing he'd be rubbing salt into the wound, "like Kia for example." His voice was calm but inside he was anything but.
"I have no intention of dieing, though, so i won't," he stated, "just like..."
His eyes flicked up so that he was staring into Boris', making sure that the older man was paying attention to what he was saying.
"Kiana."

Boris scowled. "Kiska?" He asked, spitting the word out like it was distasteful. She's been dead for a year now." He stated flatly. "Whatever delusions you're having about her don't try to bring me on them."
He sighed and pointed the Gun directly at Taki's head, aiming carefully so he would know that the troublesome teen was really gone. "Say hi to her for me." He told Taki before squeezing the trigger.
"NO!" Kai yelled over the sound of the gunshot. He watched the bullet come out of Boris' gun in slow motion, ignoring the sudden hot feeling in his pocket.
He didn't notice as Dranzer exploded from her disk to fly in front of Taki and form a wall of fire between him and the piece of metal destined to be his demise.
Kai blinked as he felt Dranzer tapping into his strength to make her plumage become white hot. He gasped and covered his eyes, not being able to look at his spirit.
Boris covered his eyes to shield them from the brightness, not being able to comprehend what was happening.
Dranzer's blaze dulled as she continued to hover in front of Taki. She looked directly at Boris and spat out a piece of melted metal contemptuously.
Kai took his cue from Dranzer and moved to stand beside the phoenix. "Get. Out." He said firmly.
Boris looked at the piece of metal that had once been the bullet intended for Taki. "So that's how it is, is it?" He asked, looking at Dranzer and then back at Kai. "I wanted to know where Black Dranzer's counterpart was."

Fayina shook her head. "I don't know." She told Bryan, looking up at him and wrapping her arms around his waist. "I can't remember." She said quietly before burying her face in Bryan's side.
Kai looked at Tala and remembered why he loved the redhead. He couldn't imagine what Kia had to be thinking while Kevin explained all of the gory details. He didn't even want to think what he'd do if it was Tala.
"Taki got shot." He said bluntly. He then looked over at Fayina. "And that little rugrat's the one that did it."

Bryan raised an eyebrow at her. This was...unnusual, but he was going to play along anyway. he wrapped an arm around the small girl.
"Then there's nothing for me to be angry for," he stated, "Ok now?"
Tala's eyebrows shot up at the bit of information. "Really? That's so bad."Yes! He was mentally punching the air in victory at the thought of Taki being shot.
"I take it he's not dead by the tone of your voice,"Even better, he's in pain. I guess if you're going to have grudge against someone, you better put some effort into it.
Kia shook her head at Kevin and turned on her heel, walking back over to the others, her face flicking between worried and pissed off.
"Well, since a certain someone got himself hurt and i'm stuck here, i'll sort you guys out first." She looked around at the group. "Weren't you all going to rest somewhere?" she asked before looking around for Sonia.

Taki blinked at the large, fiery bird. Where the hell did that come from?
He was silently thanking the heavens for it's appearance though. A little longer and he would have been...gone.
He looked between Kai and the phoenix, figuring that they must be connected to each other somehow. He looked over at Boris and smirked.
He told him he wasn't going to die, didn't he? Someone up there liked him, or hated him and was just a lousy shot a delivering the sentence.
I guess i owe Kai now...
((yes, he owes Kai his life...*evil snicker*))

"Now you've found her." Kai told Boris, glaring hotly at the elder. "I believe I told you to leave" He said firmly.
Boris blinked and sighed, tucking away his gun. "I don't have anything to beat that." He said gesturing toward Dranzer. He looked at Kai with a hint of amusement. "Though you've now prved to me you're the one I was looking for. Thank-you." He said with a small nod before turning to the door.
"Oh, and Taki?" He asked, looking over his shoulder. "Kai won't always be around to protect you." He turned back to the front and walked out the door.
He had some things to think about.

Fayina bit her lip and looked up at Bryan, nodding. "'Kay." She said quietly, tightening her hold around the lavender-haired teen's waist. "Thanks Ni-san." She whipsered, more to herself than anyone.
Sonia looked up at Kia and rose, straightening her clothes. "I'll get that sorted out right away." She said before looking over at Bryan. She blinked when she saw the very similar little girl. "Who is this?" She asked.
"Bryan's little sister, Kisa." Kai intervened, giving Bryan a look to make him continue with the charade.
Fayina looked up when she thought she heard her name. "Who're you?" She asked curiously.

