Sorry for last night everyone.
Waffle, my mum and I found the problem with the computer. The fan had apparently gathered dust and cat hair, and we've only had this computer foooooorrrr. . . about a year, I believe.
So, I think it's fine now.

Yeah, it made this very unsettling sound. Sounded like my sister's blowdryer and it also made the unsettling 'rattling noise'.

I assumed it was the fan because the fan and vent are the only two parts of a computer tower that make much noise besides the CD and floppy disk drives.

I should start cleaning out the fan more. Would you say, like, cleaning it weekly would be alright?

Every 2 or 3 weeks is fine, but since the fan is facing upward you can go ahead and clean it weekly if you want.

Pretty much. Having a fan facing up can cause dust to build up when it isn't in use, and cat hair can clog upward-facing vents as well.
( Lol, I hear the Geek Squad thing from a lot of people. )

Weekly is still fine, but if the odd noise returns then clean it more often. You should be good though.

@ Moon: Ten pussied out on us because his Arc was failing, so now we're doing Waffle's. And after Waffle's is mine.
So far Waffle and some of her attendants are missing and the team is looking for her.
@ Everyone else: Who here has an account on Playlist.com/? Because I have an idea for the entire Guild!
