Kokirii grinned. "Yeah. Thanks..." she said. A thin line of blood ran from her chin...a paper cut was all that she had suffered. She wiped it away thoughtfully. "You know...I believe you are my favorite. You're the only one who doesn't try to tell me what to do." she said. She yawned again. "See you tomorrow okay?" she said, heading off. [Enter from Main Street] "Ugh. Everyone lest already. This kind of sucks, I needed to learn those jutsu. Oh well, time to learn some Doton. Let's look at that scroll, see what we have to learn." Jubei said, his recent missions having mentally drained him of almost all patience he had possessed. All he wanted was to learn some more jutsu, preferably some genjutsu as well, then get along to the docks. He was just sick, and tired, and a little annoyed. Jubei opened the doton scroll and skipped to the Genin section, scanning the jutsu listed within until he found a couple he would have liked to perform. Something special, really, that would help him out if he ever ran out of shuriken. "Doton: Shuriken no Jutsu (Earth Release: Stone Shuriken Skill), basically turning dirt into sharp throwing weapons with chakra. That's pretty cool, when I think about it, and useful. Time to get with it," Jubei muttered quietly as he picked up a handful of dirt and began the process of molding it into a few shuriken. It wasn't a long, hard process as one might imagine; in fact it was quite simple. No hand seals, just chakra and molding. Jubei was good with that kind of stuff. Soon enough he had a couple of shuriken in his hands, all made from stone. He tossed them at a nearby training dummy, and they all stuck. They were good to go, and Jubei had this one all down.
"All right, next is the Doton: Jihibiki Kansei no Jutsu (Earth Release: Earth Tremor Sense Technique). Used to sense tremors or vibrations in the ground. These tremors indicate movement, which the user can sense, although he or she doesn't know who exactly it is. The range is half a mile. Useful. Time to learn it." Jubei studied the technique in the scroll and place dhis hands on the ground, pumping the required amount of chakra into it and feeling for any sensations or tremors that could indicate movement. It took a bit of practice and patience, something that he was quickly running low on, but Jubei wait and it paid off. At first it was a small sensation, but then it was a steady tremor that indicated some nearby movement. Jubei looked up and spotted a squirrel, hopping along. "A useful technique when I'm not surrounded by nature. Good for the Chuunin Exams. All right, now, to learn some Genjutsu."

"Who is Megumi? The Jounin chick?" No, I didn't hear, what happened? Jubei asked, only slightly curious as to the identity of whomever this Megumi woman was, and what was going on with her. He really could care less, it wasn't as if he really knew anyone named Megumi. He would remember a name that... Strange, really. It truly didn't matter, since Taiji would tell him all about it eventually. Instead, he concentrated on learning a genjutsu. Kyuukai Nikutai Oshuu no Jutsu (Rotting Flesh Foul Smell Technique), makes the target imagine an overpowering smell of rotting flesh. Can cause nausea, loss of concentration, and vomiting. Good. Jubei mused, concentrating on the genjutsu and what it entailed. He wasn't that great with Genjutsu, but he was by no means horrible in learning and using it. He had the ability, but this was really his first genjutsu and he could have powered through it, but he wanted to take some time. He wanted to learn it, master it, and all of that. So Jubei concentrated on the jutsu and, after putting the chakra into it, performed it. He had no idea if it would work, so he tried it on the squirrel he had encountered earlier. It began heaving and everything, looking sick and horrible. He quickly dispelled the genjutsu and went on to other things.
Such as Nagare Isou no Jutsu (Current Transfer Skill), a skill he might actually need. Jubei studied it and found that it transfered an electrical current into whatever it touched, be it weapon or body. He figured that it would be useful until be could manipulate metal at will, so he devoted some time to it. Jubei performed the needed hand seals and forced the electrical chakra into his hand, coating it in raiton chakra. It was pretty cool, but Jubei dispelled it before he could use it on anything. He didn't want Tai to think he was ignoring him, as that would just be rude. Jubei was many things, but he wasn't rude.
"So, where did everyone go?"

