Matthias nodded, smirking. "I would love to join you. But one question first: Do you play the good cop, bad cop routine, or just go all-out? More bluntly put, though, is physical force allowed? I doubt much could be done as a psychological scare; death isn't really something they need to fear these days, especially with their average life spans..." He sighed. "You would think if they were trying to end a war, they'd make the playing field a little more even..." Matthias folded his arms over his chest and turned away, suddenly sinking into deep thought.

Bastards... Why couldn't they see the folly amidst their plans? Did they want us all dead, erased from history like some Amazonian insect? He gave another silent sigh, then faced Dara once more. "Well, I'm ready when you are."

Dara shrugged. Then looked away slightly. "I've uh... never actually been the one to interogate someone before," she said softly as if she didn't want to admit it. "I mean I've asked questions of rebel wolves before, but I've never actually had to try and get info from someone not of the pack. I guess I figured I'd just go in and give him a chance to answer before turning to other methods. I don't know if the good cop, bad cop thing will work with a vampire, though."
She shrugged again and walked to the door. "Whatever you prefer, I guess." She walked through the door and waited for him to follow.

Matthias nodded considerately. "Well then, you won't mind if I 'lead' the investigations, will you? I have a feeling I know just how to make this little boy squirm in his seat. I just need a little free reign." The werewolf was actually becoming quite interested in the idea of leading an interrogation. He'd get to stretch his muscles a bit, and work off a little stress. So long as he didn't get overworked about anything, and kept a calm and collected demeanor, it should be smooth as silk.

Dara nodded. He was probably far more capable than she to question the vampire. She was only good in battle and was still wet behind the ears there as well. She felt way too young to be lead again, though she tried her best she always felt that her experiences weren't enough to lead the pack fully. Still she would fight for her pack till it took everything from her, if thats what was asked of her. Her pasion for her pack was unwavering.
Bringing her mind back to the matter at hand, Dara said, "Yes, you may by all means, lead the investigation." She thought that over for a moment before adding quickly, "I reserve the right to step in at anytime, though."
With that said, Dara began to lead the way back through the Nest to go to the holding cell where the vampire was.

He nodded gratefully. "Thank you very much, and I perfectly understand your... concerns, for lack of a better term. I'll do my best not to be too rowdy with the worm. Wouldn't want to squish it before we get some silk out of the deal." Weak, Matthias... Stop trying to sound fancy. He was mentally berating himself again for attempting another foolish little metaphor, and an extremely poor one at that. Then again, why did it matter? He shrugged to himself and continued to follow Dara through the Nest to meet their prey.

Dara nodded at him and continued on. She was eager to find out what was going on with the vampire and wanted to hear it.
It was as she walked though that she heard someone running up. Turning she found Josh, her young cousin, running up to her.
"Dara," he breathed. Distress showing on his face. "You forgot, didn't you?!?"
Dara looked at her cousin for a second before her eyes widened in realization. "I completely forgot, Josh. I'm sorry."
Turning back to Matthias she said. "Could you either continue on the investigation yourself or have someone else question the vampire. I must attend to other buiesiness at this time. I will meet you outside here tomarrow, as I have specified."
Without waiting for a reply, she took her cousin's hand in hers and ran off in the oposite direction down the hall. Her cousin stumbled slightly, unable to keep up with his older family member.

Dara sighed as she stepped outside of the nest. She had a small pack over her shoulder of very few clothes. She wore a black pair of pants and a red shirt, allowing for more movement than her usual clothing. Her black and white tipped hair was allowed to fall to her sides as it blew back slightly as the breeze tugged on it. Holstered to her back was a slender sword that was her back up should they run across any trouble, along with two daggers tucked into her boots. She was the first one in front of the nest and waited patiently as she watched a cloud move across the sky. The small pack she had with her sagging slightly as it was tied around her upper body. Within it was a small asortment of peice offerings along with some objects she felt would be usefull along the road, including medicine that her Aunt had given her.
There was crunching on the road anouncing the approach of someone. Turning she found Cane walking towards the Nest with a scowl on his face as he looked to her. He wore his usual assortment of clothing and seemed to have his own pack in his hand.

"Dara," he greated her. "Are you the only one here so far?"

Dara gave a brief nodd, wondering why he was being so friendly at the moment.

"Guess we wait then?"

"Yes," she said.

Cane smiled. "You know there are things we could do as we wait. Like there is this room in the-"

Someone cleared his throat behind Cane who turned to see Lion standing behind him. "I would not make such open advances upon our Alpha, Cane. She's liable to tear your throat out."
Lion laughed as he stood there, standing tall. He was by far one of the taller wolves, meaning he towered over Dara and Cane both, though Dara was sure Cane felt more intimidated than she ever would by the wolf.

"Hello, Lion," she said with a smile and gave him a breif hug in greating. Lion gave her a smile that was true to his nature. He had been the one to mentor Dara more than anyone in leading the pack, and she had often looked up to him as more of a father.

"Doing well, Alpha?" he asked, respectfully as Dara stood back.

"Yes, very," she replied.

She turned back to find Cane glaring at her with a very miffed glare. Shrugging at him she sat down beside the Nest, awaiting their fourth member of the party.

Selyna

PostPosted: Wed Jun 06, 2007 5:39 am

The day had seemed like a blur to Selyna, she didn't know what to make of the recent events. She'd been preparing all her life to find a werewolf, question it, do her best to injure it, and then die as a result, because you just don't live after doing something like that. So when she not only met a werewolf, but one of the ones that was there when her family was slaughtered, her brain overloaded. Not sure if she'd been awake or asleep for most of the day, she tried to let things sink in, rethinking a plan that had been in the making for several years now.

