[GNG Recruitment Center Island on the Tokugawa] Goldbrease had been working with the maintenance crew aboard the Tokugawa for some months now, with the ok from the GN he had begun repairing and fabricating parts for his mecha, some parts that were damage could not be repaired with materials available to the GNG or equipment available and had to be switched out with substitutes, this included things such as the armor on the body, the left knee section, and the shield. A nice bonus however is that the data cores he took from the Zeon labs had the blue prints for his mecha which made it easier to repair the inner systems of the mecha. Gold had set himself up a little work center for computer work and inventing on the side of everyday activities. When the downtown chaos started he began working on weapons to stop opponents without killing them. *gold continues to work at his desk with a prototype rifle and busy making blue prints for it while assembling it* What a mess things can turn into, well if I can get this working things may be a bit easier on the troops. ~half an hour later~ It’s finished! The electron particle laser is finished. Now I just have to test it and make adjustments as needed…. I’m talking to myself again… *hits a few keys and saves the blue prints* *begins dialing up the head of the Tokugawa when his wrist computer on his arm starts beeping* Huh? *the holo screen blips up and shows a new bounty* well guess I can’t ignore my old profession…. Vic voltage kidnapped a GNG officer. Gah! More stuff comes up every minute! *a louder different sounding beep comes from the wrist computer* now what another bounty?! *he stares at a digital read out of distance and other statistics* huh? There is a large energy signal out on the ocean a little ways from here? Interesting… *opens the com channel and calls up the head of the base* Hello sir, this is Goldbrease, I’ve just finished the prototype LR-43spasm rifle, and I would like permission to test it in field if possible. Also I’ve picked up a large energy signal out in the ocean, I would like to take a boat and investigate the energy signal sir! Picture of the spasm:

Ai Leen (page2) ...and meanwhile, behind the office doors of one particular organization, a man known mostly as Leon watched the news with interest. "Hmph. I imagine the senators are squirming right now. Gives us more time to work." "Ladies and Gentlemen of the Gaian Senate, I am Leon, senior representative of Thinktank." Dark brown hair swept to one side, immaculately groomed for this occasion, head held high with a perfect posture as he swept his audience with meaningful brown eyes. "I am certain you are aware of the situation concerning the tragic events of East Aekea base. It was as I witnessed this event that I knew my company's services were absolutely required." He clicked off the lights, via remote, then fired up a Powerpoint slideshow. "For those of you not in the know, Thinktank has been a major part of Gaia since we as a country have had a military. Our job has always boiled down to a simple statement: devise a self-sustaining solution." *flick* A flowchart. It showed multiple flows of cash and an idea represented by a light bulb entering into a large bland square marked "Thinktank". Within the square, the money filtered into various divisions, which in turn produced ...lego bricks?...which were then assembled into a skyscraper outside of the square. "Until this point, we have been in the business of letting others come to us with their money and ideas. However, this situation has struck a chord with us, and I believe certain causes of this situation need to be remedied immediately. Therefore, in an unprecidented move from my company, we would like to aid the Gaian Government with its current financial crisis." *flick* Another flowchart. This time, Thinktank was the source of money, which flowed into a greek-looking building which was probably representative of the Senate. "Nothing can be done for the bases that have been abandoned and dismantled already. Those actions are in the past. However, Thinktank can assure that the current military remains at least, to defend our borders." *flick* A still off of extremely recent news, showing Port de Gambino in flames, with not one GNG unit in sight. A jeep with a machinegun mounted in the back was firing into a store. "This is our proposal then: Thinktank will provide the Gaian Government with funds equal to fourteen trillion gold. Our analysts estimate that value will be sufficient for the Government to slow the military cutbacks. We will also found a non-profit advisory organization staffed by economic analysts familiar with military priorities. The purpose of this organization is to aid you senators in balancing the military budget." Leon paced the floor slowly as he continued. "We have received word that your R&D divisions are next on the chopping block." He held up a forestaying hand. "Now now, we have our sources, and we will not divulge them. However, our knowledge of this matter is fortunate for you, because we are interested in purchasing those divisions. Tokyo R&D, Aquarion Project, Aekea Artificial Intelligence Initiative and Electronics Enhancement (AAIIEE), and Durem R&D. For these small but innovative research divisions, we pledge the money and resources necessary to run and stabilize every branch of your military for the next several years." The picture of the very unstable Port de Gambino situation was still being displayed. The lights came back on. "And now I'll direct your attention to the legal documentation I've provided for the specifics." And the meeting between Leon and the Gaian Senate continued...

