Kai smirked, despite the situation they were in. "Taki! I never knew you cared." He looked at Taki's shirt for a second, contemplating how he was meant to do this before he noticed teh knife at Taki's waist.

He took it and cut a small slit in the bottom of the shirt, weakening the fabric. He put the knife back down beside Taki and held teh two ednds of the shirt. "Sorry if this hurts." He said quietly before ripping the right side away from the left, trying not to move his left hand. Once the right side was free he folded it back and, slowly, did the same to the left side of Taki's shirt, leaving the Russian's chest exposed.

Kai swore quietly as he saw the damage Fayina's bullet had done. "Kevin?" He asked.

Sonia jumped as Wolborg appeared. "What the hell is that?" She asked, backing away slowly from the large dog.

Brooklyn scowled at Bryan for leaving him, ignoring Wolborgs sudden appearance. He was too tired to care.

Boris scowled when no one moved. "Now!" He said.

"No." Kai said flatly. "You can't go to sleep, only when I tell you."

He placed the start of the bandage carefully on Taki's chest and began to unroll it before thinking of something and stopping. "Won't the bullet still be in there?" He asked. "Not to sound crude- but it didn't come out the other side."

Sonia shook her head. "Balcov hasn't said anything about them." She looked at Wolborg warily for another second before dismissing him as a danger.

"He's been obsessed lately with these ruins that a team found and there's been mention of them there- I can't remember why, though." She shrugged. "I don't think it's something he wants his sub-ordinates to know about."

She gestured toward Wolborg. "You wonder why."

Boris' eyes narrowed. "Did I ask for your guesses?" He asked icily. "The person that I sent knows I don't want Taki's death to be a secret- and even then- this place has cameras everywhere" He glared at the man who had stood up.

"I want to see him on this monitor," He said, pointing to the closest monitor with a security camera stream, "within 10 minutes." He looked at everyone in the office. "Are we clear? I do not want anyone to tell me that he's dead until I see it for myself."

Having said that, he stalked to his chair that was central in the room. "Have I made myself clear?"

Kai bit his lip and set to work, quickly bandaging Taki's shoulder and chest as tightly as he could, ignoring the fact that he was less than an amateur. His first real experience with bandaging had happened when he had had to bandage his own leg on the plane to get to this hellhole.

He sighed as he finished it, hoping that it would do the trick. "If you get lead poisoning, don't blame me." He told the wounded Russian.

Brooklyn held up his hand. "But I can't use mine." He told Sonia.

The blonde frowned. "Why not?"

Brooklyn shrugged. "It's complicated." He said by way of explanation. "Needless to say, I can't use mine."

Boris, oblivious to what was happening with the monitors, was busy searching for more information regarding Kai's sacred spirit. He shut his eyes and rubbed the lids with his fingers before opening them again to continue reading. Why do you have to fight me? He wondered, his mind wandering again to the subject of Taki.

"I'm not leaving you." Kai said firmly before shrugging. "Besides, I don't know where Kia and the others buggered off to after we left." He frowned as he remembered something. "And I want to know where the hell the other Kai went."

Sonia smirked but hid it behind her hand. "They sound absolutely charming." She said under her breath.

Brooklyn sighed and closed his eyes, not noticing that he was actually swaying from exhaustion. "I know I'll probably have to use it at some point." He said wearily, opening his eyes again. "I just don't want to it be anytime soon."

Boris looked up at that and rose, walking over to where the two men were. "Dead or Alive?" He asked simply.

Kai sighed and nodded, watching the white bandage over Taki's shoulder warily, worried that blood would once again begin to show through, despite his efforts.

"Sure." He said finally, moving away from the bed and finding a chair to sit on.

"Remember you told me that you wouldn't die on me." He told Taki firmly, crossing his arms and moving to get comfortable on the chair. "I'm going to keep you to that."

Kai shut his eyes and sighed, wondering what Tala was doing.

