 i wish i would have caught one of those. especially that OMG!!! it would have been mean, but i would have sold that and been sooo much closer to getting that scarf ninja
cuchillo de palo... instead of stick, how about 'wood'? not a direct translation, but it makes more sense. and i think you're missing a comma.

It was an OMFG. razz My Spanish teacher said that it was "stick". She also acknowledged that it made absolutely no sense in English and the English equivalent had nothing to do with any of the words in the proverb.

'palo' is one of them, as most sticks are made of wood 3nodding
Idiom: En casa del herrero, cuchillo de palo. Literal: In the blacksmith's house, a wooden knife. English: In the blacksmith's house, a wooden knife.
There is an English proverb that says something like "The blacksmith's mare and the shoemaker's children are the worst shod." It's gotta be something in relation to that.