[Close to Shore - North Aekea]
He started sinking from the sky. "Out of gas already? Come on, you ungrateful....ball of lightning...get goin." It was no use, it was bleeding off too much energy. Vic peered about, beginning to look for things he could use to siphon, or a boat he could grab.
The salty spray of ocean could be seen in all directions but the one he was headed towards. Hey wait. The kidnapper squinted some. "Oh hell yeah." An offshore drilling rig, not too far off their course. He swung towards the operation.
[Meanwhile, on the docks of Isle de Gambino...]
The air was abuzz with talk. Some of the earliest to rise fishermen were talking with the latest to bed fishermen.
"Did you see it too?" "Yeah, I did, bub. Big ball of light up in the sky." "Was it a burd?" "Birds ain't light, stupid." "Hey, maybe it was a plane!" "Planes aren't balls, dumbass." "Super-" "Shut the hell up and help me finish cleaning these trout."
((Vic will arrive next post.
EDIT: Also, feel free to ask questions of Thinktank's representative, as NPC senators! xd ))

[Port de Gambino]
The VF cruised to a halt, and the searchlight swept over the two men, illuminating tendrils of wispy smoke still wafting from the fighting that had gone on here. Rachele clicked on her PA again, and her frustrated, "Stop that now!" echoed over the street. The one armed half-mecha/half jet snapped the gunpod onto one of the spare hardpoints on its folded back wings, then extended the hand forward. "Climb on. We're headed to base." It was an order, from the feel of the tone, or possibly a demand.
She cut the PA and switched back to comms.
[GNG Secure Freq 295.75] <> She said, as she regarded the two men steadily.

[Port de Gambino - "She had to go and ruin his fun" - 0307 Hours]
Talon bashed the man once more against the mail box and then whispered to the evildoer, "You're soooooooo lucky she showed up."
The armored soldier pulled the downtowner away from the box and led him to the arm of the guardian, kicking in his knee to make him stay there. Talon then turned back and walked over to assist the fried marine. "Easy does it man." He said calmly, kneeling down and picking up the man. "We're gonna get you some help now." He walked as quickly as he could back to the VF, climbing up onto the arm, holding the injured marine in place with one hand, and half-strangling the terrorist with the other to keep him from jumping.
He gave the arm a solid kick with his boot, signaling everything was ready to go.

