"Yay!" Lin looked over at it.

It certainly looked more like a staff than a chopstick that was for certain, which was just fine with her.

"That looks just right, the right size and it's a staff too."

There was one thing that Elnara really liked about Elves in general, and that was the fact that almost all of them could communicate with each other by thought - as long as they were touching. Of course, there were those few - like Nadya, Ulrich, and a very few others - who could communicate by thought without having to touch, but that was rare indeed.

She wondered if it worked with Elves who weren't from her world, however. After all, there were differences between her people and Lore's, though there were also many similarities.

Hold tight, she tried thinking to him, wondering if it would work. If you can hear this, I'm going to go a bit faster, hold tight so that you don't fall off.

If, of course, he didn't tighten his grip, she would assume that he couldn't hear her, and she wouldn't speed up ... but she was anxious to get there, and hoped that it would work.

"Okay!" Lin allowed herself onto the table as she took the staff.

She looked up at it and down at it, she weighed it in her hands and compared her height with it. Lin couldn't help but giggle and look up at Haradhel with glee.

Elnara smiled inwardly, both surprised and pleased that it had worked.

Well, this makes the trip a bit better, she thought to him with a laugh. At least now we can still talk! I have to admit though, I had no idea if it would work ... since of course we are of different kinds of elves ...

She blinked her large bird's eyes and tucked her legs tightly against her stomach.

I'm just anxious to get there, she explained to him. It's been a very long time since I've seen Gion OR Nadya, and they both knew what I was before anyone else, and accepted me for what I was ... the only ones who did, in this world.

She paused, then added, Besides, it's a long trip and I do need to rest once we get there.

"I was seeing how it felt and how tall I was on it," Lin replied back with an innocent smile, "Most things are bigger than me, and it feels different from a chopstick."

Since she had speared a few things with a chop stick in her time, namely food that was on her plate and she didn't want to have any help with it what so ever.

I think I would be fine if I were used to doing this, Elnara replied, focusing on the green speck that had grown bigger in the few minutes that they had been flying. It's just, even in Gaia, where it's acceptable to be like this, I still don't change shape unless there's a need.

She smiled inwardly.

And yes, you can rest assured that once we arrive, I will be resting, she told Lore. I'm not so foolhardy as I once was.

"It's what you use to eat with.. .though there are decorative chopsticks for hair, I don't know who's idea that was, "Lin shrugged.

Yes, she was quite excited, what a nice way to start off the day, even though she had been up for quite a while already.

Well I'm not going to sleep or anything, Elnara laughed, I'll be too excited! But I will at least be resting my arms, which is the biggest thing ... and I'll sleep well tonight, I'm quite certain. On the other hand, I'm going to have to ask you to carry the bags for me, I don't know if I would be able to handle them after we get there.

Not after a flight like this, anyways. Taking Lore from one end of the city to another was one thing; taking him across an entire desert was another.

We're nearly there, she added. Look.

The green was now quite visible, as well as many building, fences, lanes, and rows and rows of plants. It sprawled out almost like a small village from the sky, and Elnara felt her heart racing as she anticipated seeing her old home once more, as well as her (formerly) younger brother and her best friend, who might at this point even be her sister-in-law.
