Kaleb fidgeted, was he that easy to read? "I-I can't just invite myself over whenever, i-it w-would feel weird..."

"Sure ya can." he shrugged. "I don't mind." He wouldn't complain if Kaleb wanted to come over since he liked having the mage around.

Kaleb wished he could just shamelessly follow Riley home after work and crawl into bed with him for the night, but he was too timid for that. "That's not the point," he said in an exasperated tone, his fidgeting getting worse.

Kaleb just fidgeted for a couple seconds, looking a little stressed. "I-it wouldn't be polite to ask something like that..."

"B-but still, i-its your apartment, and..." Kaleb trailed off and bit his lip. He was really nervous just thinking about asking something like that, but he realized he didn't want to stay away from his partner for too long today. "And... and would you mind if I came over tonight?" He finally whispered.

Kaleb sighed in relief and slumped back against the couch, then took a shaky sip of his chocolate milk. That had been much too difficult. He hoped Riley would spare him the stress and just take him back to his apartment next time without being asked to.

Kaleb would have to get over that eventually. He couldn't just drag his partner home all the time or he'd start to feel weird about it.

Now that the source of his temporary anxiety was gone for the moment, Kaleb relaxed and smiled a bit. "D-did you want me to make something for dinner?" he asked, figuring if he had to visit, the least he could do was give his partner less to do later.

"Vegetables are food," Kaleb said, reaching over to poke at Riley's shoulder. "How does spaghetti sound? I can even make you meatballs if you want." He wouldn't eat them himself, but he would need something to do while the water for the noodles started to boil.
