The Pokemon fell back when yet another Astonish hit her. Combined with the sapping of her energy, Espeon couldn't stay in the battle much longer. There was no command from her trainer. Was she throwing in the towel? "Espeon!" Esprina called, "Return!"
Kilik blinked. "Wait, huh?" he scratched his temple, "I didn't even knock her out. What's the rub?" He asked, slipping a hand into his pocket and casually waving the other one.
"No rub," she giggled, "I just know that I can't beat him. However, Umbra," she looked at the sister dressed in the midnight kimono, "I think she can. She's your next opponent after all. She left the battlefield, leaning against the wall with her other four sisters.
Lombre walked over to his partner, standing next to Kilik and looking up at him. It was like he was asking to go back inside the Pokeball for another nap. However, when he saw Umbra take her place on the opposite side, he knew it wasn't meant to be. The frog walked back to the field, ready to greet another opponent.
"Well, well," Umbra said softly, "You've managed to beat four of us. Granted," the girl shook her head, "I know I won't beat you. However, the point of battling is fun isn't it?" When she recieved a nod from Kilik, she smiled. "I like that in a trainer. Not concerned with winning it all for himself, but in it for the fun. You are like that...aren't you?"
He shook his head, "No. There are times where I've felt that winning is the only option and the only thing that matters," he explained, "The thing is, I'm not battling you sisters for a prize, although that man has offered one to me," he looked over at the man in the business suit, "I heard about you from other people and decided it'd be worth a shot to challenge you."
"Then...was it worth it?"
He nodded.

Hang on just a little longer. . . Jasmine thought, watching the Rhyhorn land another heavy hit on the stoic Magneton. It was not long, however, before she knew that her Pokemon was done recording its opponent's movements. "Give it one good Hyper Beam," she said softly, hoping for the best and feeling glad that she'd used a TM or two for the magnet. The Magneton nodded as enthusiastically as it could, feeling a rush of enjoyment from the battle despite its earlier irritation. It glew vibrantly with a pure white light, gathering yet another force in between the three parts of its whole. A powerful beam shot out once more, the previous Psybeam-like move paling in comparison, as the attack widened and flung itself towards the Rhyhorn.

It didn't take too long to find the proper switches that would lower the electrified walls and lead him to Wattson. As he pressed down on the last switch, the electricity died away, giving Keegan a clear view of the gym leader. He stood with his back turned, as if he were studying something, and hadn't even noticed the redhead yet.
"Excuse me, Wattson? My name is Keegan, and I'm here to challenge you to battle," he said solemnly, folding his arms across his chest. A slight smile tugged at his lips, and he could already feel the anticipation of battle building up in his chest. He was ready.

Raichu let out a pained yelp from Mightyena's attack, and grit his teeth. He could sense that this opponent was a tough one, but he wasn't about to let it get the best of him. At Surge's command, he launched himself forward in an attempted Mega Punch, his small fist glowing with energy.
Mightyena jumped backwards, narrowly avoiding Raichu's powerful attack. He snarled and snorted, causing a stir of emotions in Raichu - Swagger.
Raichu growled, feeling a rise in its attack power and also confusion, as suddenly he didn't quite know left from right. He could hear Surge's muffled voice telling him to do something, but he couldn't make sense of it, and ran towards Mightyena in a Quick Attack. The attempt missed by a decent amount, and Raichu was only just able to avoid slamming himself into the wall.
"While it's distracted, Mightyena! Take Down!" the boy called, a rush of confidence surging into his voice. Mightyena let out a low growl as he dashed forward, striking Raichu with the powerful attack and pinning him against the wall.

Surge groaned, sensing the confusion rising from his Pokemon. "Snap out of it Raichu! Slam it with a Mega Punch!"
Raichu blinked, trying to pull himself together, and for an instance, clarity gleamed in his brown eyes. He reared back, fist glowing with energy again, and took a swing, aiming for Mightyena's jaw.
Mightyena could do nothing to avoid the attack this time, and took a solid hit that sent him skidding back several feet. He recovered quickly, jumping to his feet and growling sharply at the Raichu. "Come on Mightyena! You can do it! Bite attack!"
Mightyena snapped his jaws, and came rushing at Raichu again. His fangs found the soft flesh of the same arm that had just punched him, and Raichu let out a squeal of pain, blasting a wild Thundershock in retaliation. Mightyena was forced to let go, and the two squared off once more, glaring daggers at each other.

