rimedragona (( Shoot, I didn't even realize this was going on. *sighs* )) Remia sighed as she arrived at the gathering after it had already gone into full swing. She'd fallen asleep, and woke up to find that she'd slept away most of the gather day. While she needed the sleep and didn't begrudge herself the indulgence... it was a shame to miss a day of socializing. You sleep as though you just ate a herdbeast, mine, Trith teased her gently from her place on the heights. The cheerful teen rolled her eyes, and sent an image of herself lounging like a dragon after a full meal. The two shared a warm moment just before Remia moved into the crowd. Remia looked around, looking for people she knew. She wanted to catch up, learn how things had been going with others. As she did so, a drudge passed by with a platter of meatrolls, and she snagged a few. The smell of them had made her stomach grumble. Her blue flit swooped down as she balanced the meatrolls in one hand, and she chuckled. "You're hungry, too, hm? Well, okay, here you go," she said, and broke off a chunk of meatroll for the whining blue. He snatched at it greedily, and sounds of happiness escaped him as he tried to eat it whole. "Chew, Oli, chew!" Remia said, with a bit of exasperation in her tone. Here he was, almost a turn old, and he still wanted to gorge himself like a hatchling. "That's a word most of them hardly recognize." An accented voice mumbled behind her. The tanned man peered over her shoulder easily with his height and seemed unamused. "It's a surprise most haven't choked to death." He had his own food in his hand, one of the more 'exotic' pastries that was infact quite familiar to him, being a variation of a trader recipe. He wasn't about to let the flitt have it, and he'd only moments before got rid of the sharding gold that insisted on stealing his jewelry. She was up above somewhere now...he swore he could feel her beady whirly little eyes on him and glanced up at the cieling. Matter of fact a gold was sitting up above watching him as if he were a herdbeast and she dragon. He made a face at it. That sharding greenrider couldn't keep his pets away from him. Right pesky things. "Please tell me it's the only one you've got."

Caleten wondered if it was ingrained in every dragon not to allow humans to be harmed. Her loss would be no loss to anyone, yet Datiath did not want her harmed anyway. She responded to him, 'Don't worry about me, I have been holdless for far more then I care to count, I shall be fine.' Though, she tried not to think about that time she earned her scar through foolhardyness.
Caleten was glad to be rid of the crowds, she never did like them very much and half concidered going back to the South Hold, confronting her parents then she wouldn't have to constantly worry they or someone they sent would be looking for her. Even without that worry, she still didn't think she'd willingly be part of the crowds. "I am still right behind you." came her responce to N'tren's question.
Gem trilled lightly, her eyes whirling the color of happiness. She was very much enjoying the attention, even getting it all the time from Caleten, more attention was always appreciated.

Datiath's eyes were tinged with worry for his friend but he let the subject go. After all, one dragon could not protect all of Pern no matter how hard he tried. Instead, he sent thoughts of protection and caring to Gem. I shall not worry if you do not wish it.
It was a hike to the ledges but going two at a time and with all the traffic down below, N'tren made it up quickly. And not once did he stop with his affections to Gem. "Such a beauty. Just like a queen to have any male near her wrapped around her little claw."
Slowing down so he would not crash into any one's resting dragon, N'tren gave a bow to each dragon he saw before rushing to his own. At fourteen turns, Datiath was one of the longest and leggiest in the group. N'tren did not even stand to the joint of his foreleg. Turning to Caleten he grinned, "And here be my beastie! Much bigger than the last time you saw him."

Gem crooned out her appreciation to Datiath, sending her own images to convey that furhter. She also sent images of the caves she and Caleten had hidden during past Thread falls. She knew that N'tren was talking about her, and preened a bit, telling him with trills that she was happy with it.
Caleten watched Gem, the little gold had everyone charmed, she thought. To Datiath, she thought, 'I don't, there is no need. You have enough to deal with just keeping N'tren safe and the rest of Pern.' He didn't need to trouble himself with her.
Apporaching Datiath, she couldn't help but be stunded by the dragon. He was absolutly handsome, "He is a lot bigger." When N'tren's voice settled in its change, and he started growing, then they really would make a perfect picture of a bronze rider pair.

