Ilusia stiffened suddenly, snapping her head towards Nigellus. "Sir... I think it would be best if we leave now."
"Oh?" The elder asked, raising his eyebrows with interest as his wiser side was lost to his senility, "Is it time for tea? I know how those humans sometimes love that part of the day---"
"No, sir. I just felt someone... It's not a good one."
"Ah, yes, of course. Quite handy, you are... You lead the way then? I always get lost in this building..." he mumbled as he stood up and hobbled towards the exit. Ilusia watched over him carefully to make sure everything was taken care of. A shiver coursed through her body. Yes, the mood has definitely taken a turn for the worse around here... she thought as she began to lead Nigellus to a more secure area. As she walked, she pulled the black trim of her shirt to her mouth, speaking into a tiny quarter-shaped speaker imbedded into the fabric.
"All Flighters and Lavans, please report to Terces immediately."

Meanwhile, a confused and slightly dampened teenager sat in an empty gray room, wondering what the hell he had done to get himself in the predicament he was in. One minute he had been swimming in the ocean... the next, he was waking up on the floor of an ominously empty room. Perhaps he had died of drowning? That would certainly explain the lack of memory... Was this where the kids who had drowned themselves on their first day at the ocean go? He closed his eyes and leaned forward, rubbing his face in irritation. What was he supposed to do now that he had drowned?
His head snapped up as a white-haired woman peered in. "Get up and follow us, Mr. Deplech."
He squinted his eyes slightly, but didn't ask questions as he stood up and walked towards the door. Anywhere was better than here.
"Am I dead?" he asked as he walked out of the room.
The woman simply rolled her eyes, obviously dealing with a teenage boy was putting her on edge. "Please remain quiet, Mr. Deplech, and try to keep up. I'll answer your questions in a few moments."

Mira smiled compliantly. "Of course. My father can be a bit of a brute too. Flighter training and all..." she said, glad that they had stumbled on the subject of parentage so quickly. She watched as Kiandra created a disc with the water in her bag and tensed up immediately. What did she do that for? It wasn't as if her parents were dangerous... were they?

Justinius stood finally on the top floor. If the old man was anywhere in the building, he was there, on that floor, and there was no way out for him. Well, in the physical sense, at least, there was no escape.
Quite unfortunately for the would-be assassin, the Flighters and Lavans were well-organized and trained, and a sizeable force could appear anywhere in moments. It probably would've been better to wait, he thought, listening to the dull roar of the armed forces as they began to come further and further up the building. Or, hell, I could've actually brought a few people. Could've been faster. Could've just left some of those guards alone, instead of drawing on their faces after they passed out.
He snapped out of his thoughts when his head snapped back from the force of a Flighter's punch. They were a lot faster than he gave them credit for; in the future, he was going to have to work on paying attention to important things like that, if only to save himself teeth.
In response to the Flighter's rather rude greeting, Justinius drew a sabre and slashed at the man's midsection, felling him in a spray of blood. Two more Flighters appeared at the staircase that Justinius had so recently ascended; and so he drew a second sabre, slashed in a wide arc with both swords, and sent the two men tumbling backwards and onto their comrades.
There weren't any windows in the hallway, but he'd spied some on the top floor when he'd been down in the streets; he was thankful he could warp gravity, because he didn't think he could make any of those "heroic" leaps that the human television shows seemed to enjoy so much. And so he tried the door he was closest to, found it unlocked, and bolted into... a windowless bathroom. Damnit.
"He's in the bathroom! I just saw him go in!"
A rather long string of curses streamed out of Justinius's mouth when he heard the Flighters run in front of the door. It began to shake as they pounded against it, trying to bring it down.
Fortunately enough, most architecture in the world is designed to only withstand one g, which is equivalent to an acceleration of negative nine-point-meters per second squared; the fact that they can withstand more than that is really only a side-effect of the materials used. A sufficient force will eventually force anything to break, hardwood floors included.
Mere seconds later, the Flighters broke the door down to discover a rough hole in the bathroom's floor, a jet of water streaming upwards from a broken pipe. One of them approached it cautiosuly, looking down to find a drenched intern clutching a stack of folders.
"He fell down and then went through that window over there, in Rhonda's office," she said, pointing a soggy hand to her right.
Justinius ran/staggered his way away from the capital building, taking refuge in an alleyway a few blocks from it before tearing the mask off and vomiting. Ugh, can't whip myself around like that again... feel like I've just gone through a centrifuge...