"Well, that really blows. Oh well, life goes on, bad things happen. At least she didn't kill our teacher. Where is she, anyway? I still need to learn tree and water walking." Jubei asked as he leaned against a tree, his hands crossed over his chest as he waited for... Something to happen. Anything, really, as long as something happened.
Jubei did not have to wait long, as he had found something very interesting to do while he waited for Taiji to speak to him. Nothing too interesting to warrant any special attention, but it certainly kept Jubei occupied while he waited. Nothing too complex, just throwing around a kunai that had a bit of a dulled edge. It was useless to him until he sharpened the edge, which he would do when he was on the boat and had all the time in the world. So for now, Jubei was just throwing it into the air, absent-minded and bored out of his skull, wondering if his clones would return in time to deliver the news of their success. He still needed several mission, at least ten more, to qualify for the Chuunin Exams. Sure, I passed the prelim test, but I still have to get the missions done and pass the exams. Then I'll be a Chuunin, and on the road to excellence. Hell, maybe I'll be the head of my clan. He mused, the thought of being the head of the Satetsu clan brought a smile to his normally-stoic face. He liked the idea of being the head of his clan, then he could be a lazy b*****d and drink tea all day, play whatever games he wanted to whenever he wanted, and sleep in unless the Hokage gave him a mission. Then he could go out, achieve success, and come back home to a fat stack of cash and a nice, soft pillow. Heck, he'd do the same thing even if he failed the Exams. That's what he wanted to do with his life, be lazy and achieve whatever he wanted to, whenever he wanted to, wherever he wanted to. That's it. Jubei wasn't the ambitious type, or at least he liked to think he wasn't. The Exams might change him, he had no idea of knowing what the future held. He only hoped that if he had to change, it would be for the better. He cringed when he thought that he had the possibility of becoming similar to Megumi, the creepy chick that had quit his squad. He did not want to end up like her, he liked being Jubei, not Megumi. He shuddered at the thought, which proved to be a big mistake, as the kunai he was supposed to throw up was now heading for his neck. He had messed up big time. Despite it being a little dull, it was still sharp enough to cut open a vein and kill him, and that was something he did not want. Jubei didn't know what to do, he couldn't stop it with his hands before it sliced open his neck and ended his life. His life was in danger, real danger, and he didn't know what to do. He stared hard at the incoming kunai, trying to stop it with his mind.
And the damnedest thing happened. It actually did stop.
Jubei wasn't sure if he was dead or not, really, as having the power to stop a kunai in mid-air with no jutsu whatsoever seemed a little... Unreal. Impossible. A lot of words that meant he could not believe what had just happened. On the one hand, it was to be expected as he was of the Satetsu clan, and metal was theirs to control. On the other, it was pretty amazing to see in person, especially after ones' life was just in danger. It was pretty amazing, when he thought about it. The kunai was just floating there, doing nothing, when it should have taken his life. Jubei was stopping it. No one else, just Jubei. Not Taiji or Megumi, not even their Jounin-sensei, but just Jubei. It made him feel... Good. Real good. Almost great, but even he knew that this was just the beginning. He still had to master the rest of the jutsu that existed in his clans scrolls. He needed to master them, and only then could he consider himself a real member of the Satetsu clan.
Jubei manipulated the kunai, guiding it back into his hand. He closed his hand around the shaft of the bladed weapon, his grip tight as he made a personal promise to come back alive, and a Chuunin. He looked up at Taiji and said, "That was cool. Well, I'm off. I'll see you at the exams, man." Jubei said, smiling and waving goodbye to the Uchiha kid when he was hit up by all four of his raiton bushins. The informed him of the various mission that they had performed, successfully at that, and with that Jubei dismissed them all. He had to inform the Hokage, and that's where he was going right now.

[from Hokages office]
"Time to get some more jutsu down, then off for the Chuunin Exams. Let's see... Raikou Henge no Jutsu (Lightning Transformation Technique), something about being a branch of Henge no Jutsu, allows the user to transform in a way they never dreamed of. When performing this skill, the user transforms into an extremely quick 'strand' of lightning. In this quick state, nothing is done slowly - everything is in a rush for the user. However, this strand of lightning is incapable of changing directions on its own. Let's see... It can only change directions by bouncing off another object, such as a tree or a boulder, but the user is capable of bouncing off in any angle they wish to. Then... It is not recommended using this technique in a field with little objects to bounce off of. The Henge automatically dissipates when the user makes contact with a living target. Being in a state similar to lightning, the user plunges completely into their target, and ends up in their physical state on the other side of their opponent. In addition to giving the target a painful electrical shock, this skill may or may not paralyze their opponent. Because of the fast speeds associated with this skill, the user will feel dizzy, confused, and often nauseous for some time afterwards. This technique can be used in conjunction with other jutsu, such as the Call of Lightning Technique, or the Lightning Clone Technique, to confuse the opponent. However, no skills can be used in this state. Wow. This is pretty interesting. I need this stuff." Jubei mumbled to himself, reading verbatim from the raiton scroll as he walked into the training grounds. He wanted to get this and another couple of techniques down before he hit the gates and then the docks, and he didn't have a lot of time. Sunday was almost eher, and he needed to be ready. So Jubei studied the technique in detail, glad that it required no hand seals, and that it seemed to be very simple. It also seemed to be very awesome. So Jubei slapped his hands together, performed the single hand seal necessary for Henge, and used the Lightning Transformation jutsu by pumping himself full of raiton chakra. Suddenly, he was a spark of lightning, flying forward faster than he ever thought possible. It was an awesome feeling, but Jubei was unsure how to end the jutsu. That is, until he hit another member of nature, an organic being, a squirrel, and transformed back into Jubei.
It was awesome, and it was now his.
"That's down, now for Raiton: Raikou Boruto no Jutsu (Lightning Release: Lightning Bolt Technique). A basic ability, much like a fireball, just firing a bolt of raiton energy from the hand. Simple." Jubei performed the necessary hand seals, a lot quicker than previously, something he attributed to his growth as a shinobi and a person. He performed the hand seals and pumped the chakra into his hand, which he pointed at a nearby training dummy and let fly. It wasn't spectacular, but simply a short bolt of lightning that hit the training dummy and singed it a little. It was supposed to electrocute someone slightly, but that's it. Nothing more, nothing less. Still, it was good for distracting someone. "All right, next is doton."