J'riar swore loudly to himself as he hurriedly made his way down to where the Gather was taking place. Shards and Shells! Scorch it all! Natroth rumbled amusedly from his ledge, knowing well that his rider was still sore from having woken up late. The man tossed his head slightly, sweeping dusty brown bangs out of his eyes as his long stride slowly settled into a smooth, rambling sort of gait. The Gather had started, there was no doubt about that...but, J'riar mused to himself, eyes flashing with a wicked sort of glint, it looked like he hadn't missed out on the fun.
Don't do anything foolish, mine, for I do not want to rescue you. The sun is very warm, and I'm sleepy... Natroth reprimanded lightly, and the young man scoffed, tossing his head with a lazy grin. That dragon of his...J'riar sent an affectionate tendril out to the deep blue, who responded with thoughts of sun-soaked love.
The long, lanky rider weaved his way throughout the crowds, so distracted by the sights and sounds that he practically ran into a pair of boys. "Ahhh, sorry, sorry." He waved dismissively, becoming faintly aware that he'd stumbled out onto the dance floor. "Aw, wait a minute, I don't wanna be here." J'riar mumbled, curiously looking both R'ael and Khalin up and down for a moment.
Have you gotten in trouble already?
Don't make me come up there, you scaly monster. A grin had split over the brazen youth's face, and he shook his head for a moment, refocusing his eyes on the pair of lads.

Kahlin blinked as suddenly as a person apperaed, seemly out of thin air as he had been waiting for R'ael to join him on the dance floor. Not to mention nearly ran him over, gave not a sincer appology but a dimissive one as if he didn't matter..
Wait, he really didn't matter anyways. Wasn't like he was actually important out here. Why was he staring? He blinked his purple eyes and scuffled back a few steps. "Umm..your s-staring," he muttered, trying to hide his face behind the newly grown out hair the color of honey as he flushed.
He wanted to talk to people not stammer and flush because someone couldn't take their eyes of him. "R'ael..." He started.
Sonia gave a soft warning hiss sensing her owners distress, faning her wings out, eyes whirling.

J'riar's eyes were unfocused again, still caught up in bickering with Natroth for a little bit--before one of the lads piped up. "Mm?" The bluerider focused on the situation at hand, lifting a brow slightly. "Sorry. Didn't mean to." Why was he stuttered? J'riar wasn't that scary, was he? "Hey, don't get worked up over little ol' me..." He held up both hands, grinning apologetically. The sibiliant hiss caught his attention, and his hands lowered slightly as the older man peered curiously at the firelizard.
I was never so small. Natroth informed him smugly, and the rider rolled his eyes.
"Pretty." He murmured, nodding towards the firelizard. He'd heard rumors of the little creatures, but had never seen them up close before. "S'your name?" J'riar questioned, looking over both lads now that his attention had no longer been diverted. "I'm J'riar." It still felt so strange to say his name with an accent, even if he'd been a Weyrling for some time now.

Fine bone fingers curled around Sonia, lifting her like a chick from her perch and shushing the flit firmly. He did not need her making a ruckas and calling more attention down on him. He viewed J'rair a bit longer, licked his lower lip and said finaly. "Kahlin."
It was just good manners to introduce himself. "My friend is R'ael," he added nodding to the slightly shorter man, before turning his attention back to the flit. "And this is Sonia. She is pretty and bites."

Enough!" she started to greet the man before her, until the greedy blue stretched out his neck towards the pastry in the man's hand. Oli retreated when she scolded him, and curled up on her cradled arm with a pitiful whistle, as though she had just sentenced him to death. "I'm so sorry! And yes... Oli is my only flit," she answered, and smiled up at the man before her. She curtsied slightly, and introduced herself. "My name is Remia, it's nice to meet you. I don't think I've seen you about the Weyr," she mentioned, with a quizzical tilt of her head. She had been stroking Oli's head and neck, and he seemed to have forgotten his previous state of mind in the sheer joy of being payed attention to. He sighed, and chirped contentedly.

