From a discussion in the Crew Lounge: Tolly Joxcab I will do it... When I get a chance... ALSO I SAW THEY ADMITTED THEY BUTCHERED EUREKA SEVEN ON ADULT SWIM.... I SAW ONE OF THERE COMMERCIALS oh, that reminds me. MOnday after the airing of episode 50 they ran a spot saying that Adultswim had won. They declared themselves the winners in the mecha wars and that all anime fans had 24 hours to sign the surrender treaty. They went on to say that there side had mecha's all piloted by "14 year old girls" and that failure to comply to the treaty would result in utter annihilation. I actually threw an empty coke can at the TV.

I caught a cold last time I was in NJ and barely escaped with my life!! eek
But anyway, on to bigger (and more horrifying) news!!
IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION!
That what the Adult Swim monkeys actually tryed to pull might have been more of a publicity stunt than a real insult!!
My friend brought this theory onto me one afternoon...and it may be those New Jersian asses over at Williams Street might be smarter than we think!
Heres how the theory goes: AS may have deliberately cut the ending and beginning of Eureka Seven ep 50 so it made no sence. Therefore, in a risky move, they outrage their anime fanbase (over 78% of their total fanbase) so that they will post on the forums more. Then AS pretends to cave and reshow the uncut version the next week. This way, they get their viewers watching the block and posting in the forums even more than planned!
Crafty little bastards arent they....that is....if the theory's true...otherwise....they're just the monkies we've always thought them to be...

Honestly, I don't really see what good it does them if they have more people posting on their forums, and really, some people might not have even known it was cut. If you watched the whole thing through without knowing any kanji to read the "1 year later" bit, you'd probably think that was the end or something, and it seems to me like the majority of the people watching wouldn't have seen the original version.
