As Kilik walked down the road back to his (or rather, M.A.'s hotel room), he continued to ponder over the three mysterious Pokemon that were on that poster. The one that intrigued him the most was that monkey. Sure, it looked like a typical Fire-type but something about it piked his interest. Elekid yawned and bopped Kilik on the head to get his trainer out of the daze he was in. He wanted to go to sleep now and by gosh, this boy better hurry up and get to that bed. The baby closed his eyes, though he wasn't much of a baby now, and nudged against his trainer's face.
Kilik smiled then paused in the road, looking up at the stars. He always loved this Elekid, ever since it hatched, but he really wanted to know when he was going to evolve. He remembered Rena's Electabuzz and how powerful it could be. Then he thought about Mike's Magby. What a trip that would be, he let out a low whistle as he thought and began walking again, Napalm would want to fight Elekid and then he'd suddenly be an Electabuzz! That would trip Mike up that's for sure! he snickered.
~*-*-*-*~
He stepped inside the hotel room and snuggled back onto the couch after taking note of the clock (3:34 AM) and closed his eyes. Elekid had made himself comfortable on the chair that Flareon was still curled up on and snuggled into the Fire-type's fur. He yawned and fell asleep almost instantly.
"Alright, Elekid! Brick Break!" he called out, swinging his arm. He noticed that he was completely shadowed out like he were a silhouette. In fact, the rest of the world was in black and white. The now larger Elekid ran forward with his fist pulled back. "You too, Napalm! Show him real power!" Mike's voice called. Though, the other trainer as also completely blacked out. Napalm waddled forward and had his fist connect on target with Elekid's knuckles. Suddenly there was an explosion of light. Both Kilik and Mike flinched as the initial reaction, but then cheered when they realized what was happening. As the light began to fade around them, the world exploded into color as an intimidating Electabuzz and a feisty Magmar stood in the middle of a green field with their fists still connected. The two Pokemon smirked.
Kilik smiled in his sleep.

Kurine made her way back to the Pokemon Center, as the the sun was almost completely gone, and she was beginning to feel quite tired. She walked up to the counter and handed Nurse Joy her Poke Balls, then walked over to one of the chairs and sat down as she waited. It had only been a short time when Nurse Joy appeared again, and gave Kurine her Poke Balls back.
"Thank you!" Kurine said, smiling. She tried to hold back a yawn, but it was pretty obvious, so Nurse Joy said, "We have rooms that you can use in the back." and smiled.
"Oh! Can I use one, please?" Kurine asked, and smiled when Nurse Joy said, "Of course!" and handed her a key to one of the rooms. Kurine thanked Nurse Joy and headed through the doors to the back, finding the room pretty easily and setted into the bed after getting into her PJs. She fell asleep quickly enough, Cyndaquil curled up on the other pillow, Sentret still in his Poke Ball. Kurine didn't trust him to simply fall asleep in the same room as her without trying to escape.

Train jumped, and quickly backed up from the entrance to the hidden cave. She turned to see an angry-looking Officer Jenny talking through a megaphone, the headlights of her motorcycle the source of the blinding light. The officer hopped of her bike and walked over to Train. "Answer my question! What are you doing here? This is where I've heard reports lately of bandits mugging passerby!"
"W-wait! It's not what you think!" Train pleaded. "I'm only here because some guy stole my Pikachu, and I chased him here!" Train watched Officer Jenny's face, afraid that she wasn't going to believe her. When Officer Jenny's expression softened and she said, "Oh. Alright, then." Train though she would nearly burst with relief.

The bug catcher had been kind enough to escort Riza and her injured Sneasel back to town so that nothing else happened along the way. Riza still didn’t know what to say as she carried the Pokemon inside the pokecenter and up to the front desk where she quietly got the nurse’s attention. She opened her mouth to speak but no words would come. The nurse just gave her a knowing look before snapping her fingers, and two Chansey came into the room, wheeling a stretcher between them. One of the chansey pointed at Sneasel and then to the bed. Riza understood at once and gently lied Sneasel down. “We’ll take good care of your Sneasel. Just try to relax,” she told Riza as she and the chansey wheeled Sneasel into the ICU.
For a long time Riza just stared at the red light above the door. She didn’t know what else to do other than just stand there. It wasn’t until another chansey came by and gently took her by the hand and led her to the waiting room. Riza got herself a drink of hot cocoa and a sandwich from a vending machine before sitting back down, staring blankly at the TV in the far corner. The volume was turned way down so the only sound in the room was the humming of the static on the screen and the hushed chatter between the other trainers in the pokecenter. Riza sighed and sipped her cocoa. No one had ever told her about this part of being a trainer before. She didn’t like it.

