"As if what?" Yami had let his voice soften. He felt bad suddenly, though he wasn't quite sure what he had done wrong. Put too much stress on the boy, perhaps. "... I'm sorry, Yuugi. You're right, it was... unfair for you."

Yugi lift his head up and looked at Yami's face, trying to see if he really was sorry. From what he could see, Yami did look truly sorry unless he was just a good actor. "It's alright." Yugi said as he smiled sadly. "You think I get use to it, being the but of everyone's jokes..." He laughed weakly and shook his head. "I'm sorry, you're a card dealer not a bartender. You should go back to work before I get you in trouble with your boss."

"Forget my boss. He wouldn't be able to fire me, trust me on that." Yami pulled another chair over and sat down beside Yuugi, the frown still in place. "Now... Yuugi, you weren't the but of anyone's joke. No one was laughing at you. I'm sorry that you were made to feel that way..."

Yugi stared at Yami with slight surprise as the other sat beside him. "Why are you doing this? I mean, you don't know me so why does it matter to you how I feel?" Yugi's eyes lowered to his hands that were resting in his lap. "You're a very odd card dealer."

"Yes, I'm aware of that." Yami chuckled, reaching over to out a hand on the nervous boy's shoulder. "And it matters because I've taken a liking to you, Yuugi. Like I said, you're interesting... and it is my fault you're so flustered."

Yugi smiled slightly at Yami's comment. "You must get some really boring people here then. I'm not all that interesting Yami."
(sorry for the sucky-ness xX; )

((*pets Rave* ^___^ It's okay! It does not suck, a post is a post!))
Seeing Yuugi smile got Yami smiling as well. He really didn't want the little one unhappy. "Oh, well... you're right and wrong with that. I get many interesting people here... well, from time to time. But none interesting the way you are. You just can't see that for some reason."

"That's because it's true, I'm not interesting. If you know me long enough you'll see." Yugi pushed his blond bangs out of his face as he laughed softly. "So what's so interesting about me then Yami?"

Yami chuckled and continued smiling. "What is so interesting? For one... there's the way you think that you aren't interesting, even when it's very obvious that you are. And then there's how shy you are, and the way you talk... but in any case. Stop worrying about what I think, because what I think isn't about to change anytime soon, no matter what your opinion of yourself is. Now..." he reached out, took Yuugi's hand and stood, attempting to pull the little one along with him. "Let's move closer to the stage. One of our shows should brighten you up a little..." Plus he knew Otogi would give him hell if he wasn't close up.

Someone moved out to the center of the stage get-up. He had a microphone in hand. Not dressed to snazzy, either. But that was irrelevant.
"Patrons of the Lucky Dice Casino.." He started, speaking into the microphone and waving melodramatically like the ring master at a circus.
"We have a special treat for you tonight. A young dancer who is one of our dice-handlers. If you will, please, give your undivided attention to the one. The only. Ryuuiji Otogi!" A wave of the hand and applause.
The lights dimmed, as if reminding everyone to sit down.

"I don't see how that makes me interesting." Yugi said before Yami grabbed his hand. Yugi blushed and followed the other toward the stage without a word. Yugi never really saw a stage show before, most the times he would play cards until he was done and cash out without really looking around. The lights dimmed as he and Yami sat down near the stage. Yugi smiled as people clapped and watched the stage, not noticing that he was still holding Yami's hand.

"That's alright. You don't have to... as long as I can see it for you," Yami said, a hint of amusement and playfulness in his tone of voice and eyes. It stayed and, if anything, grew brighter as they sat down still holding hands. A quick glance at Yuugi showed that the smaller boy either didn't notice... or didn't care. He figured it was the former, and gave the hand an extra little squeeze before focusing his attention on the stage.

As if Otogi's performances never stunned him enough before...
Yami's eyes remained glued to the stage for the duration of the performance. Man, Otogi was really into it tonight, wasn't he? Despite his better judgement and common sense, Yami felt his pulse speed up quite a few times before it was all over. True, Otogi may have been concieted and thought too much of his own talents, but one thing was true... he really was good at what he did.
And that night, Otogi really had done even better than usual. Yami could hear patrons around him commenting on the show, but he really didn't pay too much attention. Even though his body was in the Casino and his hand was in Yuugi's, his mind had wandered off elsewhere.

Perhaps Yami's mind had wandered off into Otogi's pants. Which was exactly the effect Otogi wanted.
He had been back into his own dressing room and had changed back into his regular, poker clothes. A green-sequened vest and black pants and white, decorative shirt underneath a black, long-sleeved one.
"How'd you like it?" He was hovering over Yami's ear, breathing on him. Not there, then, suddenly, there.
"Did you like it a lot? Hm?"
