it is easiest i think. unless you made the wall vanish part way through its movement, everyone in front of the stage would end up against the far wall immobilized.

Yeah. Though this effect is only a temporary blast to throw everyone off their game. You wouldn't be held up against the wall for more than 3 seconds. If that. This means all the rubble, friends, foes, and bodies would be pushed back and stopped against the far wall for anywhere between 1 to 3 seconds and then fall back to the ground.

i see. i was imagining something cool like: he walks in, holds everyone immobile. casually picks his target, takes them. and then leaves while everyone is pinned to the wall. and the n everyone gets free. and then the battle resumes as if nothing happened.

Yes. It would effectively hit everyone on the stage and anyone more than 3 feet away from the front end of the stage.
I actually planned on him holding up everyone/thing other than his targets. He holds up his targets and his risks crushing them if he accidentally applies too much force. The gravitational energies in the Earth and difficult to control.

Due to the book he activated earlier, he now has access to the gravitational forces caused by the Earth. The only problem is, it is very difficult for him to control the amount of force he uses and that is why he just did a quick burst. But now that he can easily see everyone, he is planning on holding up everyone that is not a target and take his victims. That way, he does not risk accidentally crushing his targets with the force.

i see. well, continue, but haki and lukas will stand there. I cannot defy you completely without haki online...so feel free to continue. you may have to dodge a few portals if you take someone lukas likes...but you control force, so that should be easy.