"You know," he began, "I knew from the moment I saw you sisters that you'd all be extremely different from one another," Kilik laughed lightly, "Each one of you is just as diverse as the Eevee evolution that you train. Makes me wish I had a bond with more than just one sibling." Lombre yawned, with his bill closing with a snap.
"I'd rather not keep the cowboy waiting," she smiled, with a slight point at the Lombre. "He looks bored. Let him play with my Umbreon," and at this, she tossed a Pokeball into the air. It released the familiar white flash and upon the field was a black fox. Her ears were like cylinders tapered at the tips, each with a single yellow ring around the middle. A round, yellow circle was on her forehead.
Hmm...that girl...Ryka? he thought, she had an Umbreon, too. Only it had blue rings, not yellow. And if Umbreon is anything like Espeon, I can expect a few attacks to come from that ring on her head. "Alright, Umbra. Round Five, and I dare say it'll be the final round," he smirked, nodding his head once.
"What makes you so sure, Kilik?" she smirked as well, crossing her arms over her chest.

Close to death? Kasiya thought, but decided not to press the matter. Mike seemed a little down, and it was her duty as his friend to try and cheer him up. She stepped through the door, gazing around the unfamiliar area. "This is all new to me too," she said quietly, hoping they wouldn't get too lost along the way. "It's beautiful out here!" She breathed in the scent of the water, running ahead a little bit to gaze over the bridge at the soothing blue water below them. "I bet there are tons of water Pokemon in there," she said, more to herself than anyone else. "Come on, Mikey! Quit lagging behind!" She was up and running again, each step causing the boards of the bridge to creak a little.

Both Pokemon were breathing heavily, neither willing to give an inch. "Quick Attack!" barked Surge, thrusting his hand towards Mightyena and Jaeshan. "Be relentless!" His eyes were wide and wild with determined, as though he were driven by something other than just a desire to win this battle. Raichu broke into a run, becoming a tan-coloured blur as he raced across the floor towards his opponent.
Jaeshan could tell that Surge had something else on his mind, but he wasn't going to let any amount of pity he may have held for the gym leader get in his way of defeating him. Mightyena took a solid hit from Raichu's streaking Quick Attack, but the dark Pokemon bounced back, rushing forward and slamming his full weight into the mouse Pokemon with another Take Down. Both Raichu and Mightyena were starting to look fatigued, although Raichu more so than Mightyena.

Pookie wasn't prepared for such a massive attack. The beam tore across his body, blasting him backwards and causing him to crash on the ground. Resistance to Normal-type attacks or not, that attack was powerful, and coming from a higher level Pokemon, it was enough to knock out the Rhyhorn. He was recalled a moment later.
Okay, this isn't completely bad, Nina thought. I can do this since Magneton has to recharge now... The psychic reached for an Ultra Ball, and flung it onto the arena.
Krystal appeared. Sparkles fell from where the Dragonair hovered, and it awaited a command.

Surge grit his teeth, and glanced over at his challenger. The boy may have seemed like he lacked strength and courage at first, but he truly was tough. The leader smiled; he liked opponents who boasted both strong Pokemon and a strong gumption as well. "This is it," he muttered, looking to Raichu. "Shock Wave! Give it yer all!" he bellowed. Raichu glanced back at him and nodded. It seemed the electric mouse also seemed to know that this was it. Electricity flared from his cheeks as he generated the current of electricity, and let it fly at Mightyena. The effort of generating such an attack put a strain on him, and he sighed heavily as his attack hit home.
Mightyena yelped as the electricity coursed through him, the attack had been much more powerful than it looked. Wincing a little, he waited for Jaeshan to issue his next command, eagerly complying when he heard the call for a Tackle. Like a black comet he streaked across the floor, ramming into the smaller Raichu and sending him toppling. Panting heavily, Mightyena limped back over to his trainer's side, certain he'd delivered the felling blow.

Raichu uttered a little cry, unable to get up again. Wordlessly Surge recalled him, wiping his brow with a gloved hand. "That's it, you did it," he said, giving an odd sort of grin. "You've proven your worth, and earned yourself this." He strode across the gym floor, his heavy boots thundering with each footfall. He stopped right in front of Jaeshan, ignoring the low growls coming from Mightyena, and held out his hand.
Jaeshan blinked, and held out his own hand, feeling his heart racing in his chest as Surge placed something in his palm. When the leader stepped back, Jaeshan held a gleaming Thunder Badge in his hand. "Thank you, Lieutenant," he said, remembering at the last minute not to call Surge 'Sir'.
"No, thank you," Surge grunted. "That was a great battle, you earned that badge." He reached into his pocket, and withdrew a case with a golden disc in it, as well as some money. "These are yours too. The TM is Shock Wave. It’s powerful and it never misses." Surge glanced down at Mightyena. "Keep that in mind."
Jaeshan nodded, looking at the disc. He wasn't even sure he had any Pokemon that could even learn it yet. "Thanks again," he said, suddenly remembering something as he recalled the exhausted Mightyena into his Pokeball. "I saw your daughter on the way here," he added. "She sends her regards."
"So formal," Surge laughed, but narrowed his eyes. "You mean Kasiya, right?" The bruises under the bandages throbbed as if on cue, and he clenched his teeth, trying to remain calm.
"Yes, of course," Jaeshan answered quickly. "At least now I know where she gets a lot of her personality from."
"Oh." Surge paused, and folded his arms. "Well, you've got yer badge, now get outta here. I don't wanna see you back in this place until you're ready to take me on again. And next time, you won't be walkin' outta here with a win. Got that?"
"Understood, Lieutenant," Jaeshan grinned, and saluted. He turned and exited the gym, grinning broadly as he ran all the way back to the Pokemon Center to get treatment for his victorious team.