Keegan was nearly through his second cup of coffee by the time Sheena entered the cafeteria. Kasiya's necklace was coiled around his fingers and he found himself inadvertently staring at the lightning bolt pendant from time to time. Keegan looked up over the rim of his coffee cup as Sheena gathered breakfast for her and presumably her Pokemon. He waved at her to get her attention and with a bright smile she waved back and eagerly made her way over to the table.
"Good morning!" she said brightly, sitting down and spreading out the food. "It's time to eat, my lovelies!" she said in a high-pitched singsong voice, and her five Pokemon appeared around her. Keegan's Pokemon each looked up as they were joined by Sheena's party. Her Delcatty's eyes brightened when she saw that the redheaded boy from a while ago and she looked around curiously for the adorable Electrike she'd battled before. It took a few moments for her to realize that Themis had evolved and as soon as she recognized him she scooted over next to him, tail swishing back and forth happily. "Oh look, Fluffy really seems to like Themis," Sheena said observantly.
"Eh?" Keegan glanced over at the two Pokemon curiously, smirking a bit when he saw Themis trying to edge away from the Prim Pokemon's affections. "Maybe so, but he doesn't seem to like her very much," he mumbled, finishing the rest of his coffee in a single gulp.
Sheena just smiled. "Yeah, that seems to be a lot of that going around," she murmured to herself before having a sip of her orange juice. "I don't know how you can drink that stuff," she said quickly, nodding at the empty coffee mug but quickly changed the subject again. "So what's on the docket for today?"
Keegan raised an eyebrow and pointed at the bright poster plastered to the wall nearby. "What, you forgot already?" he asked. "I'm heading for Slateport once I'm done here. The Beach Party is today and my... friends will be there." It felt a little odd to utter that phrase but it wasn't exactly untrue. He knew that Mike would probably be there, as he was sure his old friend couldn't resist a golden opportunity like this to show off his battling skills, and he was absolutely positive that Kasiya would be there. He toyed with the silver chain a bit more and watched Sheena somewhat impatiently. "What about you?" =====
Another wide bolt of electricity arched off of the Jolteon's body and headed straight for Lily, who braced herself for impact. Miharu smiled a bit at this, having formed an idea from the last Thunderbolt the Jolteon had used. "Lily, extend a vine and touch the ground!" Miharu shouted. The Bulbasaur didn't know exactly why Miharu would say such an outrageous thing but she did as told. Her right-side green vine snaked out and dug into the soft ground around her, just as the electricity hit its mark. The Bulbasaur let out a surprised gasp as a good portion of the electricity traveled down her extended vine and was grounded out in the earth below her feet. Grinning broadly the grass type then lifted up her 'ground' and swung it hard and fast at the Jolteon. Already suffering from a mixture of the Leech Seed and the poison, it was unable to avoid the Vine Whip and was struck solidly in the side.
Satsuki sighed and closed her eyes. She knew it was over. With a forced smile she recalled her Jolteon and brushed the dust from her kimono. "Well, congratulations Miharu. You've defeated all five of us."
"And I think you've more than earned that prize we promised you," added Semomo, stepping towards Miharu. In her hands she held a thin, square box, and she bowed politely as she held it out for Miharu to take.
"Thank you," Miharu said quietly, trying her best to bow politely in return as she accepted the gift. "What is it?" Lily had trotted over to her trainer's side and was sitting proudly by her feet, grinning up at each of the kimono sisters as though she were the greatest Pokemon on four legs.
"If you have any water type Pokemon, they will find this most useful," Komay said. "It is the Hidden Machine used to teach Pokemon the move Surf. Semomo used that very same disc to teach her Vaporeon to use Surf."
Miharu felt quite speechless as she stared down at the cerulean blue casing. "That's very generous of you," she said, knowing exactly who she'd be using it on. The ability to give Starrie such a powerful technique to use made her feel a lot less guilty about the fact that the Staryu hadn't seen much battle lately.

