Christof grunted in relief as she helped him regain his balance, and took a moment to glance around to see if anyone had seen him faulter- no one seemed to care, but he did catch sight of glowing blue through the dim lights... meeting with Amrita to take her off to the back of the dance floor.
His grip on Maple's shoulder tightened before he remembered they were dancing and he picked it up again, more furiously this time to the beat of the faster music. He shouldn't look, he didn't want to look, but he couldn't help stealing what glances he could.

"You were just what?" Curiousity killed the Patchwork...wasn't that how the saying went? Really though, what could be sillier than marrying students at Prom? The idea seemed to amuse the ghoul though, and she chuckled regardless.
"I do! I'm just...not very good at it, and I definitely wouldn't be caught living dancing by myself." She chuckled, scratching the back of her neck with a free hand, the other still wrapped around her stomach. For that long minute of silence she was content to stand near him and watch everyone else, but as he extended a hand he caught her attention, her gaze shifting to stare at his claws.
...Pretend to be a couple, huh? She had to admit it wasn't a bad idea...
It was her turn to stay silent in thought, pondering her options and weighing her concerns. "...Okay, let's pretend." She agreed with a small smile and a faint blush, turning to place her hand in his. With a few careful steps she closed the space between them for one last dance.

Oh no. Tears. Now he just felt awkward. Luckily for Mac, he had a distraction. A very loud distraction named Hel. Who was accusing him of something or other.
"No, I'm ending a stupid fight before it happens! Drop it, Hel. She's a twig of a thing." And she was crying, and it was her first prom, and just...afjghakjgha. His feels were hurting for her. "Yeah, but I don't stop people from touching you, nor did I stop you from running around naked with another boil." His voice dropped into a low growl once more, his dark eyes narrowing. Yeah, he saw that on critter.

"I bet you're adorable when grumpy, though." Gene smiled, squeezing his hand back. A grumpy Mot? How was that even possible? She could imagine it, though - Mot, looking groggy and sad but still being a gentleman, though he may not have wanted to be. His hair messier than usual, clothes all mussed up, a droopy posture. A+ cute factor.
"Haha, I guess no one starts out perfect, do they? I burnt my fist batch of home roast to a crisp - they made lovely chocolate covered candies, though." She giggled at that memory, when she'd given them away to anyone willing to try one. Some pretended to like it, and others wanted more.
"You know, I don't think I even went to my first year's prom."

No falling, that was a good sign. Stumbling often lead to it in her experience but the larger boil seemed to have enough of himself to steady the pair of them (she had no idea if she had helped enough. Really).
The witch felt his tightened grip, it wasn't enough to hurt but it was obvious enough to notice. And she would probably not get anything from the silent giant of what it meant, or if it was just another precautionary measure to make sure they wouldn't go tumbling. But as quickly as it was, Christof seemed to compose himself again and returned fully into dancing. Quicker, faster and now the only thing on Maple's mind was to keep up. It seemed... a little erratic.

The last song of the evening. Ren swayed a little with the microphone, at last serious about what he was doing (or, well, mostly serious). He flapped his wings once, and smiled.
"Thanks for listening to all of us performers tonight," he said, and the smile widened. "This last song is for everyone - everyone, even if you came by yourself. For all the happy couples, for all the not happy couples, for all the happy and sad and angry and frustrated and cheerful and shy and outgoing and whatever else you might be people out there."
He gave a mock salute, and grinned, his tail curling around the microphone, giving a wink to LW.
"Maybe you can show me some of those now," he challenged in a purring voice, lingering before Shaheen with barely a sway to his body now that he had . . . most energetically thrown himself into the songs before. "I think I've had enough of these smells and sights, haven't you? I think," a few of his nails brushed under her chin as he grinned at her, "that you've been adopting too many students and not spending enough time with me."
Which was clearly her fault. Clearly. But see, he was being the better man by trying to fix that! He could be mature about this, Shaheen.
"Shall we?"
This song was way too sappy an slow for him.

