Arch the Angel Eulalia Danae Arch the Angel Alloran cursed as the frog started hopping around. He drew Dyrwyn, the flames barely visible on the sword thanks to the field. "******** elevators." The frog moved with swift speed to the top of the elevator, pushing through the roof hatch to escape. "Goddamned frog..." Alloran grunted as he tried to scrape the frog off the ceiling with the side of his sword. ((I created the profile format before the Resistance was named AA, and hadn't changed it...so most people just use the listed 'resistance' rather than AA.)) The frog jumped towards Alloran, it's fangs bared and aiming for his arm.

((They may be with the resistance.. but not necessarily with the army. Like the volunteers at the war shelter.)) (Also... Army? Army sounds kind of hostile. Like they're part of the war. Some characters are opposing that crap all together.)

ArynChris ((Yep. AA wasn't decided on until later, so some people still don't know to call it that, I guess.))
"Yep, the Resistance is your street name out there," A.C. grinned. A wet T-shirt? Uh-huh, I BET it depends who's running it. Better make sure to hide the less obvious weapons first. Or is that the point? Make everybody reveal what they've got to hide? It would sure get rid of wires, explosives, some of the knives... That's quite clever. If the general weren't so serious, we might try that ourselves on female recruits. But this outfit is perfect for that kind of ruse, very clever. Efficient.
"The other two are still fighting over who gets to be the Alliance. It's gotten to be a bit of a joke of the fields, actually. 'Who do you fight for?' 'Oh, the Alliance.' 'Which one?' Hilarious, if they weren't trying to kill each other." "Well, that will clear things up with the Angel, until he starts handing out banners with the name." Merlin shook his head. "Anyways, you'll both have to come with me for screening. We're the smaller of the armies, and we rely on allies. Thus, we need to prevent against spies. Come with me."

The effect was something similar to raquet ball, except the frog didn't bounce back from the wall as it went smack. It was nicely stunned, not dead, but decently stunned.

Arch the Angel Merlin shook his head. "Anyways, you'll both have to come with me for screening. We're the smaller of the armies, and we rely on allies. Thus, we need to prevent against spies. Come with me." "Actually, here's a question: How do you stop spies? I mean, I'm sure the Super Alliance uses mind readers, but how do you and the human army do it?" A.C. tried to sound as if she didn't know, although in fact she wasn't sure how the AA did it. That was why she asked, of course. It miiight just be a good idea to know before they set her in a room with one of their own mind readers, if they had one.

Aly looked over at A.C. without turning her head. It could just be an innocent question, but Aly's premonition told her it wasn't. "I'm sure we'll be finding out shortly," she smiled and turned to the woman beside her. "After all, you and I have nothing to worry about! Unless you're a spy of course," she said it jokingly but studied A.C. carefully for a reaction. Before she could get any verbal reply though, Aly looked towards Merlin and laughed again. "But I don't think he would actually explain the process to us until after the screening took place. That would be foolhardy and defeat the purpose of the screening in the first place. Lead the way kind sir." She walked forward.

A.C. smiled with a little embarassment and laughed. "Yeah, I know. I just thought, you know," she blushed, "to be ready. I mean, a wet T-shirt contest... Do they judge by the biggest, uh... you know? I mean," A.C. turned an even deeper red, almost crimson, "I don't... I mean... maybe I should come back when someone else is running the 'spy test,' you know?"
In fairness, A.C. does not have the biggest, uh... you know. Average, but not... big.

Aly turned again and smiled. "I don't think it'll be a wet T-shirt contest. I think he was referring to the initiation ceremony for that... so probably after the screening." Aly laughed, "If that really was how they did their screening, it makes one wonder how they would tell if you're a spy or not... based on the presumption that spies have smaller or larger chests? It wouldn't work so well as a test. Amusement, yes... Spy test, not so much." Aly herself was rather 'average' in that respect. "So no need to worry about any wet T-shirt contests!" She grinned and walked a few paces until she was behind A.C. Then she gave her a slight nudge forward with her hand lightly on the woman's shoulderblade. "I'm glad there'll be someone there to take the spy test with me though... even if it's not a wet T-shirt contest... it is still slightly daunting."
Aly pondered A.C.'s reaction. It was a very good imitation of a rather prudent and nervous young woman, but somehow it didn't really fit the picture. Aly also noticed that she was trying to get out of taking the test, which only led to more suspicion. Why did she suddenly want to leave when she realized there was going to be a spy-test?

"Well..." A.C. hesitated. How to put this? "Actually, I don't know if I mind that so much, if they let us get dry afterwards. You know, alone, change into dry clothes? I guess it's just..." The last part she blurted. "Idon'treallylikepsychics. I mean, not that they're bad people, just... Somebody messin' around in my mind isn't really my idea of a good day."
She whispered, "Remember he said they were thinking of mind control? What if that wasn't a joke? What if what they really do... is mess around in your mind when you come in, so you never want to leave?" A.C. didn't bother to hide her fear, although she didn't make the mistake of trying to come up with a good sob story of why she wouldn't want to leave. She knew what she'd said would hold the ring of truth, and there were plenty of reasons out there why someone would want to keep their options open, especially during precarious times like these.

Aly paused for a moment. " Yeah... I'm not so much a fan of people probing into my mind either, creeps me out too. I feel it's an invasion of privacy. I don't think that's how they conduct things here or they wouldn't get the co-operation of both humans and supers. Maybe in the Alliance of Supers, they might try something of that sort, But... seeing as this is the Resistance, or Arch's Army if you prefer, I'm sure they're willing to compensate for both Humans and Supers. Not everyone coming to join this team is 100% ok with either parties. They usually just want some form of harmony with the least amount of blood shed and tyranny as possible. From what I've heard, they really need people on this side... So many innocents out there are getting hurt because of this war..." She fell deep in thought for a moment and then snapped back to what she was saying. She lowered her voice to the same level as A.C's. "And, about mind control... You came here willingly didn't you? So you must have had some inclination to join with the resistance. People who are fighting for a team with their hearts are much better than having brainwashed dolls fighting without a cause." She knew it sounded sappy, but it was how she felt on the matter. "If you're scared, I'll go in for the screening first." She was just about to move forward again, but paused once more to ask, "Just out of curiosity, what are your reasons to join the resistance?"
Aly felt that A.C. was being true about her anxiety over mind control and telepaths, and it was normal for people to feel this way. She too had some bad experiences with Telepathic supers. But as with everything, things didn't come in black or white and she knew some telepathic supers who were genuinely good people.

Erica helped herself to a sandwhich and then went to the elevator, heading up to the first floor, if anything just to check and see if Minerva was back yet. She stayed in stealth, even if the elevator opened, the observers would find nothing of importance to look at, and thier minds would move away from the elevator as if nothing had happened at all.
As she walked out, she saw Merlin, and instinctually moved closer to the shadows. She didn't trust the magic type, they could see through too many things. Her interest piqued when she saw Aly and AC. She didn't recognize either of them, that didn't necessarily mean much, however, not with her faded memories. She wondered if there was some sort of test for the new recruits, if there was she had gotten out of it...or more like she hadn't really been recruited, but still. She smiled to herself, if it was a wet t-shirt contest, the twins would probably win. (( rofl ))

As the two continued to... what could it be called? It's not really banter, more of "he's not posting, let's make small talk in our emotes" or whatever. Meh. Anyways, Merlin had nodded off, his chin resting on his chest, and a light snoring could be heard. Whether he was actually asleep, or just annoyed with their discussion was unknown.