Kurine awoke from an undisturbed sleep a little bit after the sun had begun to shine through the blinds that covered the window in her room at the PokeCenter. She felt quite refreshed, through she yawned as she sat up. Kurine returned Cyndaquil to his Poke Ball, grabbed her clothes--which she had hung over the end of the bedframe, and headed into the bathroom for a quick shower before leaving. She made sure her two Poke Balls were secure on her belt as she locked the door to the room, then headed down the hall and to the front desk of the PokeCenter, where she gave Nurse Joy back the key. Both wished each other a nice day, and then Kurine was off, thinking that she'd get some more training in, and hopefully challenge Falkner later that day.

Shocker grinned up at the clear blue sky, quite enjoying the feeling of the sunshine on her tawny fur. It made her feel warm all over and for now she was content to just enjoy the early morning. She didn't really notice the little Mudkip running around after her, as she hadn't really known who he was or who he may have belonged to, but when she did see the little speck of blue in the sand below she decided to get down from her perch in the palm tree to see what was up. That, and see if she could wake up Kasiya. She was practically starving!
When she reached the Mudkip she grinned broadly and waved, looking around curiously as though the Water-type's trainer would miraculously appear before them. It wasn't until she heard Kasiya yawn from not far away that she realized another human had camped out beside them. Shocker raised a paw as if to say 'excuse me' and she dashed off towards Kasiya, jumping up and flipping in the air flawlessly before coming to land flat on the girl's abdomen. Kasiya let out a muffled groan and bumped the Raichu off of her and she sighed. "I didn't ask for a wake-up call," she grumbled, closing her eyes. It was then that Kasiya remembered why she'd let Shocker out of her Pokeball the night before, and the terrible realization of having lost her necklace came thundering back in a heartbeat. While she knew she shouldn't be so upset about a material thing she just couldn't help it.
Shocker picked herself up out of the sand and faced her trainer, ready to retaliate for being pushed over. However, her ears drooped a little when she saw the devastated look on Kasiya's face, and instead she climbed into her trainer's lap and gave her a hug. "I lost my pendant, Shocker," Kasiya said softly, squeezing the Raichu in her arms. "I don't think it'll be easy to find, either." The mouse sighed, remembering the history that had been attached to that pendant. Apparently it had once belonged to Lt Surge and he'd given it to Kasiya some time ago. Shocker wasn't quite sure of what happened next, but she thought that Kasiya had given it to her evil half-sister as a peace offering, but it hadn't worked out so well. The mouse shook her head. Humans always had to make things so complicated.
=-=-=-=-= When the sunlight began to pour through the window of his room, Jaeshan opened his eyes, unable to believe that it was morning already. As excited as he was that today was the day of the long-awaited beach party, he couldn't help but have a bad feeling about it. He couldn't explain it, and the feeling continued to hang over his head even as he showered and got dressed. He still felt quite tired and he kind of regretted going out so late last night, except that he soon remembered meeting up with M.A. and Robin and he smiled a bit. It had been worth it.
He made sure he had his wallet and Pokemon before leaving his room and going on a search for the hotel's restaurant, if they had one. Gallivanting around at night had a way of catching up with you when the morning finally came. He found it with relative ease, and was happy to see that it was indeed Pokemon-friendly. He went outside to the deck and found a nice, large table and sat down, releasing each Pokemon so they could get ready for their meals too. "Today's gonna be busy so eat up, alright?" He ordered a ton of food, and the seven of them waited patiently for it to arrive.

It was pretty early in the morning when a tall figure strode through Pokemon Center. He was wearing a pair of dark jeans and a kinda tight black shirt, covering his shortish dark hair was a leather slouch hat that he tugged down slightly. Glancing around the room ignoring some of the appreciative looks he was getting he finally spotted what he was looking for. Taking a few long strides to a couch on the side of the room he grinned as he stood over it. "Hey sleepy head aren't you going to welcome me back?" He teased as he nudged the couch with a booted foot.
On said couch laid one Robin Knight, upon hearing Ampersands soothing deep voice Robin groaned and pulled the blanket over her head some more. She really shouldn't have gone out late last night, not that she had much of a choice with Luffy.
Speaking of the Aipom Luffy woke up when he heard the others voice. Perking up he opened wide black eyes and stared up at the other before grinning widely. Letting out a happy cry he grabbed Hat with his tail and stuck it onto his head before jumping up onto his shoulder and curled around it. He was glad that his hat buddy was back, he had missed the strange but strong man.
Ampersand was still not used to the fact that there was a pokemon that could stay awake near him. Shaking it off Ampersand reached up and scratched Luffy under the chin. "How about we get something to eat for breakfast while little miss sleepy head gets some more sleep?" He grinned at Luffy as the Pokemon's eyes widened and nodded enthusiastically. That settled they both headed over to the cafeteria, the pokemon that were awake that Ampersand passed by fell asleep and woke up right afterwords very confused.