[Gaian Senate Chambers - Senator xDarkSephieX 666]
He cleared his throat roughly, and shuffled through some papers in front of him. The papers, well, they were important to every senator... the things that no politician would ever go without. The all important "Voter Opinion Polls". Which were quite easy to take, what since most people don't vote. Or even seem to know the senate exists.
He leafed through them, checking up on what the "Public" thought about certain "issues" like the military, anarchy and law, etc, etc, etc.
He was quickly coming to the solution that would best cover his a** against all possibilities. People like heroes, and adventurers. And there was no doubt that by far the number one industry was Mercenaries. If there was a fully thriving military... they'd be out of work...
And unemployed workers, usually means unemployed senators. And frankly, he was enjoying the good life too much to risk it.
But what to do? Propose that Gambino be cut off like a cancerous cell? But... all that sweet tax money... sweet, sweet gold that would be padding his coffers. All his pork projects. No, they couldn't do that...
But they were talking about putting the fate of the military in a third party, a civilian party. The militarists would hardly appreciate that.
"Now sir," he said, directing it towards his fellow senator, trying to get the man to calm down, "lets not jump to suspicions yet, right?"
Obviously, this man was a rarity in Gaia. While having a typically gaian name, his accent was that of a southern gentleman. But like a lot of gaians, he wore the requisite black clothing. Though it was a finely made suit, rather than the cloaks.
"But," he added in, directing his comments towards Leon this time, "There is the question of oversight. Yes? I presume you can ammend your deal to contain all the proper security channels and oversight, yes?"
As is, there was no watchdog... and well, they didn't even let the military run without a watchdog. The pursestrings behind said military would have to be under control. Under their control.
Hmm, the polls show mostly libertarian leanings. They probably wouldn't like it, if the Government just Nationalized some corporation to pay for a percieved bloated military budget... but... they couldn't just let their tax revenues burn... no... they couldn't do that...
[Port of Gambino - Don't be adding in NPCs, Ninjadude, on my Plot! But feel free to add in your own. Time: 3:06 AM]
The marine coughed hard, as Talon loaded him up into the VF. If he had hocked up a lung, it wouldn't have been surprising. As is, he was still in bad shape. Time was important. They needed to get back to a base, and sick bay, post haste. Still, he had a smile on his face, and looked over towards Talon.
"Didja save her?" he asked. His voice was rough and scratchy, he barely managed to get the words out, and he'd have to strain to hear them over the engines of the veritech.
While the prisoner, well, he was having a rough go of it. Talon kept manhandling him, and he just rolled with it. He didn't attempt to fight back at all. No point in it, what with some big machine that could pop his head like a pimple looming over him. Seemed kinda, pointless, to resist.
Plus it'd probably get him beaten more. As is, he was trying to save his strength for the interogation....
Survivors... There wasn't much in the way. Lots of bodies, but it was hard to tell if they were dead, or just unconscious from the air. All the fires made thermal imaging kinda pointless. Though there was not a single response from any searchlights, or PA calls. Not to mention most of the bodies were obviously dead. Such as those who had heads blown off by the machineguns, or were missing half their bodies. Seems these "rioters" had done a very through job. Half the buildings in the area were burning. Some of the fires were spreading, though emergency vehicles were on the way. Even those buildings that weren't burning looked to have been throughly destroyed, riddled with bullets and blasts. It'd be quite a while, if ever, before this place recovered.
The perpetrators of this massacre, were long gone by the time Dragonflame came to look. The jeep had sped off. No one saw it on the streets, no one knew where it turned off. You'd have to go building by building to look for it. Enough time had passed, and with the speeds it had shown, it could be anywhere on the island.
As for the two on foot... well, they made it out of the disaster area. And soon enough, melted into the crowds. Damn gaia and it's high number of mercenaries, warriors, soldiers, and the like. Finding some guys in black, with weapons, is like looking for a needle in a stack of needles.
[Terminal Number 6 - You forgot about me, didn't you? wink ]
The loading had gone off without a hitch. no interferences. Not even any mechanical problems. The cargo ship was ready, and already was drawing up anchor, and getting a head of steam, so to speak. The three men in the terminal saluted the bridge as the ship came to life, holding a crisp, clean stance. Even though they knew the crew couldn't see them up there.
"God speed," one of the men on the shore muttered. The other two both nodded solemnly, as the ship pulled out into the ocean west of Gambino.
Phase One, complete.

Leon looked up at this senator, and smiled. "Of course. We are investing in the GNG because like all Gaians, we require stability for our continued prosperity. We have the foresight to see this however, unlike your average Gaian." He paced to the projector and flicked it off before continuing. "Your question about our funding illustrates an unfamiliarity with us, which is understandable since up until recently, we have had very little of the limelight. We are however a Marketplace 500 company, and are responsible for the creation of several more. What we stand to gain from this infusion, besides the continued stability and prosperity of the nation is right in our name: Thinktank. Thinktank can do what it does because of the scientific minds that are its core. Minds that innovate, develop brilliant solutions."
The brown haired man stepped back to his original place. "The four R&D divisions we named embody these same qualities. Any other questions?"

A solemn look crossed the soldier's face. "I'm...I'm sorry." He shook his head and then moved his head to signal towards the terrorist. "His buddies got to her first. I couldn't save her." The death of the innocent was really starting to weigh on him, and the only person worth taking out his frustration on had to stay alive for interogation, hopefully Talon would be allowed to get involved in the questioning, to get justice for that girl and all the others.
There was still Lieutenant Patterson on the soldier's mind as well. He could only hope search teams would hunt down the downtowner before she was hurt.
It was too early, and Talon was getting tired. He hoped he could catch at least fifteen minutes of shut eye when they got back to base. They'd get Crispy to the infirmary immediately though, and lock up the prisoner before he could even bother with trying to sleep.

