Just remember who you are, Rubedo. Albedo says quietly. Abruptly he severs his mental connection from the others. Gaignun blinks and shakes his head, receiving a whiplash from the disconnection. Alka is laying on Gaignun, her eyes somewhat blank. She's isolated herself in her own mind, blocking out everything. She doesn't even blink when Gaignun gently shakes her.

"Dammit!" Jr. exclaimed as he punched the countertop next to his plate of curry, "What does that b*****d want from us?!" He didn't know what to do. "I'm a coward and I'm weak... I can't protect Alka." He knew that Albedo would keep coming after him no matter where he was at. And every time Albedo came near her, she would become more withdrawn and feel more pain. She would probably hate him for it, but he had to stay away from Alka in order to keep her safe from him. "I'm going out for a walk, Gaignun. I need to be alone right now, but I'll be right back." Jr. lied, "Will you take care of Alka for me?"

"Of course I will take care of her." You take care of yourself. Gaignun added mentally. He holds Alka close, whispering gently into her ear. Right before Jr. leaves the room, she shyly reaches out with her mind. You'll... be back soon, right Rubedo? Please don't be upset for too long... If he looks back at her, she is looking over at him over Gaignun's shoulder. She meets his eyes, and smiles faintly.

Jr. couldn't lie to her while she looked at him like that. He smirked and waved at her. Then he ran off and left the room without a word.

Jr. didn't leave the Elsa and was heading down the stairs toward the ES elevator when Mary saw him. Luckily, she couldn't have seen that that was where he was heading to because he didn't get very far. He didn't want her to stop him from leaving, so he had to think of a way to get her off his back. "Ah no. I'm just going for a walk." Jr. said as he went toward the elevator to go to the lower level of the ship.

Mary/Shelly ( rofl ) shrugs. By the Asher is chaos. Nope, you ain't leaving without hassle Jr.! chaos looks up at the hassled-frustrated U.R.T.V. "Albedo again?" is all he asks. He types something on the console in front of him, running some kind of test.

"You guessed it..." Jr. said. He didn't know why, but he felt like he could tell chaos anything and not get scolded or looked down on because of it. "chaos, I'm going to tell you the truth about what I'm doing down here. But you can't tell anyone where I'm going or what I'm doing. Ok?"

chaos looks at his friend seriously. "What is it? Are you... going after Albedo by yourself?" chaos doesn't judge him; he merely wants to look after his friends.

"If I told them, I'm almost certain that they wouldn't let me go or would insist on going with me. Also, Alka's going through enough as it is. I don't want her to have to deal with Albedo terrorizing her again. I can't protect her from that as things stand right now."

"...Do you want me to with you, Jr.?" chaos looks worried for his friend. "I would tell you that what you're doing is slight insane, but... It makes sense. I don't want you to regret it though. What will Alka think when she finds out you've left?"