((Not sure how to respond to Meilin Nokomis, so I'm just leaving Selyna open to interact with or not.))

((I think you got two words switched... Libel is slander, in written form. Liable, I believe, is the word you were after... And excuse my correction, but I have something akin to OCD when it comes to spelling and the like.))

Matthias sighed as he neared the trio. He had a leather backpack slung over one shoulder, a few items packed away for the (hopefully) short trip. He approached from the direction opposite Lion. He stopped, standing near Dara. "Are we all ready to go? If so, I would like to get this caravan moving." Try as he might, Matthias did a poor job of concealing his agitated state from the rest of the group. His voice was quiet, and it sounded as if he resented the mere idea of speaking, which, at the moment, was entirely true. He hadn't slept a wink the previous night, and now he was very cranky.

((lol. Thanks for the correction, I'll switch it around in a second. I often make a ton of little mistakes when writing in rps because I'm usually typing pretty fast and don't always take the time I need to reread what I have written.))

Dara stood up as she saw Matthias approach.
She shrugged at his words, hearing the agitation in them. She didn't like people rushing her in anything but right now she was a little anxious and not at all tired. It had been ages since she had left the pack and even then it was under heavy gaurd, so right now she was excited to be out from under the eyes of her pack. If she was truly honest with herself, she had to admit the true reason she wanted to be the one to go on this trip wasn't to show respect of one leader to another when trying to gain help from the new pack, but to actually have the chance to be free of the confines of her pack.
"C'mon," she said, turning to the other two, "Let's go."
She began to stalk towards the edge of the city.

"Hey, Matthias," Lion said, following behind Dara, "don't look so uptight. The alpha's in a rare good mood and we've got Cane here to pick on. It's looking to be one of those rare good days I here people talk about."

Cane took up the rear, looking pissed as usual as he walked in step with them.

"Ya, Matthias," Dara said, walking backwards for a second to look at them. A smile played at her lips as she went. "What's wrong? Oh ya, I left you to see the vampire, didn't I? How did that go?"
PostPosted: Wed Jun 06, 2007 10:39 pm

He sighed again, grateful that they were moving. A little action would be more than helpful, he was sure, to get him out of the slump that lack of sleep had brought upon him. "Sorry... Just not in a very... bullying mood. However, I don't think I'd mind watching a little conflict or two, so please, entertain yourself. I'm sure you'll find yourself entertaining me quite by coincidence." He rubbed at his eyes, and glanced around quickly, noticing the many different people that were going about their day as usual. Most, if not all, noticed them, and waved, smiled, or both. Occasionally, Matthias worked up the energy to wave back, but usually he didn't bother. It wasn't as if these people recognized him, or knew his name. He was something of a social hermit among the clan, and by way of default, very few knew his name or could match his name with his face.

"It was... rather bland, actually," he replied. "He broke easy, but he didn't really know anything useful... So it was a waste of time, all things considered. A very big disappointment, considering all the stops we pulled to squeeze information out of him."

Dara frowned. She had really hoped to get something out of the vamp, but she supposed he was probably nothing more than a footsoldier with no real clue of what the head plans were.
"Oh well," she said with a small shrug. "At least as a result of the battle we now know of the existence of another group of wolves."
She smiled as they reached the edge of the city.

"What has put you in such a good mood today, Alpha?" Lion asked of her as he followed.

"Do you realize, Lion, that I haven't left our territory in over ten years, and then it was under heavy gaurd," she replied, as she entered the wood at the edge of the city, trying to stay clear of the main rhodes as to avoid suspicion from any humans. "This will be my first time away from the pack."

"Maybe that good mood will spread a little further?" Cane asked from behind, hopeful as ever.

"You've got a lot of things to make up for before you can start with that, Cane," Dara said, then noticing his sour expression she laughed.

Lion smiled, brightened by the alpha's mood as he was reminded as to how young she was yet again. It was infectious the way she was acting.

"So, Matthias, I saw you and Dara playing during the full moon," Lion said. "I haven't seen her that happy since she was but a young pup, running around and tugging on everyone's tails. Come to think of it, I don't think I've seen you so close to the rest of the pack. What happened?"
PostPosted: Wed Jun 06, 2007 11:22 pm

Matthias was content to return to silence, and nodded. He was becoming quite comfortable being left out of the conversation, and merely spectating as was his style in general. It was going well for him, until Lion brought up the last full moon. He sighed silently and nodded. "In all honesty, I couldn't tell you, Lion. I was invited to join, and I saw no reason to decline... So that's about the extent of my reasoning." He shrugged, his gaze off in the distance. He was telling the truth, of course. He didn't know why he had joined the group, and yet he had.

Lion nodded. "You should join in once in a while. I know Dara seems to respect you, or she wouldn't have allowed you into our meeting yesterday. She doesn't typically bend on the rules, as she tries to rule from the model in her mind of how her father had ruled. For her to bend the rules for you means you really must have gained her trust. I don't know what happened yestuday but it isn't typical for her to trust anyone."

"Hey, what're you talking back there all serious like, Lion?" Dara asked as she noticed them speaking. "I'm feeling lonely up here."

"I can help with that," Cane said, brightening and running to join her. He to draped an arm around her shoulder and whispered something into her ear.

Dara's face reddened before she shoved him away. "I'm quite content in being alone, thank you very much," she said, her voice slightly shaky as she continued on, her mood seeming somewhat dampened.

Cane dropped back again with a small smirk on his face.
