Hate to break it to you, but it's all but confirmed that Megaman won't be in brawl. The guys over at Capcom say Nintendo hasn't contacted them over it, and right now, I think it would be too late to put him in.
And Ridley as a playable character? stressed
That won't work, simply because they've made him too big and badass. If the shrunk him down to put him in SSBB, it would be almost insulting to Ridley's badassery.
Also, Viewtiful Joe is a third-party character. xd
Geno? Well... Alot of people want him in there. But I wouldn't predict anything just yet. :p

Plus, Ridley's appeared as a cameo in both of the last two Smash Bros games, and they've even mentioned his name on the site. In my opinion, that stuff alone makes him a dead ringer... 3nodding But I ain't done yet... First of all, they NEED another Metroid character. No, ZS Samus doesn't count... And who better to include than Samus' archnemesis himself? The perspective you mentioned about downgrading him is true... however, the same could easily have been said for Bowser before they added him... 3nodding So that won't be a blocker for his entrance into Brawl. Shrinking him a little bit (like they did with Bowser) would have no hindrance to his awesomeness, I sez... Joe is 3rd party? Whoops... my bad. xp I actually don't even know that much about Geno, I've just heard that he would be good in Brawl....

I had (what I thought was) a good reason for everyone on here.... ..but I do think that they should definately have Bomberman. He's a classic, and he'd have plenty of viable moves.... ...........Oh and if you kill Sakurai-sama over something as petty as THAT, you are DEAD, sir. A genius such as him does not deserve such petty hatred for ONE (or two) so-called mistake(s)....

Ridley in the games
on Planet Zebes is not in Norfair....
Ridley is in Ridley
he has about a 6th of Planet Zebes named after him.... I wonder where he would be...
Nate the jackass translator used a reference that was incorrect. so yeah...
and not that I am trying to be an a*****e or anything. I want Ridley in Brawl as a playable character. Ridley is one of my favourite characters in all of Nintendo history. But I personally do not see him being a playable character, but that is just my personal opinion.
Also No Sora, Cloud or Wolf.
Sora could really fit into the series but KH has no real affiliation with Nintendo besides Chain of memories and the upcoming DS game. Cloud Has such a negative aura around him that Nintendo would not even go near him. To finish off Wolf and Fox are esentially the same thing. Fox, Wolf and Falco would basically be triplets in Brawl if all were included.
Mega man has been "deconfirmed" (not a word but whatever) in an interview with a capcom representative. I think that is complete Bullshit, Nintendo isnt stupid, Mega man and Sonic have been asked for since day one and Sonic is in after Sega reps denied his inclusion so yeah Megaman is in or Nintendo didn't read there own fan poll.
I love the idea of Vaati being in but I see him more along the lines or an AT or Boss. simply because I am pretty sure Capcom partly owns his character rights. He just has a trail of badassery that follows him though.
Geno has no chance in hell in my opinion. Square enix owns the character and is an obscure character who's jump in popularity is only because people want him in brawl and people noticed him and said cool.
Bowser Jr. is Damn near a Lock to get in Brawl in my opinion. No Shadow mario move though, he would be a clone no way around it. give Jr. his paint brush thing creatively and it will work... No Shadow mario.
Tails would be a great AT no objection there.
Balloon Fighter has a shot at playability but who knows?
Sorry I dispise Midna so I am biased on this one, so I will say no more.
Kraid is a great Boss, I can imagine him fighting against an odd team like Lucas and ... Squirtle for example... he would be great.
Robitnik better be in the SSE fighting Mario (all I have to say)
I would prefer Heavy lobster over Kracko. Heavy lobster is ideal for a boss in the Halberd.
Again just stating my opinions

I gotta agree with flygon. Too many people threaten Sakurai over ignorant bullcrap. Sure it is only the internet, but everybody is so ungrateful. I think that he souldn't have even put up the Dojo. Then people wouldn't know what was going on and they would stop threatening him because they don't like his updates or what he choose to put in.
I gotta disagree with a couple of things on your list, but I will keep my opinion to myself. I like that Bomberman is on there though. He is awesome. (Bomberman 64: The Second Attack is one of my favorite games of all time).

