A knowing smiling crossed Cole's lips as he turned his gaze to Saki. Her statement had been ambiguous but Cole decided not to read her thoughts to determine what she truly meant. Instead, he just smiled.
"How right you are... one's pain seems to be lessened when you have another to share it with... unfortuneatly, I've been alone for most of my long life..."

Cole Ethren As Dyanel stood there waiting for Cole and Saki to finish with their coversation, an S.Cole appeared behind Dyanel and tapped her on her shoulder... "Is something on your mind Dyanel? You wanted to speak to me?"Saki_Akatsu Saki smiled at him brightly. "But you are not alone now," she teased. "And thats what counts."
"How right you are Saki, which leads me to what I've been wanting to tell you Ethren," she stated casually with a smile. "Marius and I disappeared and traveled for a while and you wouldn't believed what happened! Well... you kind of could but anyway! I'm married! Marius and I married in... I think it was... darn I can't remember what realm. Grr it was one of the good ones. I know it wasn't Anicia... they're too... I don't know how to put it, but anyway, I didn't want to tell this one back here" she pointed to shadow cold. "I wanted to tell you myself, but now I'm going to get some donuts and find Cheebs, good day!" she finished with a salute and disappeared.

That is what this whole place is about, accepting others for who they are, not for any misguided sense of what is normal..."

Cole tilted his head to the side slightly and looked genuinly confused for a moment...
"I was speaking in riddles... really? I thought I stopped that a long time ago..."
Striking a thinking pose, Cole rested his chin in his palm and stared off into space slightly.

"I..ah...." What could she say? "So then... you're not always so serious?" she said, schooling her face into a solemn expression, then laughing. She punched him lightly on the shoulder. "Gee, and here i thought you were this... ah... nevermind."

Had Saki been speaking to a younger Cole, he would've simple read her mind to find out what she was going to say. However, that was in the past now and Cole decided to go about things the normal way...
"No, I'm not always serious, that would make me miserable. I do enjoy myself from time to time. Yet, what were you going to say? Now I'm curious."
Cole asked as he gazed at Saki.

"I just thought... you'd be different. Thats all." She smiled at him, then looked back to where Dyanel had disappeared. "That girl," she said softly, her smile fading. "I've never seen someone so carefree with that kind of look in her eyes." She turned her eyes back to his, an unreadable look on her face. "Its like... she's been hurt, alot, and she genuinely believes now she can have happiness." She stopped and took in a breath. "I just haven't met many people who stay so positive and trustworthy." she shrugged, and turned her back to Cole. "Everybody has scars," she said softly. "There is no one walking this world who does not carry scars on their heart. And if there ever were someone like that, he'd be a shallow soul." She turned her head to look back at Cole. "Wouldn't you agree?"

A soft smile played across Cole's lips, and yet, it seemed to hold a brief moment of saddness. Cole's eyes shifted to the spot Dyanel vanished from...
"You are more correct then you know Saki. We all do carry scars, some more then others. Dyanel carries a great, I should know, I was along side her when she recieved a few. I'm not sure if I've told you this, but I see Dyanel as a little sister and as all big brothers do, I wish for nothing more then to see her happy. If she truly has found happiness, then may the goddess Sune bless her and her new husbands marriage for eternity."
With a sigh Cole looked back at Saki and smiled once more...
"I'm beginning to show my age, I sound like an old man. Never the less, come. Let us go for a walk, I believe we've stood in the garden for long enough. Have you seen our crystak clear lake yet Saki?"
Cole asked as he offered his arm to Saki.

Saki laughed, tears forming in the corners of her eyes. "No one offers their arm like that anymore," she said. She stopped when his arm didn't move. "So serious," she chided, pouting out her lip. "Well," she said, linking her arm through his. "I do not believe I have. Thank you." She smiled and waited for him to escort her.

Arm in arm, Saki and Cole walked out of the garden and headed towards the lake. Before the left the garden, just as they passed a bush of daffodils and plucked one and deftly placed it on Saki's ear so that it face outwards so all could see. He smiled at her once again.