Kilik woke up slowly, arching his back. He heard it pop in four different places very loudly. He groaned and threw his feet over the side of the mattress and was careful to be quiet as he packed it back into the couch. It was as if it was never there, minus the light scratch marks it left on the floor. He scratched the back of his head and looked over at his two still sleeping Pokemon. Quiet as a Rattata, he recalled his Flareon and Elekid, strapping their Pokeballs to his belt. He grabbed up his side bag and clipped that on as well. He stretched then walked into the bathroom to look at his face in the mirror. "Lookin' clear, Kilik." He laughed, running a hand through his hair.
With that, he took the pen and paper provided by the hotel and wrote a small thank-you note to the Rustings and left it on the coffee table.
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Rustings, as well as M.A.: Thank you so much for letting me stay in your room. I appreciate it more than you know. Also, as for that explosion...that wasn't my fault, if you heard it. Tell M.A. to call me when she wakes up, if she needs someone to hang out with! -Kilik R.
He yawned and walked out of the hotel room into the sunlight. Man, did it feel good! Normally, July was blistering hot but something about today...it was nice! He searched around. All the stores were bustling, kids were running around in their bathing suits and trainers were already having battles in the water and on the sand. This is what great days like this were made for. He took a deep breath.
...Now what would he do?

The sad story was that M.A. couldn't exactly even remember getting back to her room; thank goodness Daemyn was there to make sure she didn't wander off obliviously into some dark alleyway and sleep in a trashcan.
She woke up around nine, luxuriously lulling around on her bed for a time before flopping out and brushing her teeth. Daemyn was up by now as well, and with his muzzle released Ulani and Tora, knowing that they'd want to be up and about as well. The Swablu in particular loved to wash herself to top-notch cleanness to start off her days, and Tora... well, she kept sleeping, but ah well.

Kilik walked along the rows of concessions, letting out a low whistle. It was impressive that they managed to change Slateport from what was such a low profile boring town (they had a museum. Big deal.) to the one place to be in all the world. He paused in front of a fried food stand, and blinked. It smelled terrible, but there was a very long line of people waiting to try it out. "What exactly is this a line for?" Kilik asked the man in front of him. He was ignored. He blinked and tapped his foot. "Excuse me, sir, but--" he felt his backside hit the concrete and the wind was knocked out of him. The guy had pushed him away! For nothing! "Hey!" he barked, standing back up.
"What's your deal!?" he snapped, "I just asked a simple question!"
"Shut up, punk!" the man bellowed. Kilik was instantly reminded of his father in terms of appearance, only this man was a bit pudgier and sported hair that was a lot longer. "I'm reading the prices for this place!" Kilik looked up at the sign:
KFC: Kanto Fried Chicken
He was willing to bet that it wasn't chicken. He growled at the man. "Is that an excuse to push me over?" "Look, if you want some trouble, you're really asking for it!" the man snarled, "I'm hungry and trust me - you won't like me when I'm hungry!" Kilik smirked.
"Fine then..." he turned his back and started to walk away. He hid behind the corner. No way was this pudgy man going to get away with shoving him on the floor. He waited and waited for him to finally get up to the front. A smirk appeared on Kilik's lips as the food was passed from over the counter to the man's hands. "Kamiiii...kaze!" Kilik shouted, running out from behind the stand and jumping high into the air. He slapped the man's food out of his hands and watched it crash against the concrete with a splatter! Though this moment of victory was short lived. As he was still in the air (after jumping off the counter), he felt a tug on his foot and he was suddenly slammed against the ground. The fact he didn't break a rib was astounding.
"That's it, kid! You're dead!" he roared, "Absolutely dead!" He dragged the boy across the smooth stone and grabbed him by the shirt collar. Kilik placed his hands on the large man's wrists and clenched tightly. "Look, a battle will settle this!" he managed to spit out. He fell to his knees as the man was walking away, getting out a Pokeball. The trainer stood up slowly and brushed off his clothes. He had already caused some mischief and it wasn't even noon. Seems a little bit of Mazarin rubbed off on him in that handshake last night.

