It's just that it has this look in its eyes that suggests, "Come closer little girl, closer now -- I want to suck your eyeballs out! A little closer..." I personally think that Ian is innocent of the charges, but only because that will add to the psychological torment he gets prison - thus driving him even more insane.
By the time he gets out, he will be quite crazy. You see, Gaia really didn't NEED a Hero at all, so now that we have one, what we NEED are villains. twisted

You see, Gaia really didn't NEED a Hero at all, so now that we have one, what we NEED are villains. twisted Villians are always better CHARACTERS than heros. I mean Superman is immune to becoming too three dimensional, Lex on the other hand balances his hatred, with running a company, and eventually a country, along with battling a leathal disease.
