That's like explaining how other characters die. The vast majority ARE killed by NPCs. Ulic Kel-Droma, Lumiya, criminals and vagabonds.
Preventing NPCs from killing PCs is like outlawing war. The best general can be killed by the lowliest grunt if he's fool enough.
Having that would force people to think, and would keep people from godmodding. The inability to do 'awesome' stuff keeps people concentrated on the here and now. They can't all be lightsaber-wielders.
Even the Jedi Civil War, who had thousands, if not tens of thousands of Force-users had many, many more common grunts.
The root of my argument is people have to be aware that, through careful planning, excellant strategy, and raw skill, they can be killed in the RP. The world isn't perfect, and neither is the RP. So don't try to make it that way.

My second suggestion would be a straight War RP.
Sith/Empire vs. Jedi/Rebels Or Dark Jedi/CIS vs. Jedi/Republic
-Decide who wants to be on which team.
-Have a random election to determine who gets what position in the army. Mosty likely, this will be judged on RP ability in the guild. People like Sagetim and Seph are more likely to be a General, then say, joesmith.
-Split up the other ranks based on RP samples, existing experience, and preference.
-Then create bios using era-relevant information (X-Wings around only during the Galactic Civil War)
-Then, we figure out who controls what, and play at it. Let the outcome be decided by skill of the Rpers. Whoever wins.... well, wins.

Problems there: The Rebels didn't have very many Jedi. Only one that most people know of. Also, CIS didn't have any DJ's except for whoever Palpatine sent there way, which was never more than one at a time.

Wrong. There were no less than three at any one time. Tyranus, Grievous, Asajj were the most notable. There was also Quilan Vos, and way before, Omega Grant.
And Jedi is a broad term. Basically any Force-user who's not with the Empire. Includes practically everyone in exile, Luke and Leia, Yoda, Ben, and many many more.
There were more out there than people realized.
Sidious had about five Hands, Vader had three apprentices, and EVERY member of the Inquisitorious was Force-Adept. Plus the Emperor's Mages, and the Royal Guards, and...
Basically, your statement is unfound. Palpatine had dozens, if not more than two hundred Dark Jedi in his employ. There were only the two Sith Lords, but many many uneducated minions.
And let me ask you. Ever heard of an Echuu-Shen Jon?

Egad! I've been outgeeked! Anyhow, I dont like the idea of a historical RP because there's a predetermined conclusion, and we'd always be tying it in with the actual story. I'm still for resurrecting the Main RP, with a few tweaks. I like the backstory, like the idea of playing an ordinary citizen, but let's focus on the resistance aspect rather than roleplaying the character's job and such, like I've noticed in the MRP forum.

I never said it would be pre-determined. Just that era.
Ever read Star Wars Infinities?
Basically, it's a sceanrio with the possibility that the Empire might have crushed the rebellion, and Vader ends up strangling Luke and spanking him like the disobediant child he is.
Or the Empire gets pwned even worse than in the movie, and Luke becomes his own god, conquers the galaxy, marries Chewbacca, has sex with his sister, enslaves the Duros, etc.
My point is, it's just a military scenario. Stick people on each side, figure out the nit-picky details, and shoot.

War RP's are favored amongst most though some hard core RPers would perfer a more balanced and "extravagant" RP. If you want an easy RP War would be the way to go.

The wonderful thing, though, it's the best way to 'accidently' kill off people you don't like. You can always blame it on their officers' incompetenace. *Chokes*
Apology accepted, Captain Needa.

I say screw the poll option, create a thread and have the categories for everything suggested, (example:
Rp style War Mission Free
Point System yes no
Force Potential Start with Earned Selected
Story Line "Jawa's drink Java" "Lando & Addictions" "The Lost Hands Saga"
Then have each person post like this Mission, Yes, Earned, The Lost Hands Saga
Eliminates Mule voting, and shows what each person stands for.

You can program a mule to type that in a post. Just like you can program one to vote a certain option.
Thing is, most people aren't that smart.

I object to leaving it to a vote. Has anyone else noticed how many illiterate fools there are in this guild? If we put the thread in here, nobody would see it, but if we put it out there, every moron and his cousin would be voting. So let's continue with the debate until we're completely stalemated. We still haven't worked out even what theme we want yet...

we started in January, its going to be April, thats 1/4 of a year, we have stalemated on nothing, its taking forever to come up with something, i doubt that half those morons out there are even going to participate in the main rp!! so whats the point of having them vote, hold the vote in here, we can make it that only a querom (i think i spelled that right not sure) will allow the decisions to be ok. And if anyone ever argues they couldnt particpate, we reply that the subforum was a public area and has been up for several months.

How about we simply post that those who wish to participate come here and vote. Those that intend participating, well, they do.
And those who don't then they don't
