Gwen, who had abruptly lost her handle on the serene calm at the suggestion of flanking enemy units, just stared for several long moments, and then slowly, shakily nodded. She didn't trust her voice just then.

Cindy saw the shock in Gwen's eyes and took a moment from firing to place a hand on her shoulder.
She smiled behind her gas mask. "It'll be okay." she assured Gwen, "We've got your back, we won't let anything happen to you."
She gestured towards Gwen's gun before continuing, "Just remember, aim and squeeze the trigger. They're not humans, they're monsters. Just remember that."

Gwen drew in a deep breath, set her jaw, and nodded again, more firmly this time. "Okay." Staying as low as she could in an attempt to stay behind cover, she started moving toward the position Cindy had indicated.
