i wish i would have caught one of those. especially that OMG!!! it would have been mean, but i would have sold that and been sooo much closer to getting that scarf ninja

cuchillo de palo... instead of stick, how about 'wood'?
not a direct translation, but it makes more sense. and i think you're missing a comma.

It was an OMFG. razz

My Spanish teacher said that it was "stick". She also acknowledged that it made absolutely no sense in English and the English equivalent had nothing to do with any of the words in the proverb.

well, that's just not true. i mean it is, but... a lot of words are interchangeable when it comes to things like this. 'palo' is one of them, as most sticks are made of wood 3nodding

Idiom: En casa del herrero, cuchillo de palo.
Literal: In the blacksmith's house, a wooden knife.
English: In the blacksmith's house, a wooden knife.

There is an English proverb that says something like "The blacksmith's mare and the shoemaker's children are the worst shod." It's gotta be something in relation to that.

Same here.

And I'm supposed to know it apparently, being Hispanic.

I'm also supposed to be Catholic I guess.

And mow lawns. Stereotypes are fun. whee

I also love the Simple Life.

Psh, who needs stereotypes? People that stereotype are jerks. mad d

But seriously, I suppose it's just bound to happen as part of human nature.
