Cindy peeked into the bathing room holding out the clothing that was meant for the boy.
"I found it, it should fit," she told him softly.
From what she could see of the boy he did look quite a lot better than before.

The rest of the day passed very quickly like that - finding clothes for the other children who still needed it, feeding the ones who were awake enough to eat, and making sure that each and every one of them had a warm, comfortable place to sleep.
In the end, there were extra beds, which was good (far better than not enough, at any rate), and though each and every one of the children were sleeping before the dinner hour, it felt quite a bit later.
Elrohir and Haradhel met with Donovan and the Winterses in the dining room for their dinner (a simple sandwich meal, since Haradhel hadn't had the time to make anything more).
"How much longer will you be staying?" Elrohir asked them curiously. "The night to rest and check on the children again in the morning? Or will you be going back right away?"
"Adonai said he has enough information from Cindy to take care of the children," Haradhel put in, "if you're that anxious to return home right away."

Donovan thought about it, while it was dinner he was sure by the time they were finished it might start getting dark. Not to mention the he and the others were tired. On the other hand he thought it would be late in the day back home so everyone could catch up.
Well that and Kara had school the next day and he wanted to be there to help. Even though his brain told him that one more night wouldn't affect much and his body told him to rest.
When did he listen to his body though?
"We'll go back right away," he replied finally.

Elrohir nodded. "Well, I have to admit, it's been a pleasure having all of you here," he smiled gently. "We'll see if we can't keep track of the children after we bring them home and let you know how it all goes. They'll be staying here until they're all healed, of course ... and I believe Ulani mentioned something about being able to fix the boy with no tongue."
He looked at Cindy and nodded. "As impossible as that sounds."

Cindy smiled in relief she had been worried about that seeing as the only other way she could see helping the boy (and at the time the only way) was to teach him sign language and hope whoever his parents might be catch on.
"That's a relief, otherwise I would not know what could be done," Cindy replied.

"Good," Donovan murmured, "Then everything is settled."
At least for now, it would be interesting to see what happened to those children, this is the first time he had done anything where he wanted to see the lasting implications of what he had done. Then again there was a first time for everything.

Haradhel smiled at Elrohir. "It's going to be interesting, having such a houseful of people," she murmured. "Especially when they're all children ..."
"Not all children," Elrohir protested. "I'll be here, too!"
Haradhel laughed. "Like I said, all children," she grinned innocently. She looked at the others again. "Is there anything else you would like before you leave?" she offered.

Donovan couldn't help but chuckle, it sounded like something his mother would say actually.
"No, there isn't anything else needed," he replied.
He had gold to leave to the Ranch for the usual repayment and hopefully in a few years they could invest on the horses he wouldn't end up using. Though it should pay for the next coming years. He hoped.

Elrohir smiled and rose from his seat. "Then if you're ready, I can take you back to the valley," he told them. "As far as I know, Feng and Ryu were the only ones who went back and forth every day, I don't think anyone else knows the way yet."

Donovan thought about it, he could get back fine he was sure, but better safe than sorry. Second trip back he should be fine though, he rose from his seat.
Lin who was finishing the corpse of her squished sandwiche lifted her arms up for her Daddy to hold her again.
"Yea, I think we're ready."

Elrohir nodded. "Right then," he murmured, "Haradhel, I'll be back in a few hours. The rest of you ..." He smiled and motioned to the door. "After you."
"Bring Adonai and Ulani back with you," Haradhel suggested. "Perhaps they can help the mute boy tonight yet."
Elrohir nodded. "Will do."

Triton rose from his seat, "I'll go get our things."
Quickly he left to get the bags which should be all packed, which gave Cindy, Feng and Ryu time to get themselves ready.
It did not take long for their things to be gathered and to get them out the door.

Once all of them were ready, Elrohir led them back in the direction of the valley. The trip usually took about an hour, but this time it seemed to take a bit longer - though that could simply have been because each and every one of them were exhausted, not only from the trip as in Donovan's case, but also by the bustling activity of the afternoon.
Still, they made it there eventually, and Elrohir stood back and let them find the portal on their own (to be fair, he had never seen it before, and it was quite invisible, especially to one who didn't know what to look for).
"Well," he smiled gently at all of them, "it's been good having you here ... come back any time, I'm sure the children would appreciate it." He mean that of course meaning the children that they would rescue in the future.

Donovan nodded, "I will," he told Elrohir firmly.
After all, now he knew what he was getting into, so of course he would be back, and with that he began to usher the others into the portal.
"Bye bye!" Lin waved happily, "I'll come again too!"
And with that the group went for the portal, and back to their home once more.