After glancing around the room Kiandra realized that her mother must have gone to the HRF. The power outage might have messed with her precious experiments. Rolling her eyes Kiandra said apologetically,"Sorry Mira, With everything that's happened these past few hours i have to be alert. Don't worry, My Mother has probably gone back to work. Come!" She led her friend inside and had to wrinkle her nose at the green emergency lights. They cast an eerie glow on all they touched.
A few seconds later Kiandra pushed open the door of her room and stopped in surprise. Her entire room was in disarray. Her bed had been flipped, the dresser knocked over papers and books were everywhere. Pale she turned to Mira and said, "The Flighters must have come looking for me concerning Pa..the human. Did they come to your home too? is that why you were in the tunnel?"

Bane walked slowly his feet scuffing across the grass, blood trailing down his left arm. He had spotted several buildings ahead, and smirked, rubbing the at the wound in his shoulder. He had to be more careful with his explosions, but now wasn't really the time to think about it. The nearest of the buildings, seemed like a good spot to make a stop in.
Glancing around, he shadow stepped into one of the rooms, landing on all fours on the floor. Pushing himself up with a wince, his eyes shot wide, as he realized he had landed right in front of two girls. A nervous smile shot across his face, as he began to inch backwards.

Nova sat in a large apple tree, in the topmost branch, using her concealment to hide from the flighters that were looking for her. she was what they would call a 'special' flighter, being as young as she was with her powers. She watched as a young man, not much older than herself, threw open a door and was struggling to get out. I wonder what he's running from, she thought as she watched, transfixed on the strange man. WOW, he can almost do what I can, she thought absent mindedly as he was dragged back into the tunnel a bit before he apeared stepping out of a small black portal with a hand still around his ankle, without the arm. Ouch, she thought as she heard the peircing scream of the person who just lost a hand. He bent down and removed the hand, before running again. She dropped her book accidently, breaking her powers hold on it as it dropped with a soft thunk to the ground.
She continued to watch as the flighters caught up to him. He somehow excaped the flighters grasp, though she barely noticed that part as she felt the tug on her mind that meant John, the head flighter, was calling her. She fought to stay in the tree until she watched the strange man dissapear into a another small portal. I guess I should go now, she thought as the tugging got impatient. She dissapeared, leaving her book, Twilight, open on the ground.

So yes, Kiandra and Mira)) ((np! btw! in another RP i do my character is all about Shadows. so...just felt like telling you smile )) Kiandra heard a strange wooshing noise and whirled around. Feeling her mouth drop she saw a boy about her and Mira's age come out of a shadow! Her eyes quickly took in his wounds and without a second thought raised the hand with the water disk. " Who are you?! What are you doing in my home?!"

Bane continued backing away, his eyes mere slits, as he stared at the disk of water. Quietly he said," Now, now... No need to do anything.... Sssstupid..."
He bumped into the wall, his right hand holding his left arm at the elbow, as he tried to inch towards the door, his eyes not moving from the two girls. He thought he recognized the one from earlier, but there was no way to tell, until she did something.
((Lol... Shadow Stepping is an idea I took from a game I play! Hehe....))

Paul hadn't waited in his home for Kiandra to return. He'd followed her from a distance, carefully keeping to the shadows and using every bit of survival training he'd ever had.
It was thus that he was crouched just outside her door, listening to her yelling something in a voice that sounded like shock and a bit of panic. The handgun whipped up into his hand. He didn't want to see her hurt... not after he'd done it already.

