She smiled and gently rested her head against him. "No, I had not considered that you may wish to hold me. There is a reason .. If ever there was a time in my life where someone wanted to hold me, it was before I can recall. Growing up, few wanted to touch me for even a moment let alone enough that one would consider holding." she replied softly.
With his second question, there was a long pause before she could formulate her reply, tapping in to a number of painful memories. "My experiences have taught me that it is I who must show as much kindness, responsibility and skill when interacting with others in order to have successful, pleasant experiences and not expect anything from them." she said softly, pondering her own words.
When she spoke again, it was more of a muttering out loud rather than a statement or question. "Perhaps I have taken this idea to the extreme." Realizing she had forgotten part of her answer. "Indeed, I am quite comfortable, thank you. Are you comfortable?"
(Ooc: no worries ^^; I hope this means things are sorted out for you =3 )

"Well, that was then and this is now. You really should not dwell on the past too much, it tends to stop future progress." Reeve said before kissing her gently on the top of her head. "For example, if I lived in the past I would have come to the RDS for a few days and then I would have left... but because it is the present I decided to stay. That turned out to be one of the best choices I have ever made." There was his normal smile planted on his face, but his pale blue eyes seemed to be shining as he looked down at her.
When she replied to his question nhe tilted his head. "Thats somewhat silly... But if that is the way you were taught then I am not going to speak ill of it. Just remember, I care for you just as much as you care for me; so let me take care of you when I want to." Her final question mad ehim laugh slightly. "I am very comfortable."
((Arg, so do I.))

"I know not how anything in my life could be considered silly. It is logic. Only my master will care for me without question, all others either will not or may for a short time. I am to help others whenever possible, if no help is needed, I am not needed, so I move on. These truths are part of what I have learned on my own." she said softly, leaning her head against him a little more when she finished, believing he still would not like the answer she gave now. When he said he was very comfortable, she wrapped her arm around his neck, giving him a hug of sorts as they moved. The feeling of having someone take care of her, the sound of someone saying they wanted to take care of her, that they did care for her, felt unreal .. like a dream.

After she said what she did, Reeve dared not speak. His eyes seemed to glaze over a bit, becoming somewhat dull. Unless looking at him right in the eyes one would not be able to tell anything was wrong for his smile was still upon his face and voice still sounded cheerful. "I see..." He said simply as he got to the end of the passage. Looking up he saw that the door was open and he held onto Ziven a bit tighter. "Hold on..." He said as he bent his knees a bit before making one large leap out of the passageway and onto the upper levels.

His silence worried her. Looking up to him, she could not really see much but could tell something was wrong. Quietly she spoke, but stopped when he spoke again. "Reeve?" When he said to hold on, she leaned her head against him and again wrapped one arm behind his neck and shoulder. "As you wish."

"Yes?" He asked as he walked down the hallway. By now the Cd had stopped and the house was silent once again. Reeve did not look at her as he went into the main area, but made it look as if he was simply looking ahead.

When she spoke again, she hesitated with her words, not out of fear but out of concentration and a desire for Reeve to be happy. "H-have I .. Upset you?" she asked quietly, looking up to him with concern and apology.

Reeve go to a couch in the main area and gently sat Ziven down on it. "You have made me a little bit... sad. But do not worry, I will get over it." He smiled to her and stood up as he began to walk out of the room. "I am going to go put a shirt on..."

She smiled a bit to him as he set her on the couch. Though she was growing accustomed to his unconditional kindness, she was still surprised at how gentle he could be to her. When he spoke, she nodded sincerely. "Of course." she said softly to his explanation of where he was going. When he turned away, she lowered her head, trying to understand why she made him sad.

Reeve came back into the room wearing a lose long sleeve shirt. It was much like the shirts he normally wore and it seemed to hide his body structure rather well. With a somewhat happy sigh he sat down next to her.

She smiled with his return, watching him cross the room and seat himself beside her. She did not move, merely watched him intently, clearly wanting to know something. Finally she spoke; "Please tell me why I have made you a bit sad so I may avoid doing so again in the future." she said softly, blue eyes looking at him with an honest curiosity, wanting to make sure he knew she was really trying to be considerate for his happiness not just for the moment but for their future.

With a slight sigh Reeve put his hand into his pocket and pulled out a cigarette. He put it into his mouth, but curiously did not light it. "You made me sad with what you said. Stating that the only person who will care for you is your Master, while all others will leave... It makes it seem like you don't have much faith in any relationship you may have; including ours..." He stood once again, heaind for to door to the kitchen. Turning to her he smiled. "Would you like something to eat or drink? I'm afraid that magik doesn't work in my house, so I have to cook... I have actually gotten rather good at it."

"They." she said softly, nodding her head, hoping he would understand her correction. Though she would say master in singular, she considered her master to be of one mind despite they being two, dragon and rider. "They are the only ones who have ever cared for me, all others in my life have left or asked that I leave at some point. My apologies for sounding pessimistic, I mean this only as observation and communication of my experiences.
It was not my intention to imply that I feel this may apply to our relationship." she paused for a moment looking at him with an intense determination. "I have faith that what we share is strong, something that will last forever perhaps.
Yet .. I do realize that I can be quite pessimistic and I fear that we will be parted for some reason .. such as when you died. I assumed it was my destiny ripping you away from me because I am meant to be alone, I have been rather forcibly parted from everyone I care for in my life. I know not why these circumstances continue to arise, I do what I can to prevent this from happening yet there is always something that does happen .."
Rising from the couch also, she took a few steps toward him now that he had moved across the room. "My Master asked that I stop speaking to him of such things because we had discussed it all before. Now that I have shared this with you, I will do my best not to continue discussion about this in your presence. I do not wish to bother you with these thoughts, they are worries but not anything I believe to be absolute truth.
Would you like help? I must admit I am thirsty after spending time in such heat." she finished quietly, looking a bit shy because it felt odd to switch from such a serious, long winded subject to talking about something as simple as getting a drink of water.

"It is not the fact that you say the thoughts that bothers me, it is the fact that they are what your truely believe..." Reeve said as he walked into the kitchen. Opening the fridge he motioned inside of it, showing that there were many different kinds of drinks. Water, juice, milk, soda, alcohol... just about everything. "In the words of my mentor, 'Screw destiny, just as much as it tries to screw you.'" With a chuckle he turned aroung and opened a cupboard, removing a pan from inside of it. "We was very blunt with the things he said and when he was younger thought the fates were out to get him. He was hunted, killed, brought back, hunted, became a trans-dimentional fugitive, fell in love and then was left alone. Somewhere along the line he decided that if fate wanted him to live a horrible life, he would force himself to live a good one." He set the pan down on the counter as he began to look for other items to cook with. "When the fates took away the one he loved, he began finding unwanted children and raising them... Though his tactics for training those children were somewhat cruel, you could tell he cared for all of them as if they were his family."

"When one has no family .. they find those they connect with who might become a surrogate family. You are fortunate to have found them." she said softly tilting her head. She had many more thoughts on these subjects but all thoughts were completely derailed at the sight of his kitchen. Mouth falling slightly agape, she began to poke at the fridge, not knowing what it was. "It is cold inside! What is this?" she asked animatedly. She bent over examining the fridge, completely ignoring the contents, trying to understand the mechanics of it. "This uses the electricity to make the light turn on?"
