"Why am I an outlaw?" Calesat himself down on the ground and sighed. "Life has never been kind to me. Jedi killed my parents, my sister was separated from me when we were little, never grew up as big or strong as anyone else; the only way to for me to survive was to fight back against the society that kept me down. even joined the Rebellion for a while. Never worked out. In some ways, the Rebellion became as lousy as the Empire it replaced." he sighed again. "The one thing I wanted in the galaxy was destroyed during the Endor operation. so I got that going for me as well."

Ali'anna folded her arms around herself; this side of Coruscant was darkening, and the temperature was exhibiting appropriate change. "What was destroyed there?"

Cale watched the fading horizon. "It wasn't destroyed at Endor. I had a home of sorts back then, a place I could go where I could feel welcome and safe. In my line of work, that sort of thing is a luxury.
I left it behind to fight the last great battle of the war. Turns out the war didn't end at Endor. its still going on. And the Home I valued do much was burned down. If I had stayed, never gotten involved, I could have defended it. Hell I probably wouldn't even be an outlaw today if I still had it. And Her." he bowed his head and stared at the ground.

She patted him on the shoulder gently. "Did she...die?"

"Her family were found to be Rebel Alliance supporters. They burned the house, the property, took her father away for the standard treatment. anyone else connected to him were incarcerated or killed on the spot." he didn't look at her, just continuing to stare at the permacrete."No mercy for traitors. Even if they were children."

"So you abandoned hope that she could be alive? I imagine someone like you would only be after girls who were smart and resourceful.. couldn't she have escaped?" Ali'anna got a little louder now, though her tone was still becoming more neutral.

"In Eleven years I haven't been able to find her. The Empire was pissed after Endor. they lashed out at every rebellion garrison, cell, and supporter they could find. They were out for blood. alot of it."
He looked at the wrecked starfighter in front of her. "Space knows I tried to find her. And I'd like to belive if she was alive she would try and find me. But..." he suffered a short fit of coffing and then became silent.

Ali'anna's grip on Cale's shoulder was nearly tender. "There are people who could help you... people who deal with information. They can find anyone; I would know. They helped me find my jobs, often, and helped the Republic find me..."

"Who? The Bothans? The Infochant's guild? NRI? Imperial Intelligence?" Cale said. "Belive me, whatever sources I could find with a lead I've tried. You're trying to tap a dry well, Blue. She's dead. My home's ash, and all the bitching, moaning, and crying in the galaxy isn't going to bring either back. Only thing to do is just to keep surviving."

"I suppose," she conceded. "But it's an empty life, simply struggling to survive..." She lowered her face to hang next to his own. "That's something I'm sure we both have come to understand..."

((Right, Cajin's being retired as a PC. I don't know if he's off fishing, or if he's back to the mercenary life, but...bye! *waves*
And here's the new guy...))

Chancellor Heprek, The Supreme Executive of the NHI (Nemodia Heavy Industrial) Conglomerate sat back at his desk and looked out the large window of his office in the Coruscanti tower of his company, briefly considering the battle raging outside.
Well, as they say, war is good for business, though still not good enough, it seems. he thought, secure in the knowlege of the very nasty security droids stationed around the building.
But I've been at the head of this company for almost a decade, and now...now is the time to make my move.
His musing was interrupted by a discreet tone from his desk.
"Yes? What is it?"
"Sir, Republican officials to see you." answered a droid receptionist.
"Send them in." he commanded.

Four individuals entered, two, carrying datapads, wearing the robes of Republican officials, and two wearing the uniforms of Coruscanti police.
Proof that it will take more than an all-out war to dislodge the Coruscanti bureacracy. They'll probably still be here after the government changes hands.
"Can I, help you, gentlemen?" he asked them.
"Chancellor, we're placing you under audit."
Well...not these ones...
With a sigh, he stood up, stepped onto his desk, and leapt at the group. His lightsaber burned a bright red as he cut down the two officers and landed in a crouch. Rising to his feet, he reversed his lightsaber and plunged it into the back of a fleeing official, and twisted, slashing at the other, who screamed as he stumbled and fell through the window.
He sighed as he deactivated his lightsaber and walked to his desk.
Damn auditors. I just got that window cleaned.
He pressed a button on his desk.
"Sir?"
"Send in the maintinence droids; Replace the window and dispose of the mess."
"Yes sir."
"And prepare my shuttle for launch."
"Yes sir."

He leaned back against his desk, drumming his fingers on the edge.
It is time to bring this company to the fore of the Galaxy.

"Empty? no. Life is what you make of it." He said. "You can't live life dwelling on past failures. You do that, you don't go nowhere. Sad as I am about what happened, I managed to keep going forward. Sure it hasn't been a great life, Space knows Ive done alot of things I'd wish I'd never tried, But There are those experiences that I wouldn't trade for all the Glit in Kessel. You knever know whats going to happen tomorrow until it rolls around."

((Cajin, may I refer you to rule #4, about using light-colored fonts. Orange might work for you though. That's just too small and too light. Oh, and change of planets in effect by monday))

Neb drifted through space, as he continued his path. He wasn't in a hurry, though. The Federation would require some time before launching another attack to grip their claws into Coruscant. That was one planet that one could simply not just attack and hop from. It required some time to make a foothold worthy of its capture.

And Neb knew that not even Palpetine himself could capture the planet militarily and establish himself as a ruler in one single night.

So, Neb was preparing for the final part of his quest. The shards, which for so long had been untouched in the Kapella, he now took a hold of, in hopes of speeding up the quest. Of course, when he took grasp of them, he quickly realized he shouldn't have.

The shards which he grasped let out a shockwave of an aura, one which even he was scared due to the blast.

"Imperius and Drako alike will have felt that, even after being halfway across the galaxy."

But the glimpse was all he needed. Two shards were on Coruscant. Well, those would be irretrievable for a while, if at all.

"Damnit Cale. Why didn't you just simply shoot them into a black hole? Now, I have no chance to go back to Coruscant and remain undected that damn long to search the underbelly of the city..."

But the last shard, the seventh, he also felt regrettable for. It was a shard, found on the Wookiee colony, Alaris Prime. He had been greatly annoyed at this fact, mostly because that he could have done some research and found that out. Qui-gon helped the wookiees drive back the Trade Federation before the Battle of Naboo decades earlier. With a little research, he probably could have found some notes or hints... perhaps not.. but either way, the deed was finished.

Alaris Prime would be his next destination, and hopefully the Federation wouldn't be on his tail that fast.

"Ah, it seems you had more freedom than me, then. All of my life has been a struggle... when you're struggling simply to keep existing, and keep marginally sane, there's little time for much else." She looked up. "I assume that is the retrieval craft?"

"I never said I was sane, Blue. Here I am, suffering from a severe blow to the head and chest, with a hijacked droid and a ruthless assasin on a hostile world deliberately trying to draw attention to my battered fighter. nothing seems to sane about that."
Cal slowly pushed himself up to a standing position and scanned the sky. "If it is, its hours ahead of scedule. Does it look like a Lambda shuttle with a boxy mid section?"