I think Whispy Woods should be in there as a boss somewhere. He is the first boss in almost every Kirby game. It would be good to see him in there somehow. I could deal with him being a stage again though.
I personally want to see some stationary bosses like Whispy Woods and Mother Brain (jar version). Stationary bosses are so much fun because they usually have wicked attacks. While they stand still, they force you to keep moving. It would be awesome if they gave a couple of the best immobile bosses some upgrades and then let them loose on the heroes.
Edit: They would have to give them shield breaking attacks to make sure you stayed moving though. Hehehehe.

One could say the same of your choices in defense of Ridley being in Brawl. If you notice, the Frigat Orphean is centered on the Queen Parasite's containment room. Nothing to mention of Meta-Ridley, or the area that you see him for the first time. And yeah.. Bowser has changed back and forth from time to time. But have you noticed that Ridley hasn't? He's only gotten larger. He's gotten progressively larger with each game, ultimately arriving at the 3-times-as-big-as-you size in Metroid Prime. Now, he's a full-fledged cyborg space-dragon. And shrinking him down to size for SSBB would be an insult to him. Like shrinking Unicron or the Death Star down to human size. That ruins their splendor. Don't call me delusional, please. I didn't say your opinions were crap, but I should have stated "I don't THINK that would work". Sorry about that. Also, the vein was because we get alot of "Ridley for BRAWL LOLOLOLOLOL!!!" in here. On a side note, yeah, I think Viewtiful Joe would go in nicely too. I'm sure they cold do it without him being a C.Falcon clone, though.

Yeah... the thing is, Sora and Cloud would either A) Ruin the game. B) Force Nintendo to port it to PS3, C) Make it horribly one sided in their favor (Buster Sword > Anything Nintendo has to offer, according to stupid FF fanboys) OR D) All of the above.
If he did that, he'd be dead in my eyes, unless he confirmed in an interview that I saw with my own eyes in person that he was coerced into it somehow.
Other than that... Bomberman I'd like, he'd be comedic to see around. Krystal... I'd like to see her with the staff and all, but hm... I think all she's really going to get is the same that peppy and slippy got in SSBM. Voice and picture cameos.
I like the assist Trophies, nuff said.
The Boss predictions... I don't like them, (Save Robotnik, he's my favorite), but they do seem possible, especially Rayquaza.

I am a Really big Ridley fan so you cant rub it in if he is playable... I would just rejoice xd
Fox's moveset is already set in stone so no point in going over it.
Falco has promo art with him holding a Bazooka, a character with a Bazooka running after peach is enough to warrant a Bazooka moveset.
Wolf would most likely be Fox with a Rifle and different attributes like Speed, weight and power. I could be wrong not being a starfox fan beyond Falco and Krystal.
Vaati as a human using Magic/Wind attacks with Melee attacks thrown in there would be an interesting moveset. but just saying that I can see the similarities to Zelda... it would be interesting to see the differences from Zelda-Vaati. As a boss again using wind, Magic and Melee attacks in the SSE would be really interesting. Personally I would really be interested on how he would attack on a 2-D plane instead of the Grid type top down look of Minish cap/4swords he would be a solid PC or Boss.
See Geno is an obscure character xd . He is a Posessed Doll that uses energy and projectile attacks. He was in a turn based RPG and if I recall correctly had no Melee weapons so it would be interesting to see his inclusion.
Jr. I think is in 100%, the biggest new character that Nintendo introduced during the GCN era in the eyes of a lot of people. Having 2 Bowser's would not only be pure badass, but a Bowser stage would finally be made. Not to mention the long ranged paint brush would be a massively interesting moveset... that's for sure. Again, Shadow mario is just not really a good idea when clones were targeted to be removed from Brawl.
True Kracko has been in essentially every game, but with the Halberd being such an important part of the main story you have to think that you enter the ship and fight a boss and the Heavy Lobster is the defense of the Halberd in Revenge of Meta Knight.