Imirin didn't miss the blue going for his pastry and neatly ducked his hand out of the way, narrowing his eyes at the little beast. Why must girls carry them around? A sort of honour guard?
"Only one, eh? Definately good." He ducked into a partial bow, quickly switching his wineglass to the hand that held the pastry, and took her hand. He ghosted his lips over it, but didn't quite kiss, and grinned as he stood. "Imirin, Master trader." He looked down at her with a smile, but he always looked as if he were planning something. He also hadn't let go of her hand. "I was a resident here during the sickness. Took a trip out for a turn with one of the greenriders to get my wagon fixed. I'm waitin' around for another caravan to come through. Just got back a few days ago." He took a glance at her shoulder knots, "A greenrider then? You must be new."

Datiath brought his wedge-shaped head down close to Caleten and looked at her with his faceted eyes. Hello little cousin. I am glad you keep the girl safe.N'tren merely leaned against his beastie's leg and admired Gem for all she was worth. There would be a few free days before Threadfall where he could go egg hunting. But he said nothing of his plans. "Imagine how much he has to eat now. We are not officially allowed to go between until first fall... So we fly straight everywhere and it builds up his strength."
Looking at Caleten, he moved so that she could admire him better. "Feel free to touch. He likes the attention."

Gem crooned to Datiath, She was more the happy to keep her friend safe. She even took off to fly around Datiath, trilling to him.
Caleten listened to them and commented, "With as much as Gem eats for her size, I have a good idea of how much he must eat." What would it take to care for a gold dragon? Hearing the strength thing she asked, "Does it take a lot out of the both of you to go between? Gem makes it seem so effortless. Have you been anywhere interesting?"
Having been given the okay to touch Datiath, she reached out and lightly touched his nose, and took in the texture of the dragon. How much like flits were they? She wasn't sure and decided to try it out and see if he liked having his eye ridged scratched like Gem did. Of course, his head was a beyond a whole lot bigger then her little flit but she tried any way.

Settle with me, cousin. Datiath sent to the fire lizard. He leaned into Caleten bumping her slightly. When he was finished growing, it would be amazing sight to see her trying to scratch any part of his head. He huffed in pleasure and closed two of his three eye lids.
"Well, the longer the distance, the more it can take out of you. We have to have a very clear idea of where we are going before we actually go. Otherwise we would never return."
He had heard stories about the boy and his dragon that was discovered embedded at Benden Weyr. And there had been more than one tale about what would happen if you ever failed to visual... Look at Moreta's Song.
N'tren opted to sit down on a nearby rock and watch Datiath enthrall Caleten and Gem. Down below, the music had switched from lively to slow. The smell of pastries and well roasted meat teased his senses. "I think they are going to be serving the big roasts soon. But we can stay here as long as you want."

Gem did so, setting on one of his forelegs. She nuzzled her tiny head against his far larger and she sang a bit in light trills.
Caleten put her leg back to keep herself stabilized. She knew he could knock her off her feet with pretty little effort if he wanted to, but she wasn't worried about it. Since she wasn't facing N'tren at the moment, she smiled to Datiath and kept up the scratching he seemed to enjoy.
"What is it like, going between?" it was something she always wondered, not just how it was for the dragons, in extension the flits, but also for the riders that go with their dragons.
She was a bit hungry, but the slow music was even more reason to stay out there with Datiath and N'tren then go back into that large a group of people. In addition, dancing was bad enough, but slow dancing was even worse. "I'll stay out here, at least until the music stops and the people settle." Honestly, she was having much more fun up here then she would ever down there.

Remia's cheekbones pinked as he brushed her hand with his lips, and was quite charmed. She smiled to cover her embarrassment, and nodded as he explained who he was, but shook her head a little at the last. "Not completely new. My Trith is from the clutch Ariath had with Tallith... the one before last," she said. She glanced down at his hand still holding hers from the corner of her eye, but didn't say anything. Instead, she continued, "We're almost at the end of our training, with just a few more months to go. We-- all the Sr. Weyrlings, I mean-- are going to participate in the next 'fall. It makes me nervous to think on it," she confided, looking down and fussing with Oli's position to cover. The little blue looked up at her and cheeped, rubbing his head against the hand that held him.