The Poochyena was to close to miss the attack and the Ice Ball Levi hit him right in the side. Rolling around again gaining more momentum. Picking itself up the Poochyena watched the ice ball roll around the ground for a bit before his eyes lit up. The puppy pokemon started to chase the rolling icey Levi around the small battle field that they were using. Apperently the small water pokemon was the perfect size of toy ball for the dark type pokemon. Soon both of them were happily chasing and being chased. Seeing the out come of the 'battle' Dante sighed and ran a hand through his hair again. "Umm, how about we call this one a draw?" He asked Neal who was watching his pokemon play with a smile.
"Sure I dont think I could make him battle when he is this happy." He said glancing over to Dante.
He watched the two roll around and play some more. "Yes it is a rather nice sight, though I do believe that I need to get going to watch my friends battle. Or at least give him good luck." Saddly he recalled Levi and turned away. "Oh yeah, good luck in this gym. I hope to challange you again someday." Dante said with a smirk. Giving a small wave, with the hand that Bahamut wasn't attached to he and Apollo made there way over to where Keegan and Wattson were. Sitting down on a bench on the sidelines Dante relaxed. That is until Bahamut upon seeing her favorite person tried to 'hug' Keegan. Apollo suprisingly stopped the small dragon pokemon by clamping his teeth down on her green tail.

Magneton now hovered just barely a foot or two above the ground. Fatigue now was very apparent in the tri-magnet Pokemon; it had given all its heart and effort into that last attack, and was now suffering the consequences.
The Gym Leader looked upon the sparkling Dragonair with admiration usually only reserved for Steel-types, smiling reservedly. What beauty, grace, and strength! Jasmine honestly knew that Magneton would not last much longer against the dragon, but she was always proud of it no matter how it fared in these gym battles. And there had been more amazing feats in the world of Pokemon battles; Magneton had pulled up some pretty unexpected pushes before in the years she had watched him.
But now, the magnet looked rather exhausted, and could only watch the Dragonair warily as it waited for some of its energy to return. Jasmine frowned, wondering if this was pushing it too far; she remembered the last time the situation had been similar to this, and she had recalled the Magneton when she felt there wasn't much more it could do, replacing it with Steelix. And Magneton had been mad at her for a couple weeks after that, for giving up on it when it hadn't been ready to, even if it knew itself that it was near defeat.

"All right, Krystal!" Nina called. "Let's start this off-- Unh..." The girl closed her eyes tightly and shook her head a little, holding it in her hands. Events began to play in her mind like a video...
Maorde grinned, looking down at a plot in Ecruteak's cemetary. There was a small tombstone which marked the grave, and his grin broadened. "I just can't believe it," he said with a sinister chuckle. "The great and powerful Sabrina Williams, Gym Leader of Saffron City and psychic mistress extrodinaire, gave her own life to preserve the life of her sister." Another chuckle. "At least, you saved the person you believed was your sister. You shouldn't have done that, dear... Why save the life of a killer?"
"N-no!" Nina practically screamed. "Krystal, Whitney, we need to go now!" Without a chance for a protest from her Pokemon, she recalled Krystal into her Ultra Ball, but held the ball in her left hand. "Jasmine, I'm sorry, but I've just had a terrible vision that Maorde Menskr is going to return!" The girl whirled around and grabbed Whitney's hand with her free hand, dashing toward the door.

((Terribly sorry about the delay Andy))
Kakuna could not take another Gust attack, and tumbled through the air, pulling off a not so smooth landing. Bugsy sighed, recalling his Pokemon. I already know how this will end, but I must not disappoint by challenger. Scyther was his last bet, and he was not going down without a fight.
The Bug Pokemon was released, and stared down the small bird, rubbing its scythes together, awaiting Aska's move.
