"Err..." Yuki looked at Skye and then up at Tristan and then back down at Skye. He didn't often deal with kids, he let Rune do that, after all kids were.. .well he didn't really know what kids wanted, "Help?" he asked her.
Lore shook his head leading her back down, "It's fine, I'm told I work too much anyways."
Which was true, he still had, up until he had met Elnara spend far too much time in the office even after his assistants forced him outside to get some... R and R time as they called it.

"Wimp," Tristan muttered as she bent down without having to bend her knees to pick up Skye.
She held the tiny angel close like she would a babe, since the little girl seemed so close to that size, yet it was clear this was no baby. Babies weren't this intelligent.

Skye was pleased, though a little confused as to why this one had picked her up, and not the other. Ah well, it didn't matter. She tried the name game again.
"Skye," she said, patting herself on the head. Then she pointed over at Yuki and said, " 'Ki." Then she pointed up at Tristan and said, "You?"
She quickly moved one hand to the funny person's throat and stared intently at his mouth, ready to get the reply. "As long as you're sure," Elnara smiled, following him closely and still clutching the book close. "I just hope Skye hasn't wandered off again ... although Celebor did promise to watch her closely. And I know for a fact that Serenity won't have left his side ..." Serenity was far too shy to be pried away from Celebor's side with a crowbar.

"Strange kid," Yuki murmured.
"Skye has no fear," Lore chuckled, "And while it makes her very curious, I do worry a bit, but don't worry. Most of the partons here are students, parents, or old folk, if she managed to slip by Rune, she should be fine."
Now that he thought about it, Skye was really a lot smaller than what Rune was use to looking after.

Tristan raised a brow, did the child not hear her? She was suddenly curious, "Tris-tan," she pronounce slowly giving emphasis where it was needed.
There was something... different around this child.

Skye made the movements with her lips, carefully and slowly, then at the same speed Tristan had used.
"Chis ... tin," she murmured; then louder, "Chistin!"
She fluttered her wings proudly. Elnara nodded, knowing that if Lore felt no need to worry, then she needn't worry either. "But in other places, I do fear for her," she admitted freely as they reached the bottom of the stairs. "I mean, if we're out shopping or something, I can't let go of her ... it's not that someone would take her, though I did worry about that at one time; it's that she would simply wander off and I wouldn't be able to find her again. And calling of course does not good." She shrugged.

"You know...." Yuki murmured after wtaching Skye stumble through Tristan's name, "I think she's kind of hard of hearing."
Though he wasn't sure what tipped him off first, probably the way she was trying to pronounce Tris's name.
Lore nodded at that, he understood there was always that kind of fear, "Maybe you need to put a rope around her waist and then attach it to yourself," he suggested.
He had seen parents do simliar things like that to children bigger than Skye.

Tristan gave Yuki a look even though she knew he was probably right, before turning back to Skye, "Tri-s-tan," she tried again.
Not that it was bad, but she would rather not be called Chris.

Skye nodded, she had known that something didn't feel right. From between Tristan's teeth, she saw a tongue movement that she had missed the first time.
"Trrrrrrrrrris ... tin!" she tried. No, something about that was wrong, too. "Tris ... ten ... tin ..."
She shook her head and held Tristan's jaw in her fingers. "Show 'gain," she instructed. Elnara giggled a bit at that suggestion. "That would be funny ... but hopefully effective," she laughed. "I'll have to think about that. Though lately I've been leaving the children at home and just going shopping by myself ... it's easier, and they don't care. They're just as excited about seeing what I've bought as they would be if they went, they like surprises."

"Tri-s-tan," Tris prounounce crisply and slowly.
It felt weird continously pronoucing her name like that.

Lore laughed at that, "You are probably not the first parent who has deicded that, leaving the children at home might be better while shopping," he told her, "Still it's a thought, not just shopping but for any place you might want to take them to."

Skye tried it a few times quietly, then nodded and said, "Tristan." She blinked up at Tristan, looking into his eyes and asked, "Tristan, right?" "I can't think of anywhere else I go that I would need to do something like that," Elnara mused. "I mean, this is the first place we've gone, besides home, school and the cafe." She paused. "Wow ... I think I need to get out more." She laughed.

The young lady nodded her head, "That's right," she replied, "Tristan," she gave Skye a wide smile, "You are very bright."
She meant it after all, Yuki was probably right the girl had to be hard of hearing or at least semi deaf. It didn't occur to her that Skye was fully deaf.

Lore laughed softly at that, "Sounds like something my assistants would say to me," he murmured thoughtfully.
They were right though, this was the first time in a long time he thought they were right, and he wanted to be somewhere. No... that wasn't right he wanted to go to places to show Elnara, show her the kind of things that where out there.

"What Tristan a' 'Ki was doing?" Skye asked curiously, raising one arm above her head to show them what she was talking about. "Skye fall." Elnara looked at Lore sidewise, her expression questioning. "You come to the cafe often enough," she pointed out - inwardly thinking not quite often enough. "Why do your assistants say that?" She paused momentarily at the door to the children's room and looked to Lore for his answer.
