omg... if u play a mellophone, u r probably an old trumpet dungbrain, who knows absolutely nothing about a french horn. i am a true french hornist, and have been for almost 5 years. those of u who cannot play on the original F horn or on the double(like me) horn in the keys of Bb and F, u should not b here because u are fakes.

ya, my section! in my school, french horn is kinda like, the forgotten instrument and not much attention is given to us T.T it makes me mad when people see me carrying the case around and sk if its a tuba. they're idiots. the nice thing of french horn is that the notes(when played right) glide out and sounds awesome. it like, the ghost in the orchestra

I hate mellophone, but that doesn't mean you have to hate the trumpet players who move to it...
Lol! Hey guys! I'm both French Horn and Mellophone, I'm a freshmen and I'm in the marching band. I'm the least experienced player because this is only my second year (yeeaaah... late start, so sue me), but I am the loudest and most accurate. They really miss me when I'm not there wink

French Horn is awesome! It's truthfully the only brass instrument I like the sound of. But of course, it doesn't sound good at all if you're new. Then it sounds like a dying moose or something... I just started this year (a few months back), and so every time I practice, my brother complains and complains. And I don't blame him. biggrin But I'm bound to get good eventually! Boy, is it ever a hard instrument...

I so agree!!!! I'm forced to play mellophone during pep band and I hate it!! its like the anti horn!!!!!!!!!! its always out of tune, the bell is hard to keep up because the weight isn't distributed evenly, and its just a pain to listen too in general. Its almost impossible to make it sound half way decent. The only reason why they make it is so we don't have to march onto the fields with our horns and look really stupid trying to keep our hands in the bell lol

Ok so I was really bored with one of my friends in my my section and we though of this chart its amazzzing lol.
Genders of horns Double horn with screw on bell- male horns Double horn with out screw on bell- female horn single horn- undecided embryo mellophone- trans gender (we have one at school thats painted the school colors and thats a drag queen) triple horn/descant- Jesus you should believe it exist but it should never be seen or played. (plus triple trinity)
little random but it was really funny. What do you think?
