Jans Viper =/ I kinda want to fight Ertai now, some how I think it would be more interesting than I had thought previously. Personality flaws aside he can spin a good character. That and the fact that getting his a** whupped would do im some good. Many men have gone'a seeking, all have been brought to their knees begging.
So the story goes at least. wink

[ Smiling - Jak ] No worries Jan, there are more then a few people out to gun his character down. *coughalmosteveryonecough* The problem is, none of us can. And i don't mean in the sense that nobody is "skilled" enough or anything. The problem lies in that he will never admit defeat, and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

Well he doesn't have to, someone else like Clash can do it for him.

And i don't mean in the sense that nobody is "skilled" enough or anything. The problem lies in that he will never admit defeat, and there's nothing anyone can do about it. He doesn't have to admit defeat, he just has to get shown up in front of everyone. People who brag about how they never lose and are therefore better than everyone else and use this reasoning to support large amounts of arrogance lose all credibility in pitiful whiny defeat. It's why I'm going so hard on Arch - he keeps count of his wins and losses in his signature and when I break his zero-loss streak it will have a profound effect. Speaking of which, Clash, did he get back to you about that yet?

Yeah, we've been going back and forth a bit. It might be a bad idea, but instead of just laying the law down, I like to talk to people and try to get them to see why I'm making the decision I am instead of just being like, "THIS IS IT, DAMMIT." And I don't want anyone stampeding off and giving the tourny a bad rep because of one of my decisions, although that just can't be helped sometimes. That's kinda what it's coming down to, though, or it seems it. And for your other match, the one against Seshmi, I need to check my outbox and see if my last PM got to him or if he disappeared or what. If he's just not replying, I'm just gonna DQ him.
Ertai could be so much more badass if he'd just stick to cool mage-like stuff and not try to get all complex and make long posts. Even the Ertai from MTG sounds cool. His attitude would be awesome. I think he just tries too hard nowadays. I could dig up old fights of his from a couple years ago, or sweet stuff from non-psionics side characters about a year before he hit it 'big' on Gaia, and it's pretty cool.
As a matter of fact, he actually used to try to be fair, while still being cocky as hell and constantly insulting his opponent. He had this Switch-Meridius account that he still brings out once in a while, only not that coolly, and he used to say himself that he refused to use his psionics stuff or the cyo stuff in a bad way. He'd just fight people melee-style or try to blow 'em up with a bunch of orbs, and I used to have a lot of fun reading his posts before anyone even knew who he was.
Hey, maybe Ertai will happen upon this post.

And perhaps this will teach him that power does not come from Speedhacking, but IG time.

That's what I'm saying Clash, without the arrogance the fight would be entertaining. And I'm not gunning for him. I'm gunning for Tacitus and Gelmax.
Ertai would be a fun fight, with the added bonus of beating him. Of course, only half of my characters are likely to beat him from a conceptual point, and only two are a definite win. Hell, if he does against Ikibe its a definite loss for me. xD

If IG time = character power, then I'd have an extreemly powerful character.

He can be dramatic, too. If he'd just bodyslam with people and grunt, take a punch and have some blood fly (and actually take the punch without making people wade through three textbook posts to get there; just have someone throw a punch at him and let it hit for style), then wipe it off with the back of his sleeve and say how he's gonna "********' murder" them, then sling some Orbs of Destruction at them as exploding debris rips at his clothes during an extravagant light-show of fire and brimstone, he'd be cool.
Anyway, I'm gonna go judge some stuff.

Trei: You did? Well that was stupid, see Ertai has this tendency to believe that Real-World OOC time effects the time inside of the battle.
Nightz: Ah, well that is how I always play my characters that have to "power up" to use higher tier or stronger attacks.
