Raquel felt her stomache knot up. She avoided his eyes as her face grew red. Time to take the plunge... She told herself, hesistating a bit. "Felt that...that you were, well...it." She said softly, but knew that made no sense. "That...you were...who I wanted to spend forever with..." Her voice was soft and almost scared. She hadn't wanted to say this in fear of Damian's reaction. She had figured very early on, that even if he did indeedlove her as much as he claimed, he wasn't one for settling down. Neither was Raquel until recently...

Damian took his thumb and pressed it to her lips to keep the stuttering words from pouring out. It slowly dragged down to her chin, where he tucked his other fingers to keep her looking at him, hopefully unafraid.
"There is a great deal I have yet to see and do before I truly settle down... I wasn't sure if you would want to be dragged along with me for any of it."
It was all spur of the moment as his mind reeled and spun with his thoughts and feelings for her. She was Raquel, and though he wanted to spend more time with her and know her completely and utterly, Damian had the inkling that she was the one as well.
"But would you?"

Raquel looked at him, her eyes watering. "I-I'd like to think so..." She whispered in reply, still slightly confused. She had no problem withwaiting. Shehad things she wanted to do before settling herself.It wasjust this thought that kept coming up over and over everytime she was with Damian.

"We have the rest of forever to figure it out."
Although he was losing feeling in his legs, Damian enjoyed seeing the look upon her face, as if he had just given her the best git or answer she could hope for. The butterflies in his stomach weren't as bad as he thought they'd be, but it wasn't really a proposal... he would make sure to have something like that be special.

Raquel exhaled the breath she didn't know she was holding. She smiled, breathless as she slipped her arms around him, hugging him tightly. She knew this wasn't the final stag yet. He wasn't ready for marriage and neither was she. It was just nice to know that he had been thinking on the same terms as she had for quite some time. "Thank you....I love you..." she whispered to him, still smiling.

"What's there to thank for? You're as much in charge of this as I am." He rubbed her back lovingly. Thank goodness Richard and Lorey were off somewhere being quiet, or their moment might be ruined.

Raquel laughed to herself, resting her head on his shoulder now. "I dont really know...according to Nat I never let anyone help me or love me... And I guess that now I've finally done that with you...I'm just so thankful..." she said this so matter of factly hugging onto him affectionately.
In the backof her mind, she felt her saying thank you, and allowing him to help her, and even her caring for his opinion on everything was tremendous growth. She had never cared what anyone thought because they never cared about her. But now Damian loved her so much, she trusted he'd always do whats best for her, and help her make the right choices...

Damian let out a small laugh. Not at her, but at the idea behind what she said.
"Now you ask me everything, about your glasses and going out... no need to worry about what I think so much. You are still Raquel and still independent."
He didn't want her to feel so connected with him that she couldn't fly away occasionally.

Raquel pulled back to look at him, a deep insecurity bubbling up within her. "But- what if you dont like something or- or dont want me to go somewhere or even want to go with me?" She asked, drawing her hands into herself as her mind wandered.
"I mean...I just want you to be happy, so I'm paranoid about making a mistake with something..." Raquel had been with countless men 'professionally' and a quality she had noticed in them all was how they liked somehting a certain way. She couldn't just leave, she had to do what they wanted. If she were hired long term she had to conform to heir willon what she wore and what she did, usuallly getting her fired since she was so independent and unwilling to mold into their ideal lover. But She actually loved Damian. She wanted to please him in every way she could. She had only had maybe one or two real relationships before and those ended terribly. She was just scared of doing something he wouldn't like, making hsi affection for her go away...

"Then I'll say something." Damian nodded to this, and that seemed to be that. It was so simple, he thought. Why did she have to make a fuss?
Was she really that terrified of losing him?
Of course she was. Look at her past, he thought, and it was all laid out. What a fool he felt to be for thinking she was just fussing over nothing.
"Or, I'll just go with you, and not complain like a child. I can be very tolerating, but after what I've had to deal with, I can't imagine what you could have to put me through that would make me cringe."

Raquel smiled, relieved slightly, kissing the side of his mouth sweetly. "Alright...and I'll try to not be so paranoid...But I can't promise it wont happenen occasionally..." She joked, touching his face.
This was one reason she felt Damian could be the one. He didn't get frustrated at her at times like this. Or even if he did, he didn't let it take over as he just simply oslved the problem. He loved her for her even with all her imperfections.

He smiled softly, kissed her sweetly, and placed a hand on her stomach before easing them both to their feet. It was time to get up and move, not laze about at the computer watching numbers fly by.
"Are you hungry? Did you have anything at your meeting?" he said, making it sound like Raquel had been off doing important business things, more out of habit than trying to make her feel more important, or heaven forbid, to belittle her.

"If half a beer counts..." She laughed, moving her bags out of the way so no one would trip on them. THough she realized that must sound as trashy as it did in her head but tried not to worry over it. "It was just a simple little catch up chat anda drink. So I'm jsut a little hungry,..." She elaborated, pushing her glasses up to the top of her head.

"Why does it seem we spend half our time eating in the kitchen?" he asked, laughing. He did want to take care of her, though, which required her eating well and regularly, as she should have been used to.
"Perhaps we could... read? I could help you if you need it. Or we could just have a bit of quiet time. Or, we could do whatever you want."
Damian preoccupied himself with getting some strong tea, preferably earl grey.

"We could read. Or do whatever....or Oh!" She jumped, remembering somehting. "I forgot to tell you!" She beamed, rushing over to her bag again, bringing it into the kitchen as she pulled out some little brouchures. "I stopped by the cafe, and that friend of mine, who wants her," reffering to her guitar unconsciously "had some information on different schools I could try to get into...since my grades weren't exactly perfect, I'd have to ace my entrance exam to even have a shot at these different places.,.." She furrowed her brow but it was purely out of determination. "Damian I think I can do this,..." She smiled at him, just letting it hit her recently that her dream of thsi could actually happen.
