No, Kaisers right. He built the time machine, tried to stop his wife dying, couldn't, tried to return to his time, something went wrong, and he ended up in the future. Thats when the whole two-races-fight thing started.

He made the machine to prove some kind of point, and only went into the future as far as I know. Which movie? There were two.

Either. The latest with Guy Pearce is a remake of the old one. They have the same plot.

Ummm...well, personally, I'd like an episode or two, or more if needed, about the characters background. I suppose, since it'd have to be an episode, it'd have to be Atlantis. I'd like to know more about Sheppard - why does he have no family? Why is Rodney so...ah...arrogant, to say the least? What was Sateda like, and so on.
Minor spoiler: Theres going to be an episode about Sheppard's family in season four, so I guess I have that particular wish.