Airman Raven Moon Health Status: 100% Normal Weapon/s Status: 100% Normal Ammunition: 100% Full Load-out Location: Decommissioned GNG base. Action: Waiting
Raven had effectively made his way across Aekea, mostly sticking to back ways and alleys. At one point, he heard the distant sound of machine gun fire, though he continued on his mission. The cyborg now had some time to think about his mission since he was under radio silence. Something was not right. Raven had activated his link with the recon TALON back at the R&D facility. During the testing faze, he jury-rigged a failsafe and an auto-start in the bot. He could remotely activate and use the robot without the facility being able to track it. Back at the R&D facility, the recon TALON powered up, quickly made its way over to an open data terminal and plugged in. Raven then sent the bot to search for the activation orders and track down who ordered it. He pushed the stream of data to the back of his mind. He would deal with it later, when he had the time. He come to a halt just before leaving the shadows of the alley. Gazing out at the open space surrounding the base, it was quiet, to quiet. Something was defiantly not right. A stray dog walked up and sniffed one of his legs. ((Sorry for the long gap in my posts, I had midterms and then spring break. Hopefully I will be able to get things together on my end.))

[Affected Area near Gambino Casino]
Half an hour later Lyendi arrives at her destination and from the look of thing they were hectic. The Police force was busy trying to keep the citizens under control and a riot that had broken out, the Fire department was also doing their job by tackling a fire that was started by the rioters. She took out a small mag-lite and sneaked past the police so as not to be mistaken for one of the rioters, not to mention avoid conflict with anyone. At the Casino lights were on for the most part from the emergency generator, but even with that the building looked like it could black out at any moment, "I wonder how Mr. Gambino is taking this...", she said with a giggle and pressed on.
Upon arriving at the Casino, a barricade was set up 40 feet from the building that surrounded it, men in black suits and dark shades stood behind the barricade. "Hmm...maybe they might know the whereabouts of this Vic Voltage person. Excuse me...". Lyendi approached two of the men who then reached into their coats and pulled out their guns and pointed it at her, "Nevermind.", she stopped and backed away slowly. So much for that, Lyendi then decided to access the local news channel, maybe they might have some clues, "Lets see...". Bringing up her left arm that had the wrist com she pushed a button that made a panel flip open which was a screen that flickered on with static, "Must be some interference.". Her eyes were glued to the wrist com as she walked away from the Casino.
Lyendi bumped into a light post that flickered briefly, this also brought up a news channel which apparently was talking about UFO's?
-News Broadcast-
"Yeah, we saw this big ball o light floating n the sky.", said a white bearded fisherman, another added, "It wasa UFO!". A somewhat grumpy old fisherman smacked the one that called it a UFO upside the head, "What the hell are you two babbling about? And you!", he called out to the news crew, "Get that thing outta here, we have a job to do!".
-End News Broadcast-
And with that the segment ended and continued at the studio, "Hmm...a ball of light.". At last her first clue! She closed the wrist com and made a sprint back to the docks and speak with the fishermen...if they were still there that is.
[Barton Coast near the cliff side]
On the beach waves crashed upon the sand, two feet seemed to be enjoying the feeling of the water sweeping around their feet. Their long hair went with the cool ocean breeze, red eyes gazed up at the stars with amazement.

[The Oil Rig - Vic Voltage's ball of lightning]
The crackling energy beneath his feet was waning with every moment. He looked down, craning his neck past Eileen's small body and past his feet, both of which were studies in contrasting light as the greenish yellow energy lit them from below. The damned thing was little more than a beachball now. He looked up, and noticed the two workers on the rig pointing at him, talking frantically.
He cranked up his voice's volume level to his most amplified so they could hear him. "You there! Coming aboard! This girl needs medical attention!" He flew closer, and closer, and finally hovered on a single foot, balanced on a tennis ball sized sphere of electricity. He let it dissipate, and landed on the deck plating. The two workers were still staring at him. In a normal voice, he groused at the two. "Oh give it a rest boys. I know you probably ain't seen a girl in a few years, but seriously now." He pointed at one of them. "You, get me a kit to fix this girl up." He swung the hand to the other guy. "You, go let your boss know I'm here."
Reminded of the right things to do, they rushed off to do what he said. Vic smirked, and shook his head. He waited til they were far enough away before he began looking around. There was a boat with an outboard motor down there, bobbing with the waves. And that must be the generator. He climbed down the stairs to the boat quickly, and dropped her into the boat carefully. Then he turned around, and squinted up at the generator. "Sorry boys, no time to be nice." He thrust out his hands, and beckoned coils of electrical energy to arch toward him. He'd have a new ball pretty soon.
