As Saito observed her hand's movements closely his eyes started opening wider and wider, it almost seemed like they were going to pop out of his head any second now.
W...we...well now, that's a...useful skill to have!

Lina tilted her head. "Yeah, it's been great for the short time I've known it." She glanced at Saito. "So I never asked, but why exactly are you here anyway? Just passing through, came in search of training, secretly planning ot make allies of us then stab us in the back, or just going to the fishing hole a few miles north of here?" she asked, not changing her tone a once during her rapid fire but somehow polite sounding string of questions.

"Oh, me? A little bit of just passing by and a little bit of looking for training. I left my village because when the elder died, thugs took over and I didn't feel safe anymore. I left hoping I could get some training and maybe strike them without them ever expecting it one day..."

She tilted her head to the side. "A noble goal, but one that provides temptation it is...." Lina blinked a few times "Gotta stop watching stuff before I sleep" she muttered under her breath. "So what training have you had anyway? Anything that might suggest an element you'd be good at or anything of that sort? " she asked over her shoulder as she started walking again.

Eh? Ele...element? What? I'm from a very very simple village, all I got was this lousy sword. Speaking of elements however...I uh....I was attacked by a lightning wielding person earlier. I still can't figure out how I made it out of there... alive... Actually now that I think about it, she sort of looked like you, how weird is that?

She blinked, making an o shape with her mouth before muttering "Right." she grumbled a bit before moving her hands into some gestures at which point Saito would see three of the girl. "First thing to know about Ninja life..." said one of the illusions. "Is that there are plenty of tricks like what was used on you..." said another. "That exploit the concept of you have ot see it to believe it." said the one who's hands were still making a few gestures before she released the illusion at which point she too vanished.
Saito would hear a crackle of electricity coming from above as the girl hopped down from a tree, Two of her fingers open and electricity arcing between them which soon spread to her whole hand. In her other hand she formed a small ball of white light, without any noise or show, moving both hands forward slowly and non threateningly to demonstrate. "But As nice as making people think you're throwing fireballs or lightning bolts and such things.But once people wise up to them just being tricks, such as explosives or knowing the weather and playing it to your advantage." She grinned a bit. "These are my two strongest elements at the moment in raw form." She tilted her head to the side. "Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, and Electricity are taught here." She tilted her head. "And don't insult your blade, even with many flashy techniques I still prefer my blade."
"But I suppose I'm assuming you're interested in training to be a ninja aren't I?" She shrugged. "Well we can see the headmistress of the academy if we keep along this path. "

Upon the appearance of the illusions, Saito was surprised and took a step back. He then frowned trying to comprehend what was going on and the implications of this revelation. As if it weren't enough, they all vanished at which point Saito's jaw dropped and his heart started racing awaiting what was next. As soon as he heard the crackle of the electricity, Saito instinctively jumped away a few times. Once the demonstration was over, Saito relaxed and felt a bit silly for getting scared.
"Elements you say? That's interesting, a few hours ago I still thought that stuff only happened in tales told to children. I see I was wrong beyond description, and I will definitely take you up on your offer to see this headmistress you speak of"

The fox girl shrugged and returned to walking along the route to the Kaze dojo. "We shouldn't have to travel too much further." She thought about how long it had taken her to get here, and the increasing breeze. It was a relief, but she still tugged on the collar of the black padded bodysuit, knowing the moment she actually bothered to ditch it she'd find herself wishing she had kept it on.

Saito followed her. He didn't want to get too close so it wouldn't be awkward but he didn't want to be too far in case he lost sight of her somehow. After a few moments, he decided to break the silence.
"So uh, this dojo we're going to....does it have many students?"

"It has a few students at the moment" Lina said, remaining somewhat cryptic. She honestly wasn't sure quite how many came and went to Iri's dojo, but it was best not to Jinx it, or at least the fox girl's long life suggested that was the case. "The Academy's headmistress is the instructor at this dojo" Lina added, seeing no reason not to share that detail.

"Ohhh..."
A the wind started ppicking up, Saito was starting to get cold as well, so he started walking a little bit faster trying to keep himself warm.
"Is it always this windy around here?"

Lina blinked a few times at the question. "Yeah, though given it's the dojo that's focus is wind are you really that surprised?" Lina blinked a few times as she noticed a very familiar energy signature nearby, but decided it was best to get Saito to Iri first then enjoy herself later.
((I suppose we'll be at the dojo in a post or two))

Tier's mask opened up at the mouth as a necklace fell out of it into his open palm. He held the necklace up to his mouth and spoke into it in a hushed voice, "Status report."
