Once Kaleb got inside the gym, he had to turn around and wait for Reno to catch up. Which he did bouncing on the balls of his feet and grinning eagerly. Maybe today they would get to practice longer, yesterday's test had seemed like it was over too fast.

"So ... how about we head to one of the bigger rooms so we don't do anything damaging in here?" He stuffed his hands in his pocked as he walked over to Kaleb.

Kaleb nodded quickly, but he was able to keep his excitement in check so he could follow Reno to whatever room he chose rather than bouncing on ahead.

He headed for the room where they could, if they wanted, get some of the Shadow's sent since the room was large enough to actually do something in.
"So ... just us or should i get one of the dogs up here?"

Kaleb considered Reno's question a second before giving a little shrug. "I-it doesn't matter to me," he said, in a tone that wasn't quite as enthusiastic as earlier. He did want to face what scared him so he could get stronger, perhaps as much as he wanted to practice with just Reno, but it was also the kind of thing that he really wasn't looking forward to doing.

"Alright then." He headed over to a pannel and after a few moments a cage lifted from the floor filled with what seemed to be a rather peeved creature.
"I'm sure he'll have fun"

Kaleb's eyes widened, and he took a step backwards before he could stop himself. "Wh-what is that thing?" He asked, trying to keep his fright from appearing in his voice. Still, he was well trained, and he already cast a pair of shields which would settle invisibly over himself and Reno. They weren't the kind to prevent all damage, just lessen it a substantial amount in the unlikely event of either of them getting hit.

"Shadow Creeper." He walked over to the cage and the thing inside jumped at the bars for a moment. "Figured out how to make them a while ago i think. ******** nasty bastards if you get them outside"

"I-it's really big," Kaleb squeaked, but he summoned up enough courage to take a step forward, bringing him closer to the cage, but also closer to Reno.

"Yea but there's nothing really to them." He tapped his e-mag against the cage. "If i let it out it will probably dissolve into a shadow so it can try to pounce on us. Give it a good smack in the head with this and it's going down for a bit"

Kaleb took another step closer, but he couldn't bring himself to walk right up to the cage. "H-how can you smack it if it just dissolves?" he asked, trembling a bit but hoping Reno didn't notice.

"It has to become solid to attack. They move long distances by doing their shadow trick but they cant attack like that." He poked at the cage which just seemed to tick the creature off more.

"Oh." Kaleb said. He could see the logic now, you just needed to have fast reflexes and a way to beat the thing back, and you wouldn't get hurt. That still didn't make it look any less fearsome. "M-maybe you should stop poking it..." The mage suggested weakly.

"It's no fun if i stop. Unless i let it out, but you seem kinda jumpy." He grinned at Kaleb as he poked at the thing again.

"I-I'm fine, r-really!" Kaleb said, his voice shaking just a bit. His shields were strong, of course they could handle a terrifying giant monster that could vanish into shadows and probably take his head right off with just one swipe of it's claws.
