Riane looked back at Aubry. This is going to be a pain in the butt. How does she expect me to use elf magic? I'm a human! Plus I've never killed anything bigger than a deer and she expects me to kill a demon! These thoughts ran through Riane's brain as if in the middle of a marathon, but she had to help Xantos. She nodded her head solemnly.

i dont use majic. Xantos said calmly. i cant. its immpossible for me too. but, i would like to train with the both of you. id have a place where id belong.

"I'm sure if you really wanted to, you could learn how to do magic," Riane said, turning back to Xantos. "But we all need to train, I guess. When do we start?" Riane had a look of worry on her face. She wasn't sure she could do it. She had very low self esteem. A tear escaped her eye as she thought of how many different ways she could let her new friends down and end up friendless again or worse!

Kokoro suddenly began to open her eyes, hearing birds chirping and the sun beaming down on her face. She sat up quickly.
She had fallen asleep on the roof! She looked up at the large clock tower which stood in the middle of the school grounds. She was also late!
Kokoro jumped up, spreading her wings and rushing off into the air. She flew quickly into the front of the school, heading to her first class.
