Alex sighed as he stared out the window. He was curious as to what was going to happen next. This war was so...real it wasn't like the stories he heard. It was dark, scary, and real. There was no guarantee of a happy ending it was on going. Alex didn't know how to feel.

uilenyk Hyn and decided to stop for the night. he was checking his equipment when he noticed 2 small black orbs no bigger than a pebble from the ground. he didn't remeber taking anything like this with him before he had left. he picked one up staring at it. what was it. so you finally found them Kray's voice made him almost drop the stone. what you are holding are the 2 of 3 comunication stones forged from dark magic. i was only able to make 3 so far because of how much energy it costs just to make one and then use them. this is how you will give me information and give on to Arashi. i'm going to cut the connection for now. for now. voice suddenly disappeared. the moved his hands over the 2 dark stones. "hey, Kray made you a communication stone thing." Hyn called to Arashi as he tossed one to her.

((*comes in slowly, hiding.* Sorry! I had to have my computer fixed, the soder for the wireless uplink in my laptop overheated and melted. JUST got it back. It's all good!!!))
Mathias looked at his wife then pulled her close, kissing her more passionately than ever before. During this time in torture, while his blood was in control, Mathias had truely understood what it meant to be a monster. And that this woman, this beautiful, strong and caring soul could truely love him as she did, he was more grateful than ever. Pulling away slowly, he looked at her and gave her the smile he reserved for only her. "So..my love, what have I missed while I was 'out-of-step' with the real world?"
Artemis walked with the others out of the hallway. As they rounded the corner, he rose his staff to shed some more light on the area. "This is a creepy, god-forsaken place, isn't it?"
Having been left at the house, since a spirit can't do a whole lot of battling, Einon floated around by his body. "God this sucks. Stupid laws of power." He attempted to get back into his body only to shimmer right through it again. "DAMNIT!"

Engela smiled eventually, slowly, and reached down to take his hand. "Well, darling, to begin with..."
She narrated briefly the events that had passed since his disappearance. After a few minutes, she concluded, "And now our son is floating around his body, very irritated with himself. I think you'll have to fix that - it was your power he was using, after all."
Aura, walking beside Artemis, shrugged. "What do you expect? It is an enemy hideout." Spying the portal opened by her mother, she gestured towards it. "C'mon. Let's go - he's right, it is creepy in here."

"You're doing this all wrong."
The head turned slowly towards her. "Excuse me?"
"I said you're doing this all wrong. Look at these people!" She swept her hand out, indicating the faraway burning ground below them. "They are not learning. They're afraid, and they beg and they plead, but they are not understanding! They simply bide their time until they're considered healed, considered well. As though it were a jail sentence. They never truly learn the error of their ways!" She turned brilliant eyes on the figure. "They don't know, they don't comprehend why they are here - and they must. They must."
Throwing out her arms, she strode around the side to face the figure. "It must change."
There was a scornful laugh. "And you, young puppet, are the one to tell me how it must be?"
Her smile was slow, challenging. "Test me." She opened her arms. "I have set up a...shall we call it a testing area? Take some of the souls there. If they are not truly repenting, truly understanding their wrongs within a short span of time, you may punish as you see fit."
The figure rose and vanished. As it disappeared, she turned towards the door. Softly at first, she began to laugh.
Perfect. It was perfect. Did it not understand that if it escorted the souls to the place of damnation, it as an imperfect being would also be trapped there? And then, of course, the place of ruler would be...empty.
It was so beautiful.

Artemis nodded. "Oh I know that, but still, they don't HAVE to keep it all dark and evil...what's wrong with some windows or water or something... It's so confining in here." He walked after the last of them, waiting for Aura to step through before he did, wanting to make sure everyone else got out.
Mathias hung his head low. "The only way to reunite his spirit with his flesh is for the three of us; you, Aura and I, to force it back. It's dangerous, but it's the only way." Smirking, Mathias slowly got up, still shaking a little. "But after this.." indicating the pile of bodies "a dangerous action to help another should be a piece of cake."

Aura nodded. "You would think," she agreed. "Maybe they actually like it that way?"
She stopped, realizing his plan, just before stepping through the portal and waited impatiently. "Go on, Artemis," she said tartly. "It's my mother's portal - it won't randomly close on us. But Mom wired it to me; once I'm through, it'll close after me. I have to go last."

Engela shook her head. "Should have known he wouldn't take the easy way," she said with an almost-amused sigh. "He really is his father's son. Come on. We'll go fix it." With a faint twinkle of laughter just behind her eyes, she added, "Since that's what parents are for, after all."

"Then I insist you go through, Aura." Artemis says, stepping to the right just as an arrow is shot down the hall. With Artemis's sidestep, the arrow that would have struck Aura in the heart from behind instead struck him in the ribs. Grimmacing, Artemis seals it with ice then creates a bolt of his own, shooting it at the guards running towards the portal. "GO!" Artemis says again, gently pushing Aura through and watching as the portal seals behind her. Calling down the other hallway, he shouts: "Mathias! Engela! We have company!!" Drawing his staff and creating an ice sword, Artemis starts hacking away at the squad of guards.
Just as he was about to make a portal beside them, Mathias hears the Water Mage's shout. "Grr, after we rescue the boy." Instinctively, he reaches for his sword then stops. "Damn...oh well, never stopped me before." As he summoned the shadows around him, he walked down the hall, turned and sent two massivel bolts of shadow lightning at the guards behind Artemis.

Aura's eyes widened as she was pushed through the portal. Whipping around, she tried to keep it open long enough to drag Artemis through after her. But it was no use - as always, her mother's magic forbade interference. Aura was nowhere near strong enough to mess with her mother's spells, even to keep it open for longer than it was spelled to go.
Viciously, she kicked at the ground. When that idiotic mage got back, oh, was she ever going to have some choice words for him.

Engela frowned, lifting her head. If Artemis was still here, Aura was also still here. She had to be - Engela knew that her daughter had known exactly how the spell was built, damn it. They'd done this before. And yet she had no sense of her child being physically close by. Mentally, she was - and she was fuming. Curiously, she took a look through the connection to see what the problem was. She smiled slowly. Ah. That explained a good deal.
Alongside Mathias as usual, she shook her head. "I don't know if it's worth it to rescue him," she said, perfectly straight-faced except for her amused eyes as they moved towards the guards. "Aura will just kill him when we get back anyway." Nonetheless, she lifted a hand and separated chosen threads from her currents, watching them drift and twine.

"What do you mean...forget it. Later." Running down the hall, Mathias turned the corner and spun, kicking one of the guards in the back. Grabbing his shoulders and spinning around, throwing him into others. He then grabbed another two, snapping their necks.
Artemis stabs a couple more of the guards, shooting a few icicles at some others.

Engela stood back slightly - she had to, at the moment. With the currents drifting freely, and both Mathias and Artemis too close to the main body of the soldiers for comfort, the slightest accidental misstep could cause some unintended consequences. Her entire focus had to be on the currents, which meant physical warfare was out of the question.
To compensate, she allowed more power to flow through, and felt the buildup grow. What had before been merely fatal would now be explosive when it came into contact with a human body. So she kept a damn close eye on Mathias and Artemis - especially the boy. Mathias knew the shape and flow of her power. Artemis did not.

As Mathias killed a couple more soldiers, he felt it. Glancing at his wife, he nodded then turned around, grabbed Artemis's collar and yanked him away. "NOW!!"