The two of them ate breakfast, or rather Luffy raided the whole place and Ampersand munched on an apple. It didn't take very long, just like how anything involving food and Luffy didn't take long. When all that was done Ampersand headed back to where Robin was Luffy on his shoulder again, and frowned when he saw she was still asleep. Rubbing his stubbled chin Ampersand stared at her for a moment before shrugging. Reaching into his pocket and then riffling through Robin's bag for a pen he scrawled a quick note to her before walking out the door with Luffy on his shoulder.
Upon stepping into the bright sunlight Ampersand winced slightly before going through his pockets and pulling a pair of sunglasses out. The streets were busy and there was a lot of preparations going on for the party. There also seemed to be a commotion going on down the street. Not wanting to get involved with a fight Ampersand decided to head the other way. Despite the fact that he could hold his own fairly well if he did say so himself, did not mean he liked violence. In fact he really did not like it all, if he had his way there wouldn't be pokemon trainers who were fighting. Though ever since he had met the energy factory that was Luffy he figured that maybe if it got rid of some of that energy he would be fine with it. As they walked through the town Ampersand ignored all the looks he was getting, mostly from the ladies but a few from some of the guys, he learned long ago to ignore them for the most part.
After a while they ended up at the edge of the beach where some people were all ready setting up. Deciding that it might be a good idea to nab a space now Ampersand walked through the sand until he found the last empty spot with an umbrella. Grinning to himself he sat himself down in the beach chair lounging back and stretching slightly. Luffy on the sand now let out a happy chirping sound before he set to digging a hole in it. At first the sand started getting on Ampersand and he frowned slightly before using a large hand to pick him up and turn him the other way, Luffy didn't seem to notice or care.
Suddenly Ampersand heard a giggle coming to the side of him. Opening one clear blue eye he glanced over at two girls who were standing to the other side of him and watching him. "Can I help you missies?" He asked his voice having some of its drawl which caused the girls to giggle some more.

"Okay, kiddo! Big Ol' Larry is going to lay the hurt down on ya!" he bellowed, slapping his stomach. He tossed an Ultra Ball and revealed a behemoth of a Pokemon. It was so large that the crowd that was forming had to make way for it. It appeared to be sleeping. "Ready to do this Snorlax?" a loud affirmative snore and scratched its stomach.
Kilik laughed. "Why, it even looks like you! How nice. Now if it had the same odor, I dunno which would be which!" The crowd whistled and laughed as well, "Though I must say, the Snorlax smells tons better than you!" He tossed the Great Ball that housed his own beast. Lairon emerged from the ball and slammed his feet against the stone, cracking it instantly. "LAAAAIRON!" he bellowed. Without a doubt, he was ready to smash. The boy ran his thumb over his nose, "I suppose we'll let ladies go first."
"Every word out of your mouth is a nail in your coffin, kid!" Larry said. "Snorlax, let's go with your Snore!" He commanded. The Snorlax did nothing but continue to scratch at his stomach. Larry blinked, "C'mon you big lummox!" The crowd began to laugh at him, wondering how he could have been so foolish. Even Kilik was almost in stitches, though this was highly exaggerated.
"Don't you get it?" Kilik crossed his arms and shook his head, "In order to use Snore, your Pokemon has to be asleep first! Snorlax may look like he's sleeping, but he's really wide awake!" He took Larry's gasp as a cue to keep going. "Which leaves you wide open for this! Lairon, use Headbutt!" The tank ran forward, lowering his head to prepare for the attack. He felt his metal skull ram into a very soft substance. It was unlike anything he had ever felt before. Lairon bounced back and stumbled a bit. What in the world? Why didn't his opponent go flying? Why didn't he break?
"It'll take more than that to get my Snorlax movin'!" he laughed, getting a few chuckles out of the bystanders, "Or if you didn't know, Snorlax is a very dex...dex...sturdy Pokemon!"
"The word you want is 'dexterous'," Kilik sighed, "And that means he's skillful with his hands, not sturdy." He laughed, "You really are as dumb as you look!"