Kia looked down at the girl and raised an eyebrow. "Wait.. i thought that w-"
Bryan started coughing while giving Kia a look. Kia blinked and formed her mouth into an 'oh' or understanding.
"-was Bryan's little sister," she said to Sonia, smiling brightly.
Tala looked between Fayina and the other's, clearly confused. "i think i may have missed something here," he admitted, wolborg nodding beside him.

Taki narrowed his eyes at the door. "Well maybe i'll just superglue myself to him you old fool," he muttered.
He looked over at Kai. "Actually i don't want to be superglued to you, on second thought, no offence or anything."
He sighed and looked over at Dranzer, "Thanks for that, both of you, i guess i owe you now." He thought back over what Boris had said.
"Feh! I can't believe he just called me delusional," he muttered, falling back down onto his bed and closing his eyes, thinking for a moment.
He stood up abruptly and looked over at Kai. "Right, we're leaving," he announced.

Kai's eyes widened at Taki's proposal. "We're not leaving." He said firmly. "Why do you want to?" He asked, sitting back down on his chair.
He looked at Dranzer and nodded, giving her a half smile. Flames, that's why her plumage looked so strange. It was flames he thought as he contemplated Taki's sudden want for movement.
"You do know that our best bet of safety is to stay here where Dranzer can protect us?" He asked.
Dranzer nodded back at Kai and slowly disappeared back into her disk, satisfied that she'd saved both Taki and the bluenette from their untimely demises.

"You are not the only one." Sonia said, suspicion back in her eyes. She looked at Fayina, frowning, knowing that she had seen her face before.
Kai wrapped an arm around Tala's waist and whispered into the redhead's ear. "Don't ask, don't tell."
"I'm Sonia." She said to Fayina, offering the little girl a smile. "What's your name?"
"Kisa." Fayina said, returning Sonia's smile.
Sonia nodded and beckoned toward a door halfway along the big hall. "Come this way and I'll help you find somewhere to rest."
Fayina looked down and noticed Brooklyn. "What's wrong with Brook-sama?" She asked Bryan. "Is he ok?"
"He's fine." Sonia told her with a reassuring smile. "He just needs to get some sleep in a bed."
Pacified, Fayina looked up at Bryan. "Are you taking him there?" She asked him innocently.

Tala smiled at Kai slightly, fully aware of the arm now around his waist. It was weird, this person looked like Kai, talked like him, heck it was him in spirit but, that arm, it just felt...
Wrong.
Bryan smiled at Fayina, "Yer, i'm taking him there," he assured her, "not only that, i think i might get some rest too."
Tala looked up at 'rest'. "Finally? So where are we going?" He looked around to find Sonia and follow her.
Kia frowned. All this moving around and Mariah hadn't got back yet. Not to mention Taki and his injury.

Taki looked over at Kai incredulously. "How can we not leave? We're like a barrel of fish here, and they're shooting into it."
Taki watched the large fire bird leave. "Well, she seems mobile enough, bring her with us. We're not staying in here."
He walked over to his wardrobe and pulled out a dark coat. "And i'm not wearing my uniform anymore."

"Where are we going to go then?" Kai asked, remaining firmly seated. "In case if you hadn't forgotten you were shot less than an hour ago." He sighed and looked down at Dranzer's disk.
"I don't know how well she can defend us in an open space." He said truthfully. "I think that most of the reason she did so well just before was because she only had to cover a limited amount of space. I don't know how we'd go in a hallway."

Kai noticed something different in the way that Tala felt when he had his arm around the redhead. His face didn't show anything but there was something in his stance that showed a different emotion.
Kai just couldn't pinpoint what it was.
Sonia looked away from Fayina and began to walk toward the door she had pointed out before, brushing past Kia. "Whatever you're hiding about that little girl I want to know." She murmured as she walked past the brunette.
Louder she said "Come on, it's just up this hall and there's a bunch of abandoned rooms. Stay to the left of the hallway, that way you'll stay out of the range of the cameras. When we get to a corner wait for my signal before you run around it."
Fayina grinned up at her 'big brother'. "Am I going to get some rest as well?" She asked.