"Hm. This has been bothering me. I can manipulate the iron sand, that's my bloodline, but... Can I take it deeper than that? Can I actually turn it into that iron dust that I've seen in the scrolls and heard about from others? But what do I need to do? I need metal equipment... I need some shuriken. I have shuriken. I can do this" Jubei mumbled softly to himself as he sat against a tree, his exhaustion beginning to catch up with him. He had been running around all day, as well as training, so it was to be expected that he was a little weak right now. Not that it was a problem for him, he was just thinking right now. He was going to leave in a little while, so he could take a moment to contemplate his bloodline inheritance and what it meant to him, and how he could master it. He knew that he wouldn't be mastering it in time for the Chuunin Exams, but when they were over, or maybe even during them, he would be sure to master a few of the techniques. He could at least master the iron sand as a whole, or turn metal objects into iron dust and use that to totally ruin someones day. That was the least he could learn. Jubei pulled out a few shuriken and palmed them, wondering what he needed to do. He could move them around, sure, but he wanted to turn them into sand. Iron sand. But what can I do to turn it into Iron Sand, other than grinding it up into tiny pieces? Wait... Jubei took a little while to muse on the subject when a thought struck him. Hard. Jubei had to grind the metal ninja tools he had into tiny, grain of sand-sized bits which he could manipulate in any way, shape, and form. He would only be limited by his imagination. Jubei palmed the two shuriken he had take out of his holster and stared at them, wondering, when another thought struck him. All he needed to do was to grind it up, and since he could already manipulate the shuriken as a whole... All he needed was to find a way to separate the pieces of the shuriken into grains of... Iron Sand.
Jubei took a moment to concentrate, and went to work. He palmed both shuriken, one in each hand, and poured his chakra into them. He was trying to tear them into pieces, the tiniest pieces he could manage. It was a long process and when he took notice, his black tank top was almost soaked with sweat. His shuriken, though, were barely marked. A few pock marks and a dulled edge, but nothing that could be considered complete mastery. Jubei removed his shirt, sat back down, and went back at it. His eyes closed and his chakra pumping, Jubei envisioned the two shuriken splitting into their smallest parts and floating around him, like a miniature black cloud of iron. Jubei kept his eyes closed and forced his chakra into the metal ninja tools, grinding them into smaller and smaller pieces until they literally flowed over his hands and floated around him. At least, that's what he was imagining right now. His eyes were closed, he had no idea what was really going on. He might have succeeded or he might have failed, he might be imagining everything. Jubei continued to envision manipulating the iron sand, grinding the shiruken into iron particles, despite every urge to open his eyes and see. Jubei finally did so, after a few more moments, and was surprised at what he saw. Pleasantly surprised.
He was doing it. Actually doing it.
He smiled, and brought all of the iron sand together to form a kunai. Then a small dagger. A knuckle duster with spikes. An iron bar. A myriad of things did Jubei form out of the iron sand, nothing as grandiose as a gigantic turtle, but it was something. Something fantastic. Jubei was actually happy, for the first time since he graduated from the Academy, he was genuinely happy. He brought the iron sand back and, instead of forming it into two shuriken, Jubei placed it in his back pouch with his kunai and bombs. Then he took a new, clean shirt out of his backpack and put it on, shouldered his back pack, and headed for the gates.
He had an exam to complete, and a promotion to get.

Tory walks onto the training grounds and sits down and says, "After this hashbrown I will get to training." With a smile and begins training. Tory stands up, focuses his chakra and performs the handsigns to perform the Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Jutsu). As a circle of dust starts to form around Tory's feet, he believes the jutsu is done and releases his hand sign. He looks at himself and notices nothing has changed and he says, "My, my it seems I released the jutsu to early, let's try again." Tory tries the jutsu again, but this time he waits just a little while longer and in a puff of smoke, he transforms into the Hokage. Tory decides to learn the next jutsu the Kawarimi no Jutsu (Substitution Jutsu). But he realized that he needed to be attacked to perform this jutsu so he moved onto the next one. The Bushin no Jutsu (Clone Jutsu). Tory performs the handsign and begins to focus his chakra. He focuses it and evenly distributes it throughout his body. He then expels the chakra out of his body and in a puff of smoke he makes a clone of himself. With a smile he inspects his clone. He inspects the clothes, features of his face, and his smile. After inspections, Tory looks at his clone and gives it a smile. As the clone smiles back he releases the jutsu and runs out of the training grounds to go back to the academy.