Kasiya sighed sadly and wiped the tears from her eyes. Now was not the time to be getting upset - today was going to be a big day! The Beach Party, and the possibility that her Charmander egg would hatch! Kasiya stood up, setting Shocker on the ground. She looked around, spying the snack shack that Crenu had visited only a little while ago, and she headed towards it after telling Shocker to stay there and keep an eye on the egg, Serenity, and George. When she arrived she found a change room in the back, and cleaned up a bit and changed into her new swimsuit, studying herself in the mirror before heading back outside. "Maybe this wasn't such a good idea," she mumbled, feeling a bit embarrassed by her appearance. Shoulda went with a one piece, she thought sadly, but it was too late to do anything about it now - her other bathing suit was way back on Cinnabar Island, and it wasn't doing her any good there.
Feeling as though she'd been away long enough she began to trek back through the sand towards the makeshift campsite after storing some of her things in a locker. Her stomach grumbled a bit, but it was churning as well. As excited as she was about today she also couldn't help but carry a feeling of dread. I'm just nervous, she thought, trying to shake the feeling. I wonder who all is going to show up today?
=-=-=-=-= Jaeshan and his Pokemon helped themselves to a hearty breakfast, and when everyone had their fill he paid the bill and headed down to the beach area after recalling everyone but Combusken. His dad had paid for his and Ryka's hotel rooms for tonight as well so he didn't have to worry about lodgings for tonight. Jaeshan slipped his hands into the pockets of his khaki shorts and looked around. The beach was already getting to be quite full so he quickly claimed a good spot in the sand, keeping an eye out for a sign of anyone he knew. He glanced back towards the hotel, wondering when Ryka would make her presence known. Jaeshan studied the area he'd claimed when he noticed that nearby, a tall man with dark clothing had claimed the umbrella nearby and was lounging in a chair under it. A rather familiar-looking Aipom had begun to play in the sand next to him and he chuckled - it certainly looked a lot like the Aipom he'd met last night, straw hat and all.
At first Combusken made a move to go over and say hello to the happy little monkey Pokemon, but after a few steps she stopped, yawning loudly. It looked as though she were about to fall asleep right there. The Fighting-type shook her head and stepped back a few paces, feeling the sudden fatigue disappear as quickly as it had came. Combusken blinked curiously, repeating the process a few times to understand what was going on. Furrowing her brow she used her claws to draw a line in the sand, denoting that she would not go past that spot.
"Combusken, what are you doing?" Jaeshan asked, coming over to investigate. Combusken began to chatter excitedly, hopping up and down and pointing at the line she'd drawn in the sand. Jaeshan just blinked, not understanding in the slightest. "What I wouldn't give to be able to understand you guys when you talk," he sighed, bending down to pat her on the head. Combusken seemed to mirror these thoughts but just grinned at her trainer.

Every second that passed felt like a millennia and Riza was sure the waiting was going to drive her crazy. It wasn’t until she saw the bug catcher still standing over by one of the windows that it took her mind off of things. She stood up under the pretence of throwing away her sandwich wrapper in the trashcan nearby and stopped beside him. “Uh, I don’t really know how to say this but thanks. For getting us here safely,” she said, looking somewhat embarrassed. “Your beedrill was amazing back there,” she added before returning to her seat.
The older boy just smiled and removed his straw hat. “Thanks,” he said. “We didn’t get strong easily,” he told Riza, his voice becoming quite stern. “You and your Sneasel will get stronger. It’ll take a lot of time and effort but you will,” he told her. He patted her on the shoulder and left the pokecenter.
Riza watched him leave and she went to sit back down. Everything the bug catcher had said was true. She wouldn’t be able to just jump into being a coordinator, first she’d need to learn the basics about Pokemon training. And there was really only one person she could call upon at a time like this.
Her thoughts were cut short as the red light above the ICU finally went out, and a moment or so later the doors opened up and nurse Joy and one of the chanseys was coming towards her. “How is my Sneasel?” Riza asked, practically jumping up out of her seat.
“She is doing fine,” Joy said. “A little bit of rest and I think she’ll be good as new.”
“Chan-seee,” added the chansey, grinning at Riza happily.