(( aw damn... i'm back to being quiet bryan...))
Bryan nodded, standing up before bending over to pick Brooklyn up bridal stlye. He looked down at Fayina before following Sonia, "If you want to get some rest, i think we all need it," he said, smiling slightly.
Tala nodded, agreeing with the falcon. "That's for sure," he said as he began to follow as well.
Kia shook her head at Sonia, wondering how she was going to explain Fayina when she didn't even know what suddenly went wrong.
"I'll stay out here. I need to wait for Mariah and anyone else," she said looking over at them, "Sweet dreams, guys."

Taki shrugged as he pulled the dark coat on, not even bothering with his left. "I don't know, somewhere where i don't feel like a sitting duck."
After he ad the coat on he turned back to Kai and sighed. "Look, you know we can't stay here either, it's a lose lose situation so we may as well try and find the others. Strength in numbers and all that."
He turned to his door and poked his head out and looked around. "We need to move quickly and we need to do it now, otherwise we may not have another chance."

Kai sighed and stood slowly, seeing that he wasn't going to win. "If we die I'm going to kill you." He said flatly, his hand moving to his pocket to hold Dranzer's disk loosly.
He sighed and looked at the door. "What I want to know is how he found us." He muttered.
Kai moved to stand behind Taki. "All clear?" He asked, brushing a strand of stray hair out of his eyes.

Kai sighed silently as he watched Tala walk away from him after Sonia. He's not mine anymore[/i he thought regretfully, walking slowly after the redhead. He's Kai's
Kai frowned as he felt a small bubble of resentment pop in his belly, spreading throughout his body. WHy did they have to do this to me? he wondered, looking at his familiar and yet strange hands.
Brooklyn stirred in Bryan's grip. "Bry?" He asked quietly, half opening teal eyes. "What's happening?"
Fayina watched Brooklyn and Bryan warily, not sure why she was feeling uneasy. "I'm not that tired Ni-san." She told Bryan before looking at Kia. "Can I stay here with you?"
Sonia ignored her and opened the door holding it open for Tala. "Remember. Stay on the left." She reminded the rehead as he walked past."

Boris walked back into the office he had left to go and hunt Taki. "Have you found our shadow-lurker?" he asked the abused technicians.

The nearest person shook his head. "Disappeared into thin air after that."
Another man stood up. "These people are cunning, Sir, they've worked out the camera's and are evading them."

Tala nodded and walked through the door, doing as instructed and keeping to the left.
Kia blinked down at Fayina. "Sure, sweetie," she looked up at Bryan, "As long as it's ok with your brother."
Bryan looked over and nodded at Kia and fayina before looking back at Bryan. "We're off to get some rest, that's what we're doing." He looked the other over it. "You seem to need it the most."

Taki snorted. "You can't kill me," he muttered, "for the last time, i'm invincible."
He looked around again, "I think there maybe a camera in here somewhere."
he looked over his shoulder, "We'll have to avoid the ones in the hall somehow or Boris will be after up like a shot. Got it?"

"How are we meant to avoid cameras when we don't know where they are?" Kai asked, looking back into Taki's room.
As far as he could see there was nothing in there to even suggest a camera.
He turned back to Taki and poked him in his uninjured shoulder. "Try telling the bullet in your shoulder that you're invincible."

Brooklyn frowned and shook his head. "I'm perfectly fine." He protested, spoiling the effect by yawning widely. He sighed and closed his eyes. "Ok. Maybe not."
Fayina grinned and walked over to Kia, reaching up to take the brunette's hand. "Thanks.' She said quietly.
Kai followed Tala's example and walked down the left of the corridor, looking at the ground, depressed.
Sonia followed Kai into the hallway, eyes focussing on the corner at the approximate place the camera would be. She had to figure out the angle that would let everyone walk past the camera without being caught.

Boris growled silently as he looked at the changing pictures of the security camera. "Right then." He said quietly to himself.
To the techs he barked another order. "Keiji got away I want you to track his movements and tell me exactly where he goes."
He looked around the room searching for one person. "Where's Sonia?" He asked.