"Thack..." Erebus breathed, a slow sad smile flickering across his face as his brother's ears began to droop with every word. He wasn't really quite sure what to say for a few moments, so he simply settled for patting his brother on the shoulder. "I'm happy as long as you're happy." It wasn't as if he knew anything about love anyway...
"A-apparently." He told Tomoko with a shrug. "But well..." Erebus watched his brother leave to greet his boilfriend, arms crossed and eyebrows crinkled in worry. At least Thack wasn't going to get married this way. At least. "Tomoko, are you..." He took in a deep breath. "Are you happy?"
It seemed that what Thackery had been talking about had made Erebus quite pensive. "I haven't really been a good prom date, after all..." Come to think of it, they hadn't ridden any rides, or won each other any prizes. "......Do you want this last dance?" He asked, holding out his hand.
Yeah sure, maybe he had said he wasn't a terribly good dancer, and maybe he had balked at slow dancing, but when he thought about it, it was better than wiggling his arms and legs awkwardly to a fast song.
It was the least he could do for Tomoko, after all.
Piper gave him an amused look and plucked one of the confections from his plate to pop into her mouth. "It's Prom, Brenley. What'd you expect?"
Pause.
". . . Well okay, I admit I wasn't expecting fake marriages and clown gnomes and stuff," she added, chewing thoughtfully before swallowing. "But hey, spontaneous can be fun! If a little weird for my tastes . . ."
She was trying very hard not to think of Kettil and Freya and their very dumb ideas.
The Dj shifted to the last song and she pouted, because good will or not Piper was not a slow dancer. "Wanna dance real quick? We don't have to do it all gushy and stuff, but you should have some fun before this thing ends--and I happen to be a master of fun~"

Keeping her hands in Spinars, she carefully guides him back into the main tent, just as the last song of prom starts. It happen to be a slow song, and she couldn't help but chuckle as she looks at Spinar. She wasn't sure how he would feel about the song, but it was worth seeing if he would dance with her. After all, if she had to have her last dance be with anyone, she would like it to be with Spinar.
Pulling her hands from him, she place her hands on her hips as she glance around "Prom really almost over, this is crazy." she shakes her head as she glance towards Spinar.
"Adorable?" Mot had to laugh. "You're strange." He said with endearment; thoug perhaps if he imagined it reversed. Yes, a grumpy little Gene would definitely have a cute factor to it. But Mot would simply wish to try and "fix" what was making her grumpy.
"Heh. I've got to say, I am not a fan of sweets.. but chocolate covered coffee beans?" He winked. "The best."
Mot tilted his head then, "Really? You didn't attend your first Prom? Gosh.. I have find memories of mine. But, that just means this on eis your first. I hope you enjoyed it, despite working through half of it."

Oh wow. Dude. This was like... serious relationship drama. Lottie looked between the two, mentally debating on letting the two be. After all, this was very much not her business anymore.
Ah... but...
Lottie found some leftover candies that had fallen down her bra, wordlessly pulling them out and eating them while slowly walking backward.
Yep. Her job here was done.

Tilt tilt tilt. Tomoko's head inclined ever so slightly at Erebus' question.
"Why wouldn't I be happy? I've been having a really good time this year." she smiled in answer. She looked up towards the stage as the song changed, waving a small wave towards Ren (not that he would notice her, haha). Then she looked back to her date.
"A dance?
I'd love to dance with you, Erebus." she smiled, offering him her hand.
Bastion refused to cower under the larger stallion. He refused. Except he kind of did a little. Only a little, though. Hardly noticeable, really.
Noni's hug made him chuckle, and he returned the favor, a flush on his face. He didn't know when was the last time, if ever, he'd heard those words. But he was proud, too. And it showed.
"I believe she has found a few friends to commiserate with for a moment. After all, the prom is for her, I am only the guest." He frowned, looking into the crowd. "I wanted you to meet her. I'm sorry. Perhaps another time."
Not you though, Soren. Bastion was sure, as soon as Sophie laid her eyes on the stallion, she would see Bastion in a much less favorable light.
Stupid Soren.

The last song, and what had he done all evening? Sulk like a petulant child because he hadn't really wanted to be here in the first place, because it was an event meant for the creatures of Halloween, and he was a Horseman, he was better than this, he did not want to spend his time catering to the whims of those beneath him.
But he did so very much want to just be with Lifen, so Mengyao Miao swallowed his pride, reached out, and took the hand of the woman he loved.
He curled his fingers against hers and drew her slowly towards him, one hand sliding to rest around her waist. The other drew her fingers with his, entwining them together, and he took a small, almost hesitant step forward, and then a step back, swaying along with the music.
"I do not believe I've told you," he said softly, a smile playing at the corners of his lips. "that you look truly beautiful tonight."
A bow and a kiss to the back of Whisper's hand, their dance coming to a close, the wolfos turned to Ren, ears perked and he walked over, winking at a few ghouls and smiling as well.
Flirting? Maybe. Just a little bit. He was feeling confident tonight, and waltzing up onto the stage, the ghost was quiet ready for what was about to... go 'down'.
