My teacher switched my reeds from a 4 1/2 Mitchell Lorie (yeah, probably butchered it) to a 3 Gonzalez and I love it The tone is better And 4 1/2 helped me reach the high notes better for some reason My dad would probably love if I made my own reeds

Shorty-Nymph I play clarinet too, and use a size 3 reed. I changed reeds recently and now it sounds really airy...and I don't like it sad awesome! i play the clarinet to mrgreen im on my second year of playing though sweatdrop im playing on a vandoren 3 1/2 i heard that if it is really airy, then its harder to play on because the thicker the reed the harder it is to blow.

It's ok now. I can now play on a size 3 reed and my tone is much better than what it used to be.

I play oboe. I get my reeds from my tutor and I'm learning to make them on my own.

I play the oboe. I don't know how to make reeds I am only in junior high But I want to learn how to so I don't have to buy reeds from my private lesson teacher.
