((Just for that marvelous display... I will reward you 100 chips. That way I don't have to change anything in the roster. ^.~))

The little girl's eyes seem to change to a look only describable as a bright happiness. Your optic sensors detect something...

Although she seems to be mostly this lightyears-behind clockwork and magic stuff... Her face and other parts of the body seemed to be created out of a technology that was only about half a lightyear away from the technology which you were created from... Which would explain the slightly creepy almost real face. It wasn't real. Just oh so close.

The litte girl chews on the cookie. "Thank you, Metal Man!" She manages to say... Even though it does not look like she can eat the cookie and was simply smashing it into her mouth region of her face repeateadly. Clunk, bang, clunk...

The spellsword fall backwards, but he quickly recovered from the cookie-shock. Suddenly Bellamin made a lunge at her. "Freaky Metal man! I ain't afraid of cookies! You the answer to my problems! Can't you think of me for once! Selfish cat!"

Well, what he said was a lot shorter with more swearing and stuff not decent to be said in the presence of children... But that was the basic jist of it yes.

And the cookie part was a lie. He was now deathly afraid of cookies.

The little girl screamed and jumped off the bar. Bellamin would've grabbed her... If it were not for the foreign sounding man in tar and feathers tripping him. Mr. Solan smashed into the floor face first.

Angered, Bellamin and the man started exchanging insults, swears, and fisticuffs. However there was no real damage done, both seemed slightly intoxicated and both were rather big weenies anyways.

"She's mine! And I need her back NOW!"

"Finder's Keepers!"

They both said but with more profanity and harshness.

The little girl dived down underneath a table.

"Uncle Belli tried to sell me again!" She cried.

[[Waiting for more people. A bar-brawl tis no fun with only three people and two NPCs.]]

The door to the tavern opens with a squeak (probably due to Bellamin's Spartan kick) and Vincent steps in unnoticed (thanks in no small part to Bellamin and the tar-and-feathers-man-with-strange-accent's fight. Having heard the last little bit of the conversation, Vincent walks over to the little clockword girl. "My name is Vincent, little one. What might your name be? And more importantly, would you like me to stop those two from fighting. Vincent turns toward the fight and speaks up so that the other two can hear, "Or would you rather I beat them up and then we can talk out what happened?"

A soft pale hand appears on Vincent's shoulder, it was that of Mitzka who had finally moved form her bar seat. "I'm not sure if that would be the best course of action, as we hardly have a full understanding of what is going on. Besides..." Mitzka motions to the two men yelling inanely at each other and giggles. "They seem mostly harmless, is it not amusing though?"

"Greetings, Mitzka. And yes, it might not be the best course of action, but I'd still like to know more about what's going on. An unbiased third party seemed like the best idea. And Bellamin is far from harmless. He's just a nice, unassuming guy...now tar-and-feather-man, I totally agree with him being harmless...It is comical watching them, but I'd rather figure this out now before things elevate themselves." Vincent turns back to the child, "Your name, little one?"

(((kekeke... Don't you just love wordplays?))

The child's liquid expressions changed once more to a happy smile.

"Marie-Annette!" That rather odd looking and out-of-place fuzzy tail standed erect and curled slightly at the end. A sign of excitement for cats.

Then, she restarted her lip quivering. "He kidnapped me... and then that meanie tried to sell me so he could go to a party!"
The little girl pointed towards Bellamin who was currently trying to liberate his cape from the tar of the tar covered man. The long tail started to wag back and forth as she looked afraid again. But her face quickly blurred then into a sharp-toothed smile. "You'd protect me won't you?"

There was something odd about her. Mabye it was the stiff-wooden body... Mabye the face which looked not-quite-so alive... Or mabye it was the organic cat-tail hanging out of a girl which seemed entirely made of wood and metal. No wait... Probably the most disturbing feature was how she looked as a whole... A small, pretty little girl. Odd and rather creepy, but the craftsmanship and attention to detail was almost perfect.

Bellamin could never pull something like this off and have it look so alive.

A figure entered the tavern, clothed loosely and every inch of skin covered in tight dark black bandages. A mask covered its face, though not a familiar mask to anyone who could have known. The figure was neither male nor female, neither old nor young. It had the Palor and smell of something not unlike a monster itself. As it walked calmly into the room and took a seat along the wall closest to the combatants it seemed to almost draw all the energy from that end of the room. Beneath the mask a face blurred and contoured a white ghastly grin.

Sitting in the back of the tavern in a poorly lit booth set in the middle of the back wall was the familiar sight of Firu the Valiant Knight, for anyone who is particularly attentive you would notice that he is always seated there and might have trouble remembering the last time you saw him leave. And tho he did not say or do anything in reaction to the situation unfolding he was paying close attention to it.

For those who know him better he mainly acts as a self appointed defender of the peace and guardian of the weak.