Brooklyn's eyes widened as Bryan held him. "Bry-?" He asked quietly. He blinked in confusion before slumping in Bryan's grip, unconscious.

Sonia started as she saw Brooklyn collapse. "What in the hell?" She asked, looking between Bryan and Brooklyn. "What's happening?" She asked before turning back to Kia. "Who are these people?"

Boris swore as he saw the repeated image of Kai bending over Taki to bandage his wound. "Why can't he just die?" He asked no one in particular, kicking the legs of one of the officer's chairs.

Boris frowned as he noticed another moving figure in the corner of the video. All he could see was the top of someone's dark hair. He tapped the screen and looked at the two officers.

"I'm going to go and take care of Taki. You two find out who this smart b*****d is. He thinks he can hide by sneaking around in the corners." He sneered. "I want to know who he is by the time I get back." He looked between the two officers. "Understood?"

Kai led Fayina into the room that he had left with his twin and Taki. He swore when he saw that it was empty.

"Kai-sama?" Fayina asked quietly.

"Mm?"

"Will Ni-san be angry with me?"

"Somehow I don't think putting a knife that close to your head is healthy." Kai told Taki from his position. "It might put a dent in your public speaking career."

He raised an eyebrow as he continued to eye it. "Why does it matter anyway?" He asked. "It's just a knife."

He sighed and relaxed into his chair, realising that they'd probably be in this room for a while. He may as well be comfortable in it.

"Key players my..." She frowned as she couldn't think of the word she wanted. I really -haven't- used English for a while She thought ruefully before walking over to Bryan. "Has he been sleeping lately?" She asked, her accent becoming more clipped.

She tucked some strands of hair that had fallen out from behind her ear back into place as she looked at Bryan, waiting for an answer.

Boris took one last look at the looped picture, taking note that the caption at the bottom of the screenshot said that the camera was located in Taki's room. He checked at his waistband to make sure his gun was firmly attached to it and strode of if the office, intent on the task at hand.

He was going to make sure it was done properly this time.

Kai blinked down at the little girl. "Of course not!" He told her. "Why would you think that?"

She shook her head. "I can't remember. But I think I did something really bad."

Kai shook his head and bent down to pick her up, holding her slight frame easily. "You're Ni-san would never be angry with you." He told her, carrying her back out to the hallway to see if he could somehow guess where everyone had gone.

He saw a figure moving through the hallway and ducked into a doorway before recognising the green hair. He frowned as he tried to remember the vertically-challenged boy's name and failed. Instead, he stepped out of his hiding place. "Do you know where Kia and the others went?" He asked.

Rei sighed as he realised he couldn't stay where he was all day. He stood up slowly and stretched. He looked towards the bed for a second before deciding that he didn't want to sleep anymore.

But what to do? He wondered.

Kai's mouth formed an 'o' of understanding. From what he had gathered about Taki's past the Russian couldn't be sure if his father was alive or not. Not a great position to be in.

At least I really know that my father's gone. He thought ruefully.

"Go to sleep." He ordered Taki. "You know Kevin's not going to be able to keep this secret from Kia for long. You should rest while you can."

Sonia glanced up at Tala and saw the effects of the non-sleep on the redhead. She looked up at Kia. "Your key players aren't going to be much help if they're all in this state when you need them." She told the brunette reproachfully.

She looked back down at Brooklyn and sighed, "I think I might know somewhere where you can all rest." She said, looking at Bryan who seemed to be the only truly coherent one. "Not all of the cameras in this section work."

Boris marched down the hallway towards Taki's room, ignoring the random people who stopped to salute him as they walked past. They didn't matter at that moment.

Taki did.

"See?" Kai asked Fayina, adjusting his grip on her so she could lean her head on his shoulder. "I told you we'd find your Ni-san." He switched his attention from Her to Kevin. "How's Taki?"

Kai frowned as he considered something. "Do I really want to know?"
