Ianex Hmm...is it considered cheap to enter a fight with various clones already in place...it seems like an equally cheap way to counter infinite power to say "Nuh uh! That wasn't the real one!" Fight fire with childish fire. Counter: AOE psionics.

@Mydred: Completely agree as to Ertai's skills and 'strategy'
@Ianex: Ranma's not that bad...it's goofy, and it's weird, but it's funny.

The Mad Hatter Mydred Unfortunately no, because without being able to defend against Ertai's first assault you will have no chance to commence a counter-attack. I do agree that adding abilities to your character mid-fight would be cheap though and likewise it puts many characters, (specifically 'gunslingers' and 'swordfighters',) at an extreme disadvantage. Ertai just happened to make his character with godly powers and I'm sure it will be his opinion that whether or not your character has the ability to realize and comprehend his attack is "not his problem."Interrupt-post. Screw with him before he can pull his s**t. Move. He can't precisely pull apart atoms if you're moving due to the very nature of atoms, and in any case the "speed of psionics" he often brings up is a fair bit slower than he thinks it is. As for creating new abilities, you guys underrate it. The trick is versatility - can this character use their ability for something it wasn't designed to be used for with minimal or at most moderate alteration?

The problem with fighting Psionics with Psionics has already been noted in Ertai's God complex. Besides, I have no real desire to develop a psionic character...pyrokinetic yes...psionic, no.

Minor alterations for versatility are fine with me, but I cannot place a way to protect my mind with my favorite character (Ianex).
The others (Hohoemi no Bakudan and Jack the Pimper [Both of whom are currently entered]) have powers that I can manipulate to my defense just fine.
The main reason Ianex is not entered to fight yet is because I cannot find a way to protect him from things like that, but the keep moving thing sounds fairly doable...any other suggestions.
Edit: Allow me to clarify...I have a fair amount of characters, but many are COMPLETELY gimped by tournament rules...and thus...I can't really use them...others are just...meh...

Like I said, interrupt him. While he's warping his energy through the multiverse, set his eyes on fire. A high-speed healing tech would likely negate the effects of atomic disintegration as well.

Keeping in mind, that roleplaying a fight, especially in a tournament setting, is a very different experience than what I see psions doing. The easiest analogy is PvE (Player vs Enemy) as opposed to PvP (Player vs Player). I argue that psionics in a PvP setting is not creative, and not skillful, and not appropriate, for this reason. What skill is involved, (for everything doable has a skill level to it) lies within how you describe what you are doing with your enemy's mind/body. Unless you have tailored your character to counter this odd means of attack, you are virtually powerless. Thus, it ruins the point of the PvP battle entirely, in which both players describe attack and defense. I choose not to speak towards specific players, but rather towards the umbrella name for what many players use, because the constant repetition of blame on one person is annoying, especially when they like it. It doesn't address the issue that this method of roleplay has no place in a PvP battle, and even less in a sanctioned tournament. Essentially, fight fair, fight like a man, or give everyone the ability to have some psychic presence, enough to resist psionic attack. Kaminosai Having a reason to be overpowered doesn't mean it's okay to be overpowered. [paraphrased] Anonymooo "And thus spake the Great and Holy God of all that is Online RP, for he deemed the rabbits, and the anchovies, and the carp, and the sloths, and the planar psionicists to be unclean animals, not to be eaten nor associated with for fear that you too shall become unclean." "Don't be a ******** n00b." Anonymous I'm more here to fight, than anything else. How it gets done doesn't really matter, as long as fun was had. Reposted for post-erity.

Hasn't it been previously mentioned that Ertai has far to many abilities, other than just psionics?
He seems to have planned for the only possible victor over him to be another immortal who has mastered an equal amount of stuff.

Ertai states having infinite minds and likewise can execute infinite psionic tasks at once. That is what he uses in case someone attempts a counterattack. Its a clever trick he uses to loop-hole around the "speedhacker" clause of AMP.
He also states that the execution of his attacks take place at near the speed of light. This alone can be considered godmoding as no mortal being and probably not a single character in this entire tournament can think and react at anywhere near the speed of light. His attack is basically unavoidable unless you stated to have coincidentally done something before the execution of his attack to block it, in turn making you violate the "McFly" clause in AMP.
Its a lose/lose situation.

Ianex Heck, I may even watch the anime...until I realized the same thing, plus it was made by the people who did Inuyasha. It makes me sad to see "trivia" like this. crying Point of fact, the manga for Ranma 1/2 was made by Takahashi Rumiko, author of Inuyasha, another brilliant (if long-winded) work from one of the greatest cartoonists on the face of the planet. The anime for Ranma 1/2 was made by Studio Deen--same company that did Rurouni Kenshin, You're Under Arrest, and GetBackers, and was in fact an extremely well-done anime with animation that often rivaled theatrical work. The ridiculously disappointing Inuyasha anime was made by Studio Sunrise, the company responsible for such greats as Cowboy Bebop, Escaflowne, and a little something-something called Gundam. This is how you do NOT make an anime based off a long-running manga. Even the original version of it wasn't that good. xd

Cziri's RP list to do, in list of urgency. -- 1. Respond to tournament match. 2. Construct profile for Cziri and send it to Ertai. 3. Construct profile for new character, and enter him in the tournament. 4. Construct profile for Bang~Bamg~Zera. 5. Construct profile for the Lost Prophet, and rebuild the said character.

The name "Ertai" comes from MTG but the two characters are drastically different.
