Okay... that shook her. Relm shivered pleasently at the kiss, hiding the way it affected her somewhat by turning slightly to smooth down the back of her skirt a bit with her other hand. Too bad the distraction did not work as well on her. And I've gloves on! If that's how I react with gloves on, what would it be like without them?!? Then her way too vivid imagination hopped in and Relm shivered again, catching Keme's brown eyes and smiling happily as he led her out.
At least she was not thinking about the singing to come at the moment.

Keme smiled as he led Relm out of the restaurant, wagging his tail, "The kareoke place is just down the street, a couple of blocks down. I thought we could walk there!" he said.

Leaning up to kiss his cheek once they were clear of the restaurant Relm giggled softly. "Sounds like a plan, Hummer! It'll let us walk off some of our dinner before trying to sing."
And then maybe it won't sit in my belly like a lead weight. Was that her imagination or was something in her DressSphere tugging opposite of her thoughts and actually getting excited about performing? All the better, Relm supposed, focusing her own thoughts on how wonderful it would be to hear Keme sing again.

Keme blushed at having his cheek kissed and he smiled, wagging his tail. And then he started leading the way down the street, humming softly.

Smiling Relm leaned her head lightly against his upper arm, happy to hear Keme humming. She had liked it even that first day, for some reason having found it refreshing rather than annoying. Funny, how she had never once really been the annoying side of her personality around him.
She did not wish to interrupt him, so her question would have to wait. At least until her Hummer was not humming. Relm grinned, very lightly nuzzling his arm a little. That was enough of a display for her.

Keme continued to hum as they walked down street, people moving out of their way. He continued partly because he liked to hum and partly because he knew Relm enjoyed his humming, thus his nickname he received the day they met.

There was no missing the place they were heading as they neared it, for not only did music swell gently from it but the sign over the kareoke bar was in the shape of huge, red, neon music notes emblazoned with white letters reading "Sing a Song Kareoke Bar". Relm felt her nervousness fighting at odds with her DressSphere as Keme lead her inside.
She blinked in surprise, and visibly relaxed a little. It was set up more like a coffeeshop than a bar and there was no smoke inside though she could tell by the mixture of scents and the looks of the drinks the other patrons held that the place did serve alcohol as well as coffee. Then she noticed the "no smoking" sign that was on the door, and read the reverse writing under it: "for the lungs of our performers". That made her smile.
A trio of slightly intoxicated college students were currently singing Kool & the Gang's "Celebration" on the "stage" that was in the middle of the place, surrounded by very comfortable looking table booths on the perifory and even more comfortable looking low chairs & accompanying tables closer to the stage. The low chairs were wide enough to seat two, comfortably if they liked to sit close together, and seemed similar to beanbag chairs but from the looks of those that were already occupied held their form much better and so were perhaps foam or something else that could retain its form.
Stealing herself a little, yet still clinging to Keme's arm, Relm glanced around. There were seats of both types available. "Where shall we sit?" She whispered, standing on tiptoe to put her words closer to Keme's ear.

Keme smiled as they came upon the bar and he was quite glad the place was smoke free, having always choked and coughed if it was near it. He looked about, taking in the decor and wondered if they had to sign up to sing or just go up the stage when it avaliable. He looked down to her when she asked where to sit and he spied a table with a seat for them both somewhere in the middle of the bar, making it not to close, but not to far from the stage, "How about there?" he asked, pointing.

Giving him a nervous smile, Relm nodded and let him lead the way. Only then did she notice what appeared to be a staff member or employee weaving among the tables. Relm knew the look on his face: pure mischief. She wondered what exactly he was making a list of, on his pad of paper as the overly slender human scribbled something upon it with an impish grin at the table of people he was just at.

Not noticing the impish looking human right away, Keme lead them towards the table he pointed out and he let Relm sit down first before sitting down next to her, looking about with a curious look on his face.

Keme did not see him right away, but as the audios were sitting down the skinny mand could not help but notice them. Relm had looked down to move her skirt out of the way so that Keme would not accidentally sit on it and did not see the man turn and head their way.
"Soooo... Welcome to Sing A Song. I'm Zach, I'll be your DJ this evening." There was a playfully impish sparkle in his gray eyes as he gave his title, clearly finding amuzement in it. Relm looked up with a gasp, not having expected him to show up so quickly. "One of our servers will be along in a minute to see what you'd like to drink, other than tap water which is free to all our singers." This was said in a way to imply that should they want bottled water they would have to both pay & ask for it. And to show that all guests were considered to be there to perform.
"So would you like your drinks first, and will I be signing you two up for solos or duets?" His eyes sparkled even more. "Or both?"
Relm, for her part, gripped tightly onto Keme's arm at a complete loss for words.

Keme was also surprised by the sudden appearance of the man and he flicked his ears. "C-Can we have our drinks first?" he asked, wanting to see what Relm wanted to do first before making a decision.

"Certainly!!" With big gesturing swings of his long arms Zach ushered a pretty dark haired female over. "Sammy! See what these two would like to drink! I want them on stage!" Then he grinned at the pair as the girl hurried over. "Sammy'll take care of your drinks. I'll be back once they're here." Zach flashed them a wink as he started to walk away with long strides.
The waitress gave them an apologetic smile. She had kind, bright brown eyes in a pretty face with a generous mouth that she had touched with a mildly shimmering lipgloss. Her dark hair was almost black and hung in a french braid to her waist. Whisps of hair had pulled out of her braid to frame her face with the short, thin bangs over her forehead. "Sorry 'bout Zach. He's got the energy of a monorail or something." Her eyes laughed gently, just as Relm jumped and banged her knees on the table. That she was likely about to sing in public suddenly had hit the pictomancer hard. The girl gave her an almost sympathetic look, as if Zach had that affect on a lot of people. "My name's Samantha." She offered, glad to have waited until now to set their glasses of water down. "What may I get for you?"
Relm was standing. If she was going to sing, she was going to have to see about a call of nature first. "Something fruity, but not too sweet. Alcoholic, but not tasting of it." Sam was nodding, jotting something down even as Relm leaned over and kissed Keme tenderly on the cheek -much to the delighted amusement of some guys behind her. "I'll be right back, Hummer." Glancing to see the signs for the restroom, the artist fairly bolted that direction.
Sammie tried to school her smile but only moderately succeeded as she looked at Keme and waited patiently for his drink order.

Keme was somewhat relieved Zach had left and he looked to Relm in concern when she jumped and banged her knee. He wanted when she made her order and then went off the restroom and gave Sammy a smile, "I'll have a Mudslide please." he said.

"Mudslide. Right." She gave the audio male a friendly smile as she snapped the cover of her pad shut. "And for the record, Zach can be overwhelming, but he's good at what he does. If you don't have songs you'd like to sing in mind, it's safe to let him pick for you. He's got a knack for it. And personally," her smile grew sheepish. "I'd love to see you two with a duet. It might be easier, especially if its your first time -if I'm any judge by your companion's reaction."
Relm meanwhile, was surprised to see that the toilets there had no lids over the seats and was glad she noticed before lifting the seat instead of the lid.
