Linda snapped her fingers and moved her hips. She didn't mean to insult Clark but Lois brought out the city girl in her.
" You make fun of Kid Flash cause he's so fast. You're just jealous cause Superboy's SO SLOW. Look at me I'm Superboy. I can fly, I have heat vision, but in race with Kid Flash...I'LL ALWAYS COME SECOND PLACE!!"
Linda had a cocky smile on her face as she did a hair flip and looked at Lois up and down.
" On top of which Kid Flash has something that Superboy can never get with all his powers combined... STYLE! Something you could certainly use a lesson in"

"he's a one trick pony at BEST and he doesn't even do that trick really well. Superboy does lots of things.. and he does them WELL and he has a DOG and we all know that the best superheroes have dogs!

" Race? Hello FASTEST kid alive. As in FASTER THEN SUPERBOY. As far as doing things well, if he did so well he wouldn't have let those guys get away. He would've been better off on the sidelines and letting a professional handle the job. Oh, and he has a dog so does that ten year old kid over there but that doesn't make him a hero. Look Superboy's a complete boyscout... kinda cute but totally not hot. Where as Kid Flash... let's face it he's bringing SEXY back! And everyone knows the BEST heroes aren't cute...their DROP DEAD SEXY!"
Did Linda just admit out loud that she thought Kid Flash was sexy... yeah... yeah she did. But couldn't let Lois get away with talking her man like that.

Mercy. Bring those two young ladies that everyone is listening to onstage. I have an idea.
::An idea to embarrass, humiliate, and possibly disable two of Hero High's students before graduation. It would be especially good if he could take down the alien.
Lex's bodyguard escorted Linda and Lois to center stage as Superboy and Kid Flash stumbled to their feet. Heroes. Bah! Lex thought. He raised his voice so the crowd(and the media) could hear him.::
We don't have to let today end in tragedy, good people of Midvale. These two young ladies have given me a wonderful idea to make up for the misfortune that has befallen the ice festival. LexCorp will sponsor a race. A charity race around the world between Superboy and Kid Flash to see who is the fastest boy alive! LexCorp will donate one thousand dollars for every mile run! That's if our heroes are up to the task...

Jen kept munching on her popcorn watching this all, she was not impressed. 'Time for some heckling...'
"Yeah, great idea! How about a race to catch the guys that got away... you know the villains..."
She turned to Karen and spoke in a quieter voice. "I swear, this place is filled with idiots who cares who's fastest." She said. "At least Superboy looks like he's more concerned with catching the thieves."

Meanwhile....in the Midvale Woods...
*Chris was getting frustrated, It had seemed so easy hours ago....look for the cabin by the lake, find the cabin by the lake. But there were so many lakes and no cabins! GAH!
The latest lake was less than a mile from Hero High's utility building. All power, water, and sewer ran through that building. He didn't know why he bothered looking there, the cabin would never be that close to campus. Growling in frustration, he threw his cell phone into the snow. Chris sighed and went to the cell phone. The next thing he knew, he was sprawled in the snow.*
What the what?
*Chris snagged his phone and stood up. Scanning the ground, he found what he tripped over. A rope. It was staked to the ground. He followed the rope and discovered a giant camouflaged tarp. It was buried under a ton of snow. Chris crawled under the snow and tarp...*
HOLY CRAP! I found it!

"Looks can be deceiving, Jen." Karen replied back with a smirk, nodding to the people on stage. "Something tells me these two would like to show off more for their lady friends." She shrugged not understanding men at all.
Cupping her hand over her mouth she followed in suit for the Heckling, anything to get Lex's bold read as red as a beat!
"Quit showing off and tell us who the winner is! Better get a good prize since their money took off!! C'mon! Give 'em a jet! You can afford it!"
Fist pumping in the air she tied to start a chant.
"Jet!"

*Chris went around the cabin, looking at it from every angle. There was a back porch with a large supply of firewood but nothing else of interest. He backtracked to the front door and was surprised to find it unlocked. He twisted the handle and pushed the door open.*
Crazy. But it's my cab-
*BOOM! Chris's armor erected a shield over his chest instinctively and it absorbed two blasts from a double-barreled shotgun. It was a booby trap! Whoever opened the door would get shot in the chest!*
He really didn't want visitors.
*Chris shoved the shotgun trap aside and stepped into the cabin. There were no lights but his armor let him see everything easily. A large furnished living room, fireplace, a dining area with a small table, a full kitchen, and several doors to other rooms.*
A fridge? A TV? How does this place have power?
*Chris began to poke around and explore.*

Aspen looked at the stage... first Wally assigned her the most boring part of superheroing... crowd control and now he was showing off for some other girl. He must've completely forgot about her... Aspen grumbled and walked back to campus. Once there she saw Kori..
" So how did it go?"
" How do think?! UGH! I thought he really liked me too...it was totally embarassing.."
" So, ready for revenge.."
Aspen smiled as the two cheerleaders walked into Kori's dorm room.

A race? Was this a good idea? Wally was nursing a bruised ego after trying to look cool in front of Linda. Bad idea...Wally made a mental note to keep Wally's showboating separate from Kid Flash's escapades.
But, it was for charity...and Wally was acutely aware of the fact that Linda had just called him sexy to the entire world.
"A race for charity? That sounds awesome! What do you think, Superboy?"

Well, yes, Kid Flash. Since it's for a good cause.
::Lex smiled. He had never been so happy to lose ten thousand dollars.::
Give LexCorp a couple of weeks to put this together and we'll determine the Fastest Boy Alive! And I suppose the artist who made the jet is the winner. His prize will be...dinner at my penthouse and there I will give a check to make up for today's disaster.
::But the artist would never leave. Lex would have another subject for his experiments.::

" So, Kid Flash... you just accepted a charity race against Superboy. Do you have any comments about the race.."

Wally suddenly realized that Aspen had vanished. Urgh. He hadn't even had a chance to buy her dinner and snuggle in front of a cozy fire....probably to hear more stories about how awesome water is.
Oh, well. Wally West had his 'casual' date with Clawdeen Wolf tomorrow at the Monster High school dance to take the sting out of being ditched. For now, Kid Flash had an interview.
"I gotta admit, I've wondered myself who's faster, Linda. Me or Superboy? I mean, speed is kind of my thing, but he's got a slight edge in experience. I hope as many people show up to cheer us on as possible, because I promise it'll be awesome."
Kid Flash flashed her a huge smile. Hadn't she said something nasty to Wally earlier? Who cares, she thought he was sexy. It made his heart do a funny skip-beat in a way that Frankie Kane or Cassie Sandsmark never did. Was it....
Nah...probably just a reaction to his ego being stroked. He tried to keep it in check.
