Hycine stood, taking one last look at the forlorn kitten, then hurried into the warmth. She swung open the door and a burst of smell hit her, causing her to inhale deeply. Hycine took in her surroundings, examining every bump and crack in the surface of the walls, scrutinizing the place. Looking to her left, she saw the boy from before, resting his head on the table. Shuffling over to him, she bent down and watched him carefully as he slept.

Dib woke up to find the new staring at him. He wiped his eyes and yawned. "Do you want some chicken? It taste really good!" He stood up and petted Snowball who was sleeping on a bone.

Saio walked back in to the place grabbed a paice of chicken and eat it quickly throwing the bone on the floor he sat in a corner and staredat the ceiling, his mind elsewhere. so i make the call tonight saying i can't take them all, they come in and do my job and i can forget this whole thing. Man i've dug myself into some hole now he noticed the girl from before walked in he just gave a silent wave and went back to his thoughts

"Saio, hey! What do ya think of ma homeade chicken, haha?" Dib said walking up to him with a smile. Dib noticed that the kind and gentle face of Saio was gone and a troubled one had replaced it. "Saio are you ok? My chicken isn't that bad, is it?"

Hycine paused, biting her lip, then nodded fervently. "Thank you." She said, gratefully eating the chicken.

"So you'd know me better, my name is Dib. I live by myself in this place and this is my cat Snowball." Dib scratched Snoball on the belly. "How bout you?"

Hin walked into the house. "Hi Monty," said the ghost kitten. "Still mimicking a cat? Now you are named Snowball?" he asked. He started rolling over. "Meow," he said.

"My name is Hycine." She wiped food from the corner of he mouth and said, "My brother, Faeren." Hycine paused, inhaled deeply and started again. "He works for the military." She laughed shakily. "I can't tell you how many times he's tried to take me away to-well, you know." Hycine shrugged, frowning smally.

He woke up and hiccuped slightly and a fireball came out of his mouth.

"Oh, I know exactly what you mean." Dib said having a flashback of when the military captured him.
He looked over to Snowball and saw Hin.
'Not him again. Why can't he get over the fact that Snowball is a cat not a shapeshifter. Dib put his hand over his face and shook his head.' Dib thought as he saw Hin enter the room

"I have a little secret of my own." Dib said shyly, "Everyone here knows it so you might as well. I'm a shapeshifter. The military took me away not too long ago and experimented on me. I was lucky enough to escape with division 145." He hoped Hycine wouldn't think he was crazy.

Hycine's head snapped up, her mouth agape. "Glad you got out safely." She whispered. "So," Hycine paused. "So what can you shapeshift into?"
