Meran let out a grunt as he fell back. Fire had just exploded from both of his hands at the same time and he had only been using one to release some. He got back up and brushed his hands off, the minor burns stinging as he took a stance again. He'd spent a few months practicing this way, he was getting used to the sting of self-inflicted burns and how bad they got. Hopefully, he wouldn't get so used to it that he either burned his hands so bad they couldn't be healed or, literally, blew them off. He resumed his focus as he tightened the mental chokers on his chi flow and started again. He would need to let it all out later before he went to rest. The built up chi hurt worse when he didn't use it.

He blew out small trickles of fire, most didn't even get away from his fist. It was hardly enough to scorch away a sheet of paper with one hit. He shuddered a bit as he started to feel the build through a pain inside his body like joint pains in places where there weren't joints.

Meran continued his near-abusive exercise with restricting himself with use of his chi. It was hurting more than usual too. That was a sign that once he finished with this session he would need to take a break from this type of training for a few days to let his flow return to normal. He swung his hands out to either side, creating weak, crackling trails on either side where his hands passed by. He skipped forward, bringing his hands back like he was about to do a thrust with both palms, turning them more inward and creating a small stream of fire from his palms. It was weak as well, just as it should be since he was working under such strict restraints.

Meran grunted and worked through the building pain, dropping backward suddenly and catching himself on his hands, kicking out hard with his legs and releasing fire at the same time. The flare barely moved past his foot, having all the heat of a cooking fire. Even so he believed he would be hard-pressed to light kindling with that flame. Unlike the blue flare of a Lightningbender that created more intense fire, his was a faint blue with a tinge of green. He jumped back to his feet and shuffled forward, sidestepping once, twice and then striking out with one hand and enveloping it with the same fire from his kick in a sort of smack.

It was getting better. Meran was starting to make the fireballs larger when he punched and his motions and bending techniques were helping him release all the chi he'd been building up. It was still coming out in slow trickles, but he was managing so far. He kicked out twice and made a sweeping lash with his hands to release two small trails of fire. He stopped for a moment, dropping to one knee and panting lightly. He was feeling more of those taxes on his body for doing this.

He swung his left leg out and kicked a fireball, then shifted to his right and kicked twice. His arms shifted as he spun around on the balls of his feet and thrust both hands out in front of him to release a blast of fire. Meran stood straight for a moment before suddenly dropping on his rear and bracing himself with his hands so he was at least sitting.

"Too much of that...I think I should be more careful with my body..." He muttered to himself, frowning thoughtfully. It was time to let himself work normally again. This would also help him figure out if he'd improved himself at all.

Meran exhaled slowly and focused on his chi flow, going through simple meditative motions and working the mental bonds loose in his body. He pushed his palms downward while letting his breath out slowly, stepping forward and thrusting his palm out. The resulting burst of flame shocked him a little. It was nothing to be impressed over, though, it was just excess chi finding its way to release. He was going to exhaust the extra as quickly as possible until his fire became more consistent in size and intensity to decide how much it had grown. He prepared to release all the energy he'd pent up in this training.

Meran ran forward a few steps, sliding on his right foot and kicking at with a jet of fire, slightly weaker than his first release but still a great amount. He thrust both arms out to either side after he took a solid stance, flame flowing from his palms wildly. He stopped with the release to make sure he hadn't set anything on fire before jumping forward, spinning and producing fire in the spin. He threw his arms forward when he landed and blew all of the fire gathered around him and even more straight ahead where it struck the far wall and simply dispersed.

Meran made strokes in the air, creating a spiral of fire before shoving it all away from him in a sort of swirling wall. It was a miserable excuse of a spiral with the erratic sizes the chi was making, but he liked the idea of making one. Sometimes he looked for ways to amuse himself with specific opponents. The spiral would definitely be fun to watch an airbender try to fly through. Unfortunately, he was also a soldier, so there'd be a fireball to the face waiting on the other side if they weren't quick to attack when they got through.

Meran plopped into a cross-legged seated position and looked around for a moment, thinking as he did so. It was hard to think of fun moves to use on Earth and Waterbenders. Maybe a technique to wash the fire over a rock and try to bend it around just to make them jump. That was hard, though, fire wasn't incredibly easy to keep manipulating after one threw it. Then, of course, there were waterbenders. Even harder to deal with since they put fire out. If he could learn to bend lightning that would be interesting. Maybe that bright blue flame held a little better against water the stronger the user was.

He supposed it would help to start practicing, though. Later on he would try getting to some barrels of water or something to try practicing shooting through it. If such a thing were even possible to learn.

She finally escaped from the guards, they had split her and friends apart. She didn't know where she was nor did she know where Fulgar, her teacher, and her new friend/fellow student. Her back against the wall looking around for any guards. She needed a good disguise but the bad thing its very hard to hide bright blue hair. Kurai sighed hoping she'd meet up with her friends, she was learning so much. Her hand making contact with her forehead, how stupid, if she never scorched that high guard's eyebrows. She snuck around until she could find some outfit she could disguise herself in.