Nova appeared lounging in a chair in the capital building. She sat in the office of John Caote, the head of flighters. He gives out the missions and helps with training for the flighters. She lounged sideways, her feet on one arm rest with her head on the other, when he walked in. He was a very tall man of about 49 with salt and pepper hair and a hard expression. "You rang." She drawled out the words, sounding bored. "Yes, I did. Now first, sit up straight!" His voice rose until he was shouting at the end. She sat up quikly, not wishing to anger him more. "Thankyou. Now, you must know why I called you here." He said looking sinister in the green glow of the emergency lights. "Is it because of the boy?" She asked, confused at why he was acting so serious. "No, a human landed here about an hour ago, but he avaded all the other flighters. We need you to find him, and the two girls he was with. We believe their names are Mira and Kiandra." "No problem." She said with a smile before teleporting out of his office with a small pop that showed she was excited. Yes, finally I get a real assignment, she thought as she bent down to pick up her book and look for the young boy she had seen. I wonder what he was running from?, she thought as she walked to were he had last disapeared and felt a tunnel. Oh, so thats where he went, she thought as she teleported down into the tunnel, appearing behind two young girls about her own age. She wasn't surprised to see the boy, though the girls caught her off guard.

Mira froze as everything seemed to break loose around them. Her eyes sparkled dangerously, the only giveaway to the power surge caused by the surprise within her. Oh great... What did they want with her now?
Her eyes flitted to the boy first, recognizing him immediately. He was the guy who had killed that Flighter. Had he come to take care of her, the only witness to his murder? She immediately felt a sinking feeling of guilt towards Kiandra. If that were the case, she had just unwittingly dragged someone else, an innocent, into her predicament.
The woman, however, she didn't recognize. She didn't seem to be a part of any of this. Still, they had arrived without warning, which wasn't really Mira's idea of good intentions. She remained silent, clenching her fists so no excess lightning would escape them.

Unfathomable noises were not Paul's idea of good informants. He needed to see what was going on. Whirling up, he planted his boot against the door, kicking it off the hinges, marching in with the Beretta lowered but ready for use. Before him shortly was a boy he didn't recognize. Beyond him were Kiandra and the other girl, and behind them was yet another woman. The only two Paul knew he could trust were either surrounded or victims of circumstance. Which one it was Paul wasn't sure, but it didn't matter that much to him.
He wasn't going to go about shooting people again, however. That didn't mean he wasn't going to be prepared to do so; he just would be a little more careful with his trigger finger. He whipped the pistol up into position, aiming it at the boy's head.
"Kiandra! What's going on here?!" he shouted, half speaking to her, half informing the boy that now he had a threat from behind.

Bane flinched in surprise, shadow stepping from where he was. Unfortunately he came out in the same spot, upside down.
"Owww....", He groaned, pushing himself up off his back, blood now covering the side of his face, as well as the entire left half of his body. There were far too many people here, and he could tell that none of them liked him. Grunting, he swirled his right hand infront of him, sparks trailing from his fingertips, shrouding his face in flickering crimson light.
Quietly he said,"Stay back... Or none of you will make it out of here in less than two pieces..."

Nova stood quietly until all hell broke loose. A man, a human, she realized when she saw he was holding a gun, burst through the door and held his gun up to Bane's head. Bane tried to shadow step away, but ended up stepping out of the ceiling, upsie down. She laughed quietly as he landed on the ground with a soft thunk. What he did next surprised her. He stood up, flames licking at his fingertips. I didn't see that one coming, Nova thought as he said something she didn't catch. She looked at everyone in turn and felt the tension pooring off of them and into the small stretch of hallway. "Ok, now I'm confused. Can someone please explain what in the hell just happened?!?!?" She ended shouting, exasperated at how much could happen in such a short period of time.
