I'm going to go with Zidane (he's a geonome, not a human exactly), and if that doesn't work, Shiva...
Though I do like a lot of them.
See, Zidane's to me (who is actually a girl/I am), kind of cute and also very funny and entertaining and I'm interested in his storyline and how he goes through the game, and his personality, etc.
Shiva's ice elemental (and maybe water too, but mostly focuses on ice), and she's also one of the few summons throughout (sp?) the Final Fantasies (even though there are a few more), that resemble humans in appearance at least in the face and body, though the ears can tend to get pointed, etc. I think she could stand to use some more modesty perhaps, but I will confess that she's beautiful, in many of the Final Fantasies.

I'm a fan of Fran from XII, but I also really like Khimari from FFX .
But if you can include the summons... then I'm not sure. There's so many good ones that look hella cool!

I choose......Garnet....she had a horn ya know.
But I guess summonor tribes still count as human....
in that case...I choose Zidane
I can only think of characters that are not human from FFIX
my least favorite's queen Branhe....she's not human right?

Moogles - although I still think they're like humans cause of the way they walk and talk and eat just like humans...