"A pleasure, Miss Marie-Annette." Vincent said with a small, polite bow to the girl...mostly for show. This girl's craftmenships is...beyond Bellamin. He's good, but war machines are more his specialty...not near-to-life automatons...Who then? Certainly not the tar and feather man. She said he'd kidnapped her...hmm... Vincent suddenly stands and walks slowly over to the two quarreling men. He stands in front of them (and is totally ignored) for several seconds before grabbing both men on the shoulder and giving a rather unpleasant smile, "Hi gents. Care for a chat?"

Mitzka shrugged and let go of Vincent's shoulder. She still felt the situation was to unclear to merit her intervening. If Vincent did need help she would She would jump to his side, but she figured he'd probably be fine. Mitzka took a closer look at the girl. She had a lot of experience with clockworks, but had never seen anything quite like this girl before. Still, she did not trust her, cuteness did not necessarily equate to innocence. She knew that first hand. Her life experiences had taught her to never trust anyone. Vincent was a rare exception, and he had earned her trust. However as she looked around the room she saw another face she had come to trust.

She walked over and took a seat at Firu's booth, her long blond hair flowing elegantly behind her. You notice she seems strangely familiar. "Greetings Knight. Though you may not remember me, I remember you. You might recall a few years ago you stopped me from stealing the soul of a friend of yours at my families manor with the help of my brother and a goofy little gnome wizard." She looked embarrassed for a moment. "I must say I've done my best to mend my ways and am not up to that any more."

Bellamin looked angry while the tar'n' feathered man looked... Well...

"Idiot! I'll have you know I run an orphanage. And I'd think I could find her a better family then whatever the you could do!"

Bellamin growled. "Vincent? What? I'm busy here."

A gleam of fire and electricity appeared in Bellamin's eye. A plan; or atleast some bloodlust, boiled up into the spellsword's mind.

"Come on Vincent, buddy ol' pal! This girl is worth a lot... To me. You see that don't you?"

The other man was near foaming. "Ha~ Ha! You see he's-"

Bellamin landed a firm kick in the groin region. Stunning the man, but his shoe was stuck...

Firu looks at the young lady for a moment and then says, "Ah yes I remember, you are looking very well I am glad to say." Then he puts his arm around her shoulder and gives her a comforting one armed hug. "I am really glad to hear that you have regained control of your life, and patched thing up with your brother. As one of my mentors told me, your past can only harm you if you let it consume you. Anyway what have you been up to lately?"

Mitzka is surprised by the sudden hug from the valiant knight. She makes sure her spectral form is solid enough to receive it. Mitzka shyly looks away for a moment. Receiveing, such a friendly physical gesture was unusual for her. She went on solemnly. “Yes well, my brother and I still have a bit of a standoffish relationship. Though I know he means for the best. I must say it’s hard to let of the past when you are part of it. I am like a stone stuck in a river, watching the ebbs and flows go by, my own journey cut short 30 years ago. However…” and her blue eyes seem to brighten up as she looks back at Firu. “I have broken free from confining sediment and can now roll along with the river once again. Though my edges will not wear.”

"I think you both need to..." Vincent begins as he lifts both of them up by their shoulders and tears them apart from each other. He then walks over and sets them both on to two of the stools at the bar, "Take a seat." Vincent lets go of them, ignoring the tar now on his hand, and looks at them both in turn. "Bellamin...where did you find the girl? And what...exactly do you plan to do with her that she is worth so much...to you." Vincent then turns to the tar-and-feather-man, "And you, once you regain your breath, should tell me your interest in the girl. Clockwork girls aren't exactly your normal children you know..."

"Well it's understandable that a little bit of animosity remains, however as siblings you have a bond that should withstand any tribulation. In time he should learn to cherish your being here over any past transgressions. After all what's more important than family?"

"As for the odd turn of events your life's path has taken I wish you all the luck in the world finding your place." Firu reaches into one of his belt pouches and pulls out an elaborate looking signet ring bearing the Aráethos family crest on it, "You know I still have this from the last time I was at your family's manor it still brings back memories."

"I found her in the basement a few months ago. I've been fixing her up ever since. But she's no ordinary clockwork girl. Do you see the way she talks and the way she has emotion! Has a face which moves! This is something beyond my scope of magic! Beyond what everybody has seen so far! There's no magical coding, no ghost in the machine or demon within the mechanics; its like that girl has her own soul, not bound, but actually belonging in there. This is big! Its my ticket outta living in squalor!"

"All the more reason to give her over to me. If she really has a living soul then it would be better if she did not stay with an idiot like you. I found her running through the streets scared half to death... You know I got covered like this protecting her from street thugs."

Bellamin scowled. "Wha? Shes not a real girl! And even if she was, I found her, shes mine! I found her first! She's my clockwork! My discovery! My big break! My fortune!" Bellamin started to get more immature, while the man started to sit there. You can practically feel his frustration if you couldn't see it.

The little girl sat in the corner and continued to try to eat the cookie; although having no mouth it was hard to eat. Especially a super-dense carbohydrate and sucrose-based super substance.

((gah, I had something marvelous written, then my laptop gets angry at me so this wall of conversation will have to do ^.^;;]]
